    Key Responsibilities:

    Coordinate as applicable sector integration interventions for ensuring integrated Child Learning implementation with other TPs at NO and field level.
    Support/enhance linkages with EARO and GC Education learning centres for continued backstopping to enable quality programming within WVK
    Ensure that business processes, standards and guidelines related to Child Learning initiatives are effectively applied by field programs

    Program Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning, Research and Innovation 

    Participate/Support CL & HHR TP adaptation processes, Program assessments, monitoring & evaluation,
    Ensure interpretation and utilization of assessment, baselines, evaluations and verification on quality of designs
    Strengthen research, learning, documentation and dissemination of WVK work in Child Learning
    Provide technical linkages and implementation of innovations related to the TP models both with National and Regional Level Governments, public and private partners
    Ensure development of standardized monitoring tools & staff capacity building including core models Data Quality Tools (Learning Roots & Go Baby Go) to ensure are in use with appropriate feedback
    Gather data at National level for reporting on Child Learning (MMR, Semi-Annual, Annual Reports, WVK annual & Board TP Report)
    Coordinate and participate in regular learning forums to profile, communicate and ensure adoption of promising Child Learning practices
    Participate in joint program monitoring visits with key partners to track and document program progress in the targeted program sites.
    Ensure the feedback from monitoring exercises feeds into the working of relevant technical working groups within the Program counties.
    Support quality reviews of program reports and core documents as per WVK guidelines and donor standards.
    Design/Coordinate/participate in education & child learning operational research, documentation, publication and dissemination of useful research findings
    Identify capacity gaps in child learning to inform the National level staff capacity development strategy
    Ensure skills and capacity development for staff and partners in child learning strategies, models and approaches.

    Program Development and Resource Acquisition

    Technically support Resource Acquisition & Management (RAM) team to develop proposals/concepts to prospective donors and SOs for Child Learning
    Respond effectively to calls and queries by donors and SOs on Education & child Learning Concepts/Proposals in coordination with RAM
    Physically present/defend Education & Child Learning Proposals to donors in coordination with RAM when required
    Participate in Go-No Go Processes, write ups, meeting with prospective donors and submission of concepts/proposals
    Develop quality and coherent Education & child Learning capacity statements
    In liaison with communications team, develop context specific electronic and live media communications on education & child learning and market related activities.
    Develop Sector specific Job Descriptions for technical staff in liaison with People & Culture

    Collaboration and Advocacy 

    Forge and strengthen partnerships with National and County government and other stakeholders involved in Education and ECDE Sectors
    Lead in development and utilization of MOUs / working agreements with sector strategic, funding and program/project implementation partners
    Participate in the planning and execution of ECDE Networks in all the counties, County level conferences e.g Nairobi County Conference, National Education Summit
    Facilitate formation of the working committee for the National Education sector engagement for policy influence on the integration of the WVK Child Learning Models
    Establish and maintain strategic contacts with the UN, Government, INGOs, Universities, Research Institutions, Donors and Embassies
    Ensure WVK representation in key strategic Education working groups and forums
    Gather and provide quality feedback and data to be used to develop technical papers and recommendations on key issues for external engagement with decision makers
    Support advocacy efforts to influence County Governments’ Planning and Budgeting processes and resource allocation to the priority needs within the sector
    Ensure active engagement on policy at County and National level on issues to do with the food and nutrition security and sustainable use of natural resources
    Support development of technical papers and or policy briefs on key issues for external engagement with decision makers
    Build capacity of field staff on advocacy for enhanced advocacy mainstreaming in Child Learning projects
    Participate and contribute in various committees and task forces and other assignments
    Ensure Linkage with World Vision EARO and World Vision GC Education Initiatives/forums for continued backstopping to enable quality programming within WVK.

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

    Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts in Education, BA Early Childhood Development, BA Early Childhood Care & Development or a closely related field from a recognized University
    Relevant Post graduate qualification(s) will be an added advantage
    Demonstrated track record in proposal development, funding acquisitions and grant management for major government donors preferred
    Good understanding of the international development trends and approaches at both national and global levels
    Must possess good understanding, knowledge and experience of WVI global core Child Learning project models including Go Baby Go, Learning Roots among others
    Computer literate especially in Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of data analysis programs such as SPSS, Stata, EPI Info and use of GIS for socio-economic mapping
    Excellent technical programming and management skills and a good understanding of the entire program/project life cycle
    Must have good facilitation skills and ability to deliver staff and partner capacity building (training, coaching and mentorship) on relevant technical fields including roll out of CPMs

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

    Master’s degree in social sciences, management, business administration, or a related field
    7 years of experience in a senior role leading a complex technical service delivery program of similar scope and dollar value.
    5 years of demonstrated experience in partnership building, especially with government representatives, donors, the private sector, and local community organizations.
    Proven ability to manage diverse teams across different sectors
    Familiarity with multiple donor regulations including UN, foundations, Bilateral governments among others.

    This is a high-visibility role that has significant positioning, risk management and leadership, and field engagement responsibilities.

    Major Job Responsibilities:

    50% – Multi-media content collection, editing and production

    Capture and produce high-quality raw, semi-finished, and finished photo and video packages that support marketing and speak to social media audiences, including for global moments and campaigns.
    Content to focus on enabling field, child, and staff voice, give context insight, provide response explainers and backgrounders, detail need and WV response impact, report back to, inspire, and thank donors, highlight partnerships, and give eyewitness accounts.
    Produce detailed captions and articles as part of multi-media packages. Transcriptions and translations must also be provided, where necessary.
    Post-production of photos and videos includes ability to introduce on-brand graphic and text additions, color-correct, and adapt for use on various platforms.
    Work with Nationa Office communicators before & post arriving in-country to plan budget and staff and set up content-gathering trips. Partner with Nationa Office communications staff, freelancers, and production houses where necessary to capture content.
    Work remotely, where necessary, to source and capture video, photos, quotes, facts, and info, conducting remote video interviews, commissioning staff to provide imagery, and sourcing imagery from social media, agencies, and other sources.  Produce finished content packages for PE and marketing audiences when not deployed.
    Coordinate with and pitch to content users to identify and deliver high-value content to deadline.
    Deliver content in accordance with child protection, informed consent, security, and other protocols.
    Records audio interviews when appropriate and edits for use.
    Ensure the content is transferred to World Vision’s internal StoryHub library using various methods, including via satellite, mobile phone, and internet.

    15% – Directing, advising on and delivering high-impact media engagement.

    Serve as a global spokesperson to high-profile media, providing eyewitness accounts, and talking to issues affecting children and World Vision’s response.
    Hosts and facilitates top international media trips in order to show need, WV’s impact and talk to key humanitarian issues.
    Ensures potential reputational risks are proactively handled.
    Pitches directly to media, in coordination with Support Offices/WVI media representatives and National Offices, establishing a reputation as a go-to contact for content, expert voice, and eyewitness insight.
    Writes press releases/statements, quotes and opinion pieces for self/others that can be shared with media.

    Serve as a mojo (mobile journalist) ‘personality’ shooting pieces to camera and collecting other social content. Produce finished short social piece or works with the PE and marketing team to produce.
    Sets up Live Facebook or other streaming platform pieces.
    Supports WV on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Sharing videos, photos, captions, and graphics-added imagery and engaging in conversation that demonstrates need and World Vision’s response and core values.
    Coaches and partners with response leaders, staff, sector experts and partners, and local and child voices, to help them shoot video selfies that convey World Vision’s impact, eyewitness reports, share technical expertise, and field voice.

    20% – Supports emergency comms, Equipment, and preparedness.

    Supports emergency comms-related virtual and in-person capacity-building efforts
    Defining compelling talking points or differentiators to support WV marketing efforts.
    Manage equipment, systems, and technology so ready to deploy. Equipment management covers computers, software, mobile phones and apps, satellite transmission and appropriate providers, SIM cards, subscriptions, cameras, and gear, carrying cases, audio equipment, branded clothing, and quick-run bags.

    Knowledge/Qualifications For the Job:

    At least 5 years of progressive work experience with international exposure/external engagement in humanitarian emergencies or fragile country contexts
    Masters or equivalent experience in journalism, public relations, or other relevant field.
    Experiences in networking with social media influencers, and working in international development and humanitarian ecosystems.
    Strong journalistic and technical photo, video, story, and social media skills. Ability to facilitate the collection of image and story resources.  Ability to use mobile phone to capture, edit, and share photographs, video, and audio on social media.

    As part of the Advocacy & External Engagement (A&EE) team, the Senior Project Manager will provide high-level end-to-end project management, budget management, and business operations support to facilitate A&EE’s strategy implementation and overall effectiveness.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

    35% Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Engagement 

    Provide end-to-end project management support for complex projects. This will include: (1) develop and update project management plans; (2) present data and information visually for senior leadership decision-making; (3) coordinate, clarify, and align activities across stakeholders; (4) facilitate ongoing performance management – escalating issues to senior leadership for action as needed; and (5) align activities with allocated budget and monitor budget spend.

    With oversight from the Senior Director, design and implement a budget development and monitoring approach for A&EE, ensuring optimized financial management and oversight.

    Job Summary

    VFI, as part of its 2030 strategy, seeks to impact an additional 9 million children by enabling 3 million households to gain access to financial services outside of VFI’s present network of MFIs.  This work will be led by the newly created World Vision Inclusive Finance Group.
    The Disaster Recovery Finance Director is one of the new positions within this group, and this person’s role will be to enable beneficiaries of World Vision’s humanitarian assistance (particularly cash transfers) to gain access to financial services.  The position will work directly with interested World Vision field offices, VF MFIs, and other partners to explore innovative ways to connect low-income households impacted by climate, conflict and other disasters in the pre and post emergency periods to gain increased access to valuable financial services.  The position will work closely with the WVI cash programming team and disaster response efforts, and candidates are expected to be innovative in supporting the implementation of pragmatic solutions as part of World Vision’s approach to resilience and recovery.
    Millions of people, particularly the very poor and marginalized, are greatly impacted by disasters and emergencies every year.  As part of the organization’s response to these emergency situations, this position under the World Vision Inclusive Finance Group has been created to lead the design and implementation of innovative financial solutions that will increase access to financial services (savings, loans, transfers/remittances & insurance) and financial/digital literacy training for affected people, impacted by and recovering from disasters and humanitarian crises.
