    BACKGROUND:

    IFDC Kenya Office seeks to recruit finance intern for an initial period of three (3) months to assist the Finance and Accounting operations of the division. Following successful completion of the initial three (3) month internship, the internship may be extended for an additional three (3) months for a total of six (6) months, depending on the availability of funds and performance.

    DUTIES

    The main task of Accounts Intern is to assist the NAFO and Accountant in Accounts and administration. Activities include the following:

    Review to ensure that all payment documentation is complete & correct as per the IFDC procedures before forwarding to the accountant for payment.
    Stamp payment vouchers ‘PAID’ before filing.
    Maintain a systematic filing system with clear labeling, where all physical vouchers and RTs are filed.
    Verify the inventory register in collaboration with the Administration Officer for accuracy.
    Help with the verification of workshop participants’ phone numbers before disbursements.
    Maintain an updated statement of account for all Airline and cost-shared payments and make such available upon request.
    Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

    SUPERVISION:

    The staff member will be supervised and reports to the Accountant.

    PLACE OF WORK:

    The employee will be based in IFDC’s Regional Office, ICIPE in Kasarani, Nairobi.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, international development, or evaluation, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation in international development.
    Experience managing teams and coordinating with project/program teams.

    Job Summary:

This position will be based in any of the IFDC offices in East & South Africa, or in Asia
    Reporting line: The Director of Market Systems Development Department reports directly to the Vice President of Programs.
    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the development and implementation of market systems development activities in IFDC’s project portfolio, establish formal communication and knowledge-sharing mechanisms across departments and projects and ensure effective integration of market systems approaches across program departments.
    Provide technical leadership on market systems development to IFDC’s project teams, including overseeing the design and implementation of market assessments, market analyses, and other market systems-related activities and regularly report progress to the VP of Programs.
    Lead the development of partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders, including private sector actors, government agencies, and other organizations, to support the implementation of market systems development activities.

    Required Experience

    A bachelor’s degree is a prerequisite and a higher degree in business or a closely related field is an asset.

    15 years or more years with 10 years in a senior post for profit (in Agri-finance) or/and 5 years of non-profit management experience.
    Experience and skill in working with senior executive directors.
    High-level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, division heads, volunteers, and donors.
