    Purpose of the position:
    The Program Officer – Nutrition Capacity Development Officer will work in collaboration and in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other partners in support of nutrition capacity development initiatives and interventions both at the national and at the county levels. Specifically, the officer will support WVK to actively implement capacity development coordination and leadership role as accorded by the MoH Nutrition sector, as well as work with other WVK Managers in supporting internal nutrition capacity growth of the staffs

    Capacity Development 50%

    In liaison with MoH capacity development focal person provide coordination and technical support in implementation of Capacity Development activities
    Lead the roll-out Capacity Development Framework and implementation/operational plan
    Support MOH in strengthening linkages between nutrition capacity development interventions with other related national wide capacity development interventions.
    Provide technical and programmatic support to implementation of Capacity Development work plans
    Ensure Capacity Development interventions are implemented within schedule, plans and budget
    WVK Nutrition team trained and mentored on core aspects such as project management, implementation and reporting
    In collaboration with other Program Officers, and National sector Specialists and other colleagues identify staff capacity gaps, ensure training on technical areas in nutrition

    Engagement, networking and fundraising (30%)

    In liaison with Government and UNICEF capacity focal officers ensure regular coordination meetings
    Maintain and manage relationship with donor(s) and government and other stakeholders for broader impact
    Provide technical support to ensure that findings from capacity assessment are implemented and inform programme designs
    Pre-position and support fundraising initiatives in collaboration with Grants Acquisition Management
    Ensure WVK visibility and participation in Technical Working Group meetings and other relevant networks at the County and National levels.

    Quality assurance for programmatic Designs, Assessments, Monitoring and Evaluation processes (15%)

    Ensure timely and quality development, review and submission of project reports in line with donor(s) guidelines and reporting timelines
    Ensure regular on-site monitoring and virtual support to ensure project implementation is on track
    Ensure project documentation, reflection and learning are conducted communicate impact and project achievements are shared with donor(s), MoH and other stakeholders through reports and conference abstracts and publications in bulletins and journals
    Create repository of key project documents

    Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
    The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

    Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food security or related field with extensive programming experience in nutrition programming
    Demonstrate track record of working with and managing multiple partners and advocacy contribution
    Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a thorough understanding of all areas of project management cycles in a complex environment, 3 years should have been at a project/grant managerial level

    Other Competencies/Attributes:

    MUST be registered with the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute.
    Effective in written and verbal communication in English
    Experience in conducting surveys using Lot Quality Assurance Survey (LQAS), Open Data Kit and ENA-SMART methodologies is an added advantage.

    Qualifications

    Purpose of the position:
    Ensure successful implementation of the BORESHA project within Mandera County as per the proposal and provide necessary technical support, related trainings, follow-up, and guidance to the staff, targeted community members, stakeholders and partners and also provide feedback and reports to the Project Manager including National Office within stipulated timeframes with the aim of contributing to improved child wellbeing outcomes within Mandera as guided by the National Office Strategy, the L&R Technical Approach as well as the L&R Technical Program among other key documents.

    Project Design, Implementation and Monitoring 50%

    Responsible for the implementation of the all activities in the livelihoods and resilience project with focus on DRR in partnership with partners within the Consortium.
    Contribute to effective and timely implementation of Community Led-DRR interventions and initiatives with communities and partners.
    Mobilize and sensitize representatives from line Government ministries, County Government and other stakeholders to proactively take part in strengthening community resilience to shocks.
    Develop and impart necessary trainings for staff, community members and partners related to DRR strategies and community based approaches.

    PUPRPOSE OF POSITION:
    The purpose of the National Director position is to:

    Set a strategic vision for the office and lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision Kenya Ministry as an effective member of the Partnership in line with ‘Twin Citizenship’ principles to ensure solid ministry quality and high impact in the field; be accountable for all aspects of WV’s work in the country.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Spiritual Leadership:

    Model a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry and integrity though lifestyle and work relationships, and provide spiritual guidance to staff on the Vision, Mission and WV Core Values.

    Ministry Performance:

    Ensure high quality Ministry approaches that align with LEAP 3 principles and ensure best practice development work at scale.
    Ensure strong ability to measure Child Well Being (CWB) outcomes and maintain a green rating on the CWB report each year.
    Ensure strong engagement in international and local resource mobilization, including positioning and support to grant acquisition efforts to raise additional resources and diversify WV Kenya’s portfolio.

    Strategy, Operating Plan and Long and Short Term Targets:

    Ensure there is a documented office strategy, Ministry strategies and operating plans, and the latter have been derived from the office strategy and has clear, measurable short-term and long-term targets.
    Ensure that Ministry strategies are aligned with Regional and Partnership strategic priorities.
    Ensure there are clear strategies for People and Culture, Communications and other main functions, and they are based on the office strategy and operational plan and include main priority areas identified in respective Regional and Partnership Strategies. Facilitate and be accountable for the execution and monitoring of strategies.

    Leadership and Management of WV Kenya:

    Promote WV’s Vision, Mission, Core Values and key Partnership Standards and Practices among the staff and partners and ensure these are the core foundation of WV Kenya strategies and work.
    Lead the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and ensure diverse representation on the leadership team.
    Strong focus on leadership and people management, ensuring the most capable and qualified staff members are in place to implement office strategy and operational plans.

    Micro Finance Institution (MFI) Strategic Management:

    As a member of the VISION FUND board, ensure that Vision Fund’s micro-finance ministry is integrated with World Vision’s Ministry to promote fullness of life for children and their communities.
    Facilitate programmatic integration of VISION FUND and APs/ADPs operations.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    Government Grants & Budgets:

    Strong knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.

    Manage a budget of almost $80m (Level III position – $41 – 100 million).

    Major Ministries:

    Experience in technical programming in at least one of the major ministry components.
