    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
    The Senior Food Assistance Advisor takes a leadership role in expanding the food assistance portfolio by providing strategic guidance to the region in how to use food as a resource for responding to the needs facing the vulnerable communities that have resulted from a rise in malnutrition across the region. With growing conflicts across the globe, the need for food assistance continues to rise. This role provides a strong advisory role and guidance to NO’s aimed at the targeting the use of food as a resource.
    Additionally, this role is tasked with advising, guiding and providing direction around the implementation of Food Assistance that is both food and Cash. It calculates the risks and guides offices to ensure accountability to donors and communities. Thus the intent of the role is to assist offices in pre-positioning funding opportunities from various donors through the technical oversight of quality food assistance designs, implementation and close-out of projects promoting food assistance across the globe.
    The Senior Food Assistance Advisor is also expected to provide technical, macro-level thought-leadership on Emergency Response, Talent Management, Sustainable Livelihood Programming and Capacity Building in all areas of food assistance programming including Local and Regional Purchase and procurement. The position also requires leveraging WV’s influence and excellence in programming to advocate for increased assistance to the needy. The position further focuses on substantive donor engagement in close collaboration with respective SOs and other regional sector staff (e.g. HEA, Food & Livelihoods Security, and Nutrition).
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Technical Support:

    Enhance and maintain excellent performance in the management of food assistance projects in compliance with Donor Standards by providing techinical oversight to the NOs through periodic monitoring visits, overseeing the establishment and implementation of compliance systems and procedures and ensuring that audit risks are identified and minimised in a timely manager.

    Emergency Response:

    Work with National Offices in the design and implementation of food assistance program during emergency response, focus in regions and in Cat 3 Global Emergencies when there is a need.

    Technical Capacity Development:

    Ensuring that all regions have adequate food assistance staff capacity to design and implement quality food assistance program.

    Strategic Positioning and Engagement:

    Promoting the WV Way – more working with others integration of activities and plans.
    Engagement with GC Sector Teams and TSO.
    Supporting Advocacy, Research and Policy.
    Lessons learnt, Best Practice and Adaptive Learning.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    A post graduate degree ( MSC / MA) is required.
    Formal training and specialist knowledge in Food Programming and related systems strongly preferred strong knowledge of major food assistance donors and regulations ( WFP, USAID. USDA, EC, ECHO etc) and Training in community mobilization, TOT / facilitators recommended.
    15 Years experience in humanitarian work, ten of which must be in food assistance management as a manager or equivalent.
    Experience in setting up and operationalizing food programs in Category II and Category II emergency relief operations.
    A proven ability in donor relations and networking and fundraising. Effectively develop relationships and relate to donors, NGOs, counterparts and government agencies.
    Requires ability to write and well analyze and express ideas in a sensitive manner within the context of a humanitarian approach.
    Excellent presentation skills.
    Fluency in written and spoken English required.
    Effective in written and verbal communication in English, French and Spanish where applicable.

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
    The role of the Humanitarian Response Director (HRD) is to provide leadership to World Vision’s large-scale disaster response operations, strengthen its disaster management capacities, strategies and polices, and contributes to the effectiveness of global humanitarian system through networking and collaboration with key stakeholders.
    The HRD is a member of the Humanitarian Response Operations and Global Rapid Response Teams (GRRT), a group of disaster response specialists whose purpose is to provide high-quality humanitarian assistance and protection to people impacted by natural calamity and conflict. In the event of a large-scale disaster, the HRD and other members of this team deploy to the affected country in order to provide leadership to World Vision’s disaster response operations.
    Deployments are often triggered within 24 to 72 hours of a disaster and usually last up to 3 months duration. GRRT members can be deployed up to a maximum of 6 months in a year.
    As overall leader of World Vision’s response to a particular disaster, the Humanitarian Response Director (HRD) is responsible for ensuring that operations are well-planned, properly implemented and accountable to key stakeholders (impacted communities, donors, host governments). The HRD must also build relationships with humanitarian organizations and other key stakeholders. The HRD will achieve these results by building a cohesive and effective team, while ensuring staff are properly cared for, protected and supported.
    During non-deployment periods, the HRD supports World Vision’s disaster preparedness and mitigation activities through capacity building, leadership of thematic issues, strategic planning, provision of technical expertise, networking and collaboration with other humanitarian organizations, governments, academic institutions and the media. The HRD will also supervise members of the GRRT when on deployment and will at times be called upon to provide strategic coaching to smaller-scale disaster responses implemented by World Vision’s national offices.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Disaster Response:
    The HRD’s primary role is to lead WV’s humanitarian operations in response to large-scale disasters. Such responses are frequently larger and more complex than existing WV operations in the affected country. Key aspects of the HRD role include:

    Ensuring that the response is planned and implemented in accordance with the assessed humanitarian need, WV’s capacity to respond, humanitarian principles and standards, WV policies and public commitments.
    Building an effective and cohesive response team that has the proper capacity, structure and culture to implement the response plan, while ensuring staff are properly cared for, protected and supported.
    Ensuring that the response is well coordinated with other humanitarian actors, collaborating with them as appropriate to improve efficiency, effectiveness and innovation in response operations.
    Mobilizing the financial and in-kind resources needed to implement the response plan.
    Ensuring accountability to key stakeholders (impacted communities, donors, host governments, WV entities).
    Engaging with key WV and external stakeholders to ensure that they are appropriately informed of the humanitarian needs, contextual realities and WV’s response to the disaster. This entails systematic information management, contributing to media engagement and advocacy efforts, and engaging strategically with senior level officials within governments, UN agencies, peer NGOs, and WV entities.
    Building a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the response, building on known best practice, the analysis of evaluation and learning exercises, and leading-edge research.
    Managing key staff safety, fiduciary and reputational risks, so as to ensure that the response meets its obligations, remains effective and well-respected by key stakeholders.

    When not leading responses, the RD continues to support response planning and operations through the following activities:
    Providing advice, coaching and capacity building to the leadership of National Office-led responses
    Providing pre-response analysis of emerging crises that determines the nature of World Vision’s response to a disaster. This includes leading pre-response assessment teams to affected countries as well as leading desk reviews of emerging
    crises or disasters where WV currently is not responding.
    Represent GC-DM in Declaration Decision Groups, and Partnership Executive Teams which provide strategic guidance to ongoing responses.
    Preparedness:
    While not deployed, the HRD has a variety of activities focusing on strengthening WV’s preparedness to respond to future disasters. These include:

    Building a global network of high-capacity deployable staff for large-scale disaster responses by providing subject matter expertise (SME) to Disaster Management (DM) capacity building activities within Regional Offices (ROs), National Offices (NOs) and Support Offices (SOs).
    Strengthening disaster management systems, processes and tools in WV.
    Leading GC-DM’s work on thematic issues related to disaster management (e.g. Faith in DM).
    Providing SME to NO planning processes related to disaster management.
    Serving in acting capacity for strategic RO/NO positions.
    Developing and maintaining relationships with key WV entities that enable effective “whole of Partnership” responses.
    Supporting initiatives that strengthen the evidence base related to programme impact and best practice.

    External Engagement:
    While not deployed, the RD contributes to efforts to ensure WV is positioned as an operational and thought leader on disaster management. Responsibilities include:

    Supporting efforts to position WV as an organization of choice for strategic partnerships.
    Maintaining key relationships with UN and private sector entities that facilitate operational effectiveness.
    Participating in humanitarian forums and institutions, often serving as the WV representative.
    Serving as subject matter experts in humanitarian learning events (trainings, webinars), as well as in the development of reports, case studies and other material.
    Undertaking media interviews, presentations, lectures to various audiences.
    Serving as subject matter experts for WV’s humanitarian advocacy efforts.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    University degree in social sciences, management or related field.
    Strong knowledge of the humanitarian sector including humanitarian principles, standards, sectors and key stakeholders.
    Proficient in English language (written and verbal).
    5-10 years humanitarian and development programming experience.
    3 years of senior management experience, preferably in international humanitarian assistance operations.
    Proven ability to manage large, diverse teams in high-stress environments.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    Post-graduate degree in humanitarian assistance, development, or management.
    Ability to effectively communicate in a major foreign language (French, Spanish, Arabic).

Deployments are usually undertaken to insecure or otherwise difficult environments, often in rudimentary office and living conditions, particularly in the initial stages of a response.
    When not deployed, the RD may be based in a Regional Office, Support Office or working from home.

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:
    World Vision’s global strategy, Our Promise, puts strong emphasis on ‘living out our Christian faith with boldness and humility’. This means ensuring all WV programming is holistic and transformational in nature. The Faith and Development (F&D) Knowledge Management and Capability Advisor role will be critical in enabling World Vision (WV) entities to learn fulfil this vision.
    The F&D Knowledge Management and Capability Advisor designs and manages systems that help knowledge flow to and between the right people at the right time (in the right format and at the right cost) so they can act more efficiently and effectively to deliver quality integrated programming that impacts the most vulnerable children, and furthers the goals of WV’s global strategy.
    This role will develop and implement an F&D KM and capability enhancement system (including guidelines, processes, competencies, learning assets and learning pathways) to support WV teams to plan and implement comprehensive F&D competency and capability strengthening interventions.
    This role will manage and provide expert advice to the sector Communities of Practice (CoP) and other learning networks regarding collecting and sharing lessons learned, identifying and validating promising practices for programme quality improvement, increasing staff capacity for field-level engagement, subject matter expert identification, and planning online learning opportunities for community members. In conjunction with the Global Knowledge Management team, s/he will establish knowledge management systems and processes to ensure cross Partnership learning and development and support world-class implementation of holistic development programmes.
     
    This role is responsible for coordinating strategic internal and external communications to share evidence of WV’s impact in partnership with key stakeholders. This role liaises with Global Centre Communications and Marketing teams, as well as SO, RO, and FO communicators and marketers in order to share evidence of WV’s impact with external audiences to attract new donors and partners, and to build WV’s reputation as a global leader in faith and child wellbeing.
    The role will engage externally to share and also explore/learn how other organizations build F&D capabilities and knowledge management. S/he will connect with academic institutions and other organizations to partner as appropriate for the benefit of Partnership wide [SECTOR] Capability and KM agenda and systems, and to identify learning opportunities.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Knowledge Management:

    Develop and implement the F&D KM strategy, in line with Our Promise and the faith based Strategic Initiative.
    Establish, develop and maintain sector’s knowledge sharing processes (i.e. knowledge access, capture, sharing, transfer, and retention) and information management system, using wvcentral, wvi.org, Horizon and PowerBI. This includes establishing and growing the F&D Community of Practice (CoP).
    Provide support and advice to other sector CoP’s.
    Promote a culture of collaboration and sharing among F&D stakeholders and programmatic subject matter experts.
    With appropriate systems, support data analysis and reporting on the Faith related Strategic Imperative.
    Ensure that M&E data and research are socialized internally and key findings are reviewed and validated for programme quality improvement.
    Serve as a member the Global Knowledge Management-led KM working or advisory groups.

    F&D Capabilities:

    Develop and implement the F&D Capability Strengthening Strategy, in line with Our Promise and the faith based Strategic Initiative.
    In collaboration with key stakeholders (P&C, learning and development, sector TSO colleague) design the F&D capability development system including competency frameworks, policies, standards, guidelines and capability strengthening processes.
    Develop and manage a system and tools to regularly assess F&D capability, maintaining a portfolio view across the Partnership. Coordinate support across entities to address capability gaps.
    In collaboration with CFSN team, lead the development of defined Learning Pathways for F&D (i.e. onboarding, certification, on-going professional development and capacity building) in partnership with P&C.
    Plan, create, and lead collaborative efforts to design learning content using adult learning methodologies and ensuring alignment to sector competency frameworks in collaboration with Learning & Development and sector technical experts.

    To lead the establishment and maintenance of an effective reporting, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning system, of the OVC Program. She/he will ensure that the OVC project complies with all USAID reporting requirements for performance monitoring and evaluation and serve as the technical expert in all matters pertaining to evaluation, monitoring, program review, and other performance standard requirements relating to the USAID PEPFAR reporting strategy.
    Major Responsibilities
    Technical and Leadership Support, 30%
    Develop and update framework and system for Grant’s MEAL in accordance to the design document, donor requirements and World Vision Requirement
    Oversee and coordinate execution of key M&E components (assessment, design, implementation, baseline, monitoring, evaluation, transition, learning and documentation) across the sub-grantees with particular focus on results and impacts as well as lesson learnt

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
    In alignment with World Vision’s Partnership-wide strategy, Our Promise, and WV’s commitment to be impact-driven, this role will provide global leadership on leveraging data and information into actionable knowledge for programmatic improvement, employee engagement and learning, external influence, and revenue generation.
    The Senior Advisor, Evidence and Knowledge Management will lead knowledge documentation, sharing and systemic learning across the World Vision Partnership so that World Vision’s know-how, evidence of impact, and experiences are shared internally and (as appropriate) externally with programme participants, partners, donors and supporters.
    The Senior Advisor will work collaboratively with various Partnership stakeholders to advance effective Knowledge Management in World Vision’s ministry, including development, execution and continuous improvement of relevant guidance and standards, working with Leadership, KM staff and others throughout the organisation to ensure that good practices are identified and scaled for both ‘quick wins’ and long term results. The Senior Advisor will also provide strategic guidance to enhance World Vision’s ministry Communities of Practice for collaboration, learning and innovation.
    In support of the Senior Director, Evidence Building, the Senior Advisor of Evidence and Knowledge Management will oversee the WV Partnership Evidence Portal—a one stop shop for evidence and data demonstrating the results and impact of WV’s work. As such the Senior Advisor will lead development and refinement of a portfolio view of all WV sectors and ministries, drawing together data from all systems and sources (including Horizon, LMMS, Our People, SunSystems, etc.)
    and working with analysts in various teams (including SRI, Finance, P&C, Sponsorship, Disaster Management, VisionFund etc.)
    The Senior Advisor will also support the ongoing evidence building efforts of the WV Partnership by providing support to the Evidence Building Steering Committee in maintaining an up to date view on the Global Evidence Agenda, and ensuring that all materials and evidence gathered through these efforts are carefully curated and leveraged for use by stakeholders across the WV Partnership. The Senior Advisor will work across Marketing and Communications teams, particularly with the Director for Impact Communications, to ensure evidence coming out of the Global Evidence Agenda is fit for purpose, and is being fully utilized across the organization.
    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Serve as a global leader, champion and advocate for knowledge management for impact, engaging Global Impact teams, other ministry teams, GFO, IT, and other key WV stakeholders to advance effective knowledge and information sharing.
    Provide communication to EBSC surrounding progress on the Global Evidence Agenda. Ensure resources from the Global Evidence Agenda are made available across the partnership and leveraged for uptake and use. Provide an up to date view on progress towards the Global Evidence Agenda to the WV Partnership, and ensure that all resources and evidence coming out of these efforts are made available to all parts of the organization, and fully leveraged for uptake and use.
    Oversee the set up and ongoing management of WV’s Impact Portal, ensuring that it remains a well maintained and curated space for all evidence from across sectors, ministries, and funding streams. Coordinate curation of new evidence with other KM managers from sectors and ministries, and work with GI teams, other ministry teams, IT, and GFO to provide portfolio views of sectors and ministries. Engage SOs to collaborate on content curation, and to meet user demands.
    Lead external engagement on knowledge management and analysis with peer organizations (including other NGOs and faith-based organizations), donors, leading academic institutions, and private and public sector organizations.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Bachelors degree required; Masters level degree preferred.
    Minimum of 7 years of relevant Knowledge Management (KM) experience with increasing responsibility and scope of role.
    Several years of experience with World Vision’s operations and business tools.

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
    The purpose of this position is to partner with the ERM team in achieving our goals and objectives by providing coordination, analysis, and management for the WVI IPH whistleblower hotline. The position will also provide administrative support and training for our Riskonnect and Ethicspoint software systems in partnership with other ERM team members ensuring our systems are performing well and accessible to our users.
