    JOB PURPOSE

    We are looking for a person with internal communications experience and a solid grasp of new technology who is excited to network with staff in 90+ countries to unite and inspire them, through innovative communications, to champion the organisation as one global community.
    The role focuses on identifying, developing, and executing optimal technical and other communications solutions (infrastructure and channels) for reaching and connecting internal audiences at World Vision. The person most fit for this role would have strong technical knowledge of tools and digital delivery mechanisms for effective global communications, including SharePoint and Poppulo. They would also have experience and an appetite to assist in managing learning capability projects and platforms, and leading engagement among different networks of staff.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Oversee functionality of Global Internal Communications platform
    Recommend and employ communications best practices, effective technologies, and best software and delivery mechanisms to deliver internal communications and key communications projects.
    Manage and implement the technical delivery of stories, news, and updates to staff via the intranet, online newsletters, and other channels.
    Identify technical communications research, guidance, tools, and techniques for communicating organisational priorities and supporting team deliverables.
    Devise processes and efficiencies to deliver organisational storytelling on time
    Measure, evaluate, and report on communications activities, channels, and projects through the use of metrics, surveys, focus groups, and evidenced-based evaluations.
    Lead the communications network across all of World Vision’s offices to share resources and learning, and to promote alignment with global communications resources and guidance.
    Update, manage, and promote the Global Communications e-learning managing system.
    Assist in developing, designing, and promoting learning projects including e-courses for key communications capabilities.
    Support communications activities that engage and inspire staff at all levels.

    Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

    Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Hospitality, Tourism, Communications, Social Sciences, Community Development or related field from an accredited institution.
    At least 3 years of experience with non-government organization or busy guest relations/ hospitality office preferred.

    Position purpose

    The purpose of the role is to Provide highly Technical and Strategic support on Environment and Climate Change Action to FO;s to enhance environmental stewardship , lead necessary climate action initiatives within the East Africa region and collaborate with key stakeholders.
    The senior advisor, through frequent field visit will provide technical support in the design and implementation of Environment, climate action program and associated projects in development work, emergency response and advocacy programs. Conduct quality assurance of implementation on sampling basis, assess capacity gaps in FO’s and carries out ToFs on core project models and approaches on environmental stewardship and climate action. Promote and support learning initiatives and manage the CoP, Lead and contribute to continuous innovative improvement integrated program/project interventions. Develop capability statements and contribute to design and resource mobilization efforts within the region and support FO’s. Coordinate with the Global partnership environment and climate change teams. Represent the Region in the various working groups and engagements on Environmental stewardship and climate action.

    Support the roll out and application of the Environmental Stewardship Policy across EARO offices.
    Support Field offices to set up and improve integrated programming in ESCA projects and build their capacity to do so.
    Develop compelling materials to strengthen WV EARO FO’s commitment and passion for work on ESCA (e.g., capability statements, case studies of success, business cases, Return on Investment etc.)
    Nurture a community of practice at field level to implement environmental programming with practical steps to
    that reduce WV’s environmental footprint
    Promote RO, and FO’s Carbon footprint and subsequent measures to reduce impact through initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders
    Monitor and track FO implementation of ESCA initiatives and report against relevant Regional and Global KPIs

    Be a focal point for ESCA issues in cross and multisector programming, including commissioning and overseeing relevant field research/ positioning materials, establishment of external partnerships and help position EARO regional office in the WV Partnership on ESCA issues.
    Strategically engage with Donors, their respective Funding Offices and other partners in a response, development or nexus context, to ensure that WV is positioned as a viable partner for ESCA programs.
    Work with FOs to broker external partnerships that can forward ESCA work at field level.
    Represent the region effectively in key organizational discussions, platforms and fora
    Maintain partnerships with organizations, think tanks and agencies to fund and implement ESCA or integrated programs

    Nexus Approach

    Will strengthen the implementation of the Nexus Approach by ensuring integration on humanitarian/development/peacebuilding initiatives. 
    These efforts include stronger and more focused joint analysis, strategic planning and programming and more joint learning (field trips, evaluations etc.) between humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding actors. 
    Focus on working in collaboration and complementarity between humanitarian and development actors and knowing that Field Offices will become more and more affected by the climate change, food insecurity, extreme poverty might lead to more conflicts over the scarce resources and the presence
    Work with humanitarian, development and peace actors to find solutions, to if/when possible, prevent conflict, violence (and population movement) to happen.

    Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role
    Required Professional Experience

    Detailed knowledge of NGO Environmental Stewardship and Climate Action programming and how to apply it. 
    Proven track record of growing communities of practice and influencing senior field stakeholders (Eg. Operations Directors, Head of Mission etc) is vital.
    Able to think and plan strategically and do practical field assessments, visits, proposal writing etc.
    Knowledge of Livelihoods, international development, humanitarian response, project management or other relevant field is an added advantage. Experience with Bilateral and UN Donors is required.
    Experience in development of projects, training materials, conducting training (face to face and online) and providing technical assistance.
    Understanding of the sector, donor and UN landscape for ESCA.
    Technical skills: Knowledge of ESCA Project models and approaches is desirable
    A minimum of 5 working experience in climate change and environmental stewardship, program development, implementation, resource mobilization in both emergency, development and advocacy context.
    The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 60% of the time, with possible extended periods of 4 to 6 weeks of field work.
    Preferred candidates should be committed to travel to Field Offices for days/weeks and spend time with Field Office technical teams in the field. Hands on support is a critical part of this role.

    Qualification, Knowledge and Skills

    The job holder must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Environmental Studies or Agro-forestry related discipline. 
    Post-graduate degree or Minimum 5 years of experience in lieu of Master’s degree in the above fields and with some experience in Agriculture will be an added advantage.
    Past experience and in-depth knowledge and experience of FMNR model as a landscape restoration approach is greatly desired.
    Broad understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation in practice is greatly desired, particularly in the context of smallholder systems in Kenya.
    Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in an advisory or management role with progressive responsibilities, ideally with an international NGO, working for programming-level interventions in climate change adaptation and resilience.
    Strong demonstrated experience in strategy, operations and/or management is a requirement for this work.

    Job Purpose:

    Support the National Office in the servicing of WVUS donors and partners across all WVUS fundraising channels. The Donor Relations Officer (Donor Liaison) will collaborate with appropriate WVUS Relational Fundraising Channels: (HNW, Influencers, Church, Artists) as part of the Vision Trip & Donor Liaison Program and the appropriate NO Departments (primarily the ND, Senior Leadership Team, ADP managers, Sector Directors/Managers, Finance and Supply Chain) to enhance the donor and partner experience. The incumbent will work with Donor Relations Manager in all aspects of the role with the expectation to create compelling experiences and deliverables that demonstrate WV’s transformational development model, resulting in increased awareness, advocacy, and financial support to 

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Ensure WVUS donors and partners to specific fundraising campaigns and channels receive optimal service from all necessary NO departments, which may include the National Director, Senior Leadership Team, Sector Leaders, ADP Managers, Operations, Sponsorship, Communications, Finance and others.
    Hosting Donors visiting the National office (NO) physically or on Virtual video links. Establish full support of all relevant NO departments (including ND, Senior Leadership, Program and Sector staff, Sponsorship and Guest Relations) to ensure the success of the Donor Trips and virtual calls.  This includes understanding the WVUS fundraising staff objectives for the trip, donor insights, and the ability to plan strategically with WVUS and the NO to reach these objectives.  At a minimum this will involve:
    Multiple meetings (various technologies) with WVUS Staff – including the fundraising staff – to fully understand the trip objectives
    Visiting the ADP prior to a trip to meet staff and beneficiaries to prepare for an agenda that “tells the WV story of need, WV intervention and impact on lives” and meets the trip objectives
    Plan an agenda that will transform the mind and the hearts of the donors
    Engage in conversations and interactions directly with donors.
    Preparing appropriate and strategic welcome packets for donors.  These welcome packets should be customized for each individual Vision Trip.
    Ensure proper logistics are in place well before the planned Vision Trip dates.  This includes, but is not limited to, accommodations, meals, transportation and security,
    Meeting with the WVUS trip host (fund raiser) daily during the trip to debrief and plan the next day. 
    Debriefing a Vision Trip, with key stakeholders.
    Ensure that all financial arrangements for the trip (prior, during, and following) are properly handled and reconciled.
    Keeping the WVUS Promise to Donors by researching, planning and providing high quality deliverables that demonstrate program impact at the individual beneficiary level (such as beneficiary impact stories, photos and video footage and custom calls) for projects funded by WVUS donors and partners. These need to tell the story of Transformational Development in a way that is understandable to the US donor and helps move their heart towards deeper involvement and commitment to funding WV ministry.
    These “deliverables” will be determined by WVUS and communicated by the WVUS Vision Trip Team.  The NO Donor Liaisons (DL) will collaborate with the WVUS Manager, Donor Liaisons and Donor Relations Manager supervisor to ensure these deliverables are clearly understood and provided by clearly defined due dates
    Multiple meetings (various technologies with WVUS Staff to fully understand the story and resource objectives
    Meet, plan and collaborate with NO program staff to identify effective impact ideas and recommendations.
    Visit multiple ADPs to meet staff and beneficiaries
    Research and interview beneficiaries
    Prepare appropriate and strategic approach to resource gathering. This includes, but is not limited to, accommodations, meals, and transportation.
    Deliver and/or create presentations using stories, videos and photos.
    Donor Relations Officer will undergo extensive training by WVUS to ensure understanding of the type and style of deliverables which are expected.  These deliverables are unique to “Donor Campaigns” and are different than other similar categories of deliverables requested by other WVUS departments

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills 

    Bachelor degree required with preference in communications, community development, or related field of study required

    Duties And Responsibility

    Technical support in Program Planning

    Take lead in the design and implementation of a monitoring framework to track delivery against program objectives.
    Together with the Program team and partners, organize and facilitate Strategic/multi-year Plans/designs and budgets for the overall program
    Support review and update log frames, M&E Plans, Program indicators and periodic targets and detailed implementation plan

    Provide support and participate in Kenya Big Dreams related program design (assessments, research) and in the production of well-designed proposal that are LEAP aligned and reflective of community needs, contexts and donor/SO expectations.

    Technical Support in Program implementation and Quality Assurance

    Lead and Coordinate the successful roll out and implementation of all MEAL related initiatives in the program sites of Baringo, West Pokot and Samburu Counties Migori county will also be added at a later time.
    Disseminate clear business processes for respective MEAL components to ensure consistent application and adherence to standards.
    Develop and support implementation of programs in the MEAL annual calendars
    Lead orientations for assessment contractors and conduct MEL-related capacity building for project staff.
    Ensure that respective staff and WVK implementing partners are provided with requisite MEAL technical support to perform.
    Coordinate effective implementation of MEL activities in collaboration with key partners.
    Coordinate and facilitate timely review and sharing of all program documents; plans/designs and reports.

    Monitoring, Reporting and Accountability

    Establish and operationalize a digital data collection and beneficiary tracking system and database
    Coordinate monitoring activities of WVK and its implementing partners.
    Coordinate, participate and report on technical field monitoring visits.
    Ensure mechanisms for collating, & analyzing data, synthesizing information, updating the monitoring matrix and other monitoring systems are in place.
    Ensure timely dissemination of monitoring data to key stakeholders for management decision making.
    Support remote sensing and GIS Mapping of Program initiatives
    Ensure the appropriate use of information management systems in compliance with WV Kenya, GOK, and donor and in line with partnership agreements.
    Coordinate the compilation and submission of program management reports as per WV standards and donor requirements.
    Support establishment of accountability mechanisms for the program to enhance information sharing, complaints management and timely feedback flow
    Timely and quality review and submission of all mandatory monitoring reports
    Always ensure to store collected data securely as per policies relating to data protection for the program
    Coordinate program reflection and learning sessions in conjunction with other grant staff and program partners.
    Disseminate all program information related to M&E to staff and partners across the three counties.
    Ensure Program alignment to the national, donor and support office evaluation protocols
    Prepare for and answer detailed data-related questions in calls/presentations with support office staff and project donors.
    Develop TORs and submit briefs to present at local and global events on the KBD impact in collaboration with support office.
    Lead KBD project compliance with all support office data entry requirements including learning appropriate MIS systems and building capacity of project staff for necessary data collection and entry

    Research, Learning and Knowledge Management

    Coordinate periodic reviews/evaluations of the program interventions using appropriate methodologies to determine achievements
    Ensure that the program assessments, feasibility studies and or characterization processes are conducted in a timely manner and quality reports are produced as per standard.
    Coordinate inter-county exchange meetings on MEAL for lessons learnt and upscale to regional programme level intervention
    Establish effective knowledge management mechanisms including documentation and sharing of innovative/promising/best practices or lessons learned and impacts.
    Organize and conduct learning forums/events at regular points to facilitate learning by the partners
    Facilitate ongoing and collaborative learning within WVK and partners based on key data from the performance management system.
    Serve as project’s point of contact for developing ToRs, solicitation, selection, and execution of in-country assessment contractors including baseline, midline, and endline, and other research as identified.
    Coordinate learning agenda collaboration with support office.
    Conduct M&E, research, and planning related to social norms, barrier analysis, and sensitive topics

    Networking and Collaboration

    Network and collaborate with relevant partners, and represent World Vision in Technical Working Group Meetings relating to KBD program
    Coordinate with external stakeholders including, but not limited to, academia, NGOs, Government, and Private Sector in order to advance the learning /research goals of the program
    Ensure sensitive complaints collection and handling through development of functional systems within the program
    Ensure accountability assessments are conducted and capacity of staff built to undertake accountability assessments.
    Ensure effective community complaints response mechanisms in collaboration with communities are developed and functional
    Comply with and promote WV policies such as Child and Adult Safeguarding policy, Whistle blower policy and anti – fraud policy (preventing and reporting any incidences of Fraud).

    Qualification, Knowledge And Skills

    The holder of this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics/statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation or Project management, Statistics or related discipline from a recognized University
    At least 5 years’ practical experience in Project / Programme design implementation and M&E and learning cycles
    Practical experience in M&E system coordination/ implementation in a large international non-governmental organization or other international relief/development body
    Experience in working on donor funded programs and other multilateral donor funded project.
    Demonstrate understanding of latest developments, research and trends in the relevant aspects of the field of child protection.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Strategic Management and Technical Support

    Provide effective and innovative overall coordination and technical leadership of the THRIVE Project in the design and implementation of interventions focusing on Empowered World View, Savings for Transformation, Local Value Chain Development and Financial linkages (Vision Fund Kenya)
    Coordinate with the various project teams and partners to ensure timely and effective project roll out as per the three phases roll out plan (FY 23 to FY 25)
    Facilitate effective transition of the participating projects as per the transition plans
    In liaison with the national level technical team, provide planning guidelines and offer technical leadership in the development of the various projects’ annual implementation plans and budgets for sustained co-funding

    Quality Assurance, Monitoring Evaluation, Documentation and Learning

    Oversee development and dissemination of annual planning guidelines that will support delivery of the THRIVE objectives in collaboration with the national level technical team
    Working closely with the DMEAL coordinator, ensure accurate and quality Detailed Implementation Plans (DIP) for the program for respective sites are in place and is utilized in all sites.
    Working closely with the DMEAL coordinator, generate Quality & Accurate quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports informed by Monthly Management Reports and in line with support office requirements and regulations.
    In collaboration with the DMEAL coordinator, support the program field sites to develop and maintain households tracking using the project digital platforms
    Work with the DMEAL Coordinator to ensure the appropriate accountability, monitoring and evaluation tools are developed and are utilized in a timely manner.
    Ensure compliance with all support office data entry requirements including learning appropriate MIS systems and building capacity of project staff for necessary data collection and entry in coordination with the MEAL Coordinator
    In liaison with the DMEAL coordinator and the field program managers, develop a regular schedule for monitoring and support visits and organize reflection and learning forums.
    In consultation with the DMEAL coordinator, project managers and communications officer, develop context specific electronic and appropriate documentation on best practice and lessons learned.
    Develop a risk register to ensure risk mitigation in implementation and ensure accountability.
    Ensure that findings and recommendations from various accountability mechanisms such as Peer Review, Operational and Finance Audits, Program evaluations, Program Capability Reviews, are acted upon in a timely and effective manner.
    Coordinate the program’s research and learning agenda in close collaboration with identified academic partners and support office.

    Advocacy, Networking, Collaboration & Partnerships

    Strengthening engagements with financial institutions for capacity development and financial access among the S4T groups
    Market actors mapping per AP and development of engagement plan and platforms such as Business to Business for enhanced farmers’ profitability along key value chains supported through BSL
    Mapping of key buyers at the Field & National level and fostering buyer seller agreements with farmers for maximum profitability
    Engagements with respective counties and National government for more investment in infrastructure development to support Local Value Chain development
    Establish and sustain working relationships with key THRIVE stakeholders including digitizing partners, local value chain and financial actors
    Coordinate as applicable sector integration interventions for ensuring integrated THRIVE Project implementation with other projects, technical programs and Vision Fund
    In collaboration with the program managers, ensure that program participants and partners are informed of all Government laws and policies and WVK policies in respect to Economic Development
    Participate in relevant Annual National and County Government’s Planning and Budgeting processes and influence resource allocation to the priority needs of the most vulnerable groups in programme areas.
    Oversee establishment of B2B forums, production groups, marketing groups and enhanced collective marketing of produce
    Ensure capacity building of the farmers and staff for effective engagement in the Local Value Chain development
    Work with partners and coalitions to engage in advocacy activities with the government structures, (both at National and County level) to support community economic empowerment interventions

    Knowledge, Skills and Qualification

    Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture Extension, Dryland Agriculture or a closely related field from a recognized University
    Minimum 8 years’ experience in community development work implementing Livelihoods & Resilience programs. At least 3 years should be at managerial level. Familiarity with Economic development and specifically Local Value Chain Development is an added advantage
    Thorough understanding of all areas of project management cycles in a complex, international development organization especially in development or Relief Projects.
    A good understanding of International, Regional and National framework on economic development, Community Based Disaster Risk
    Experience in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting.

    JOB PURPOSE
    The Sr Instructional Designer for Global Finance will create and articulate Learning & Development (L&D) content cascade through various Programme designs, paying attention to the audience and pitch.  Research, design from scratch and deliver e-Learning and/or workshop-based content for global finance, Shared Service Center (SSC) and procurement staff, including Global Center (GC), Regional Office (RO), National Office (NO), Support Offices (SO’s) and may also include VisionFund International [VFI]). 
    Will research and evaluate best practices for content creation.  Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to define learning objectives, content needs assessments, analysis and design, create storyboards and develop course materials and participant/facilitator guides using appropriate software.  Create evaluation tools that will be utilized to measure the quality of materials and needed improvements or enhancements to the curriculum.  Work on special projects that address learning needs for global systems implementation (e.g., ProVision, Horizon)
    MAJOR RESPONSABILITES
    35% – Independently research leadership management best practices and create appropriate content from scratch for global finance, supply chain and shared services staff. Design, create, pilot and revise content, activities and materials for an online and/or blended learning format with a focus on instructional design and delivery methods that are best suited for the learning environment and learner experience. 

    Create a learning “cascade” that takes learners from orientation to first-time manager to mid-level manager to a leadership role.  Identify relevant content for each stage in a learning journey and ensure content has the right pitch.
    Utilize Global Core Competency Framework as well as either Finance Competency or SCM Competency Profile to identify soft and/or technical skills we need to develop.

    25% – Analyze competency and skill gaps in existing curriculum and sequence/scaffolding competencies and related skills to specifically support talent development. 

    Work with SME’s to assist with the development and sequencing of content that supports what learners need to learn.  Work with SME’s to define eLearning objectives for intended courses, including curriculum needs assessment and design for courses and/or learning programmes. 
    Work with sector champions to ensure the content matches objectives. 
    20% –   Learning objectives defined and agreed for each course offering to enhance the learner experience. 
    5% – Revise and rewrite the content as needed to ensure materials reflect current trends and the desired learning outcomes are achievable. 
    5% – Provide advice and guidance on best practices for attaining learning objectives on subjects/topics and advise on appropriate systems (captivate, articulate, Camtasia, etc.) and/or host sites (e-Campus, Learning Zone, WVCentral, WVUniversity, etc.)
    2% – Assist in preparing faculty to deliver the curriculum through the preparation of facilitator resources and coaching trainers to most effectively deliver content.
    2% – Establish management and administration processes and protocols, including student registration, course uploading, learning Programme evaluation and management reporting.

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
    Required minimum professional experience, education, training, license, registration, and certification:

    Bachelor’s degree and five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience.
    A minimum of four (4) years of Instructional Design (ID) experience with demonstrated knowledge of Instructional Design processes as well as technology and web skills. 
    Need experience in Leadership Development, both theory and practical application
    Ability to carry out analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE) processes that are fundamental to ID. 
    Experience working with Adobe Captivate, Rise, Articulate, Raptivity, Camtasia or other course authoring software required.
    Experience with Moodle (for courses uploaded into eCampus)
