    JOB PURPOSE
    To support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities and contribute to the establishment and presentation of standard and consistent operating picture of WFP operations and associated results that facilitate informed and timely decision-making at all levels throughout the organisation. 
    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
    Experience: Typically three years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    Specialised knowledge of information management best practices, techniques and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background.
    Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills.
    Able to supervise and support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.
    Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly assimilate, UN/WFP specific processes and systems.
    Language: International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese.

    Support staff in assigned area to ensure that standard OIM & PR procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP.
    Collate relevant information and data from media and local internal and external sources to facilitate and maximize the exchange of information and data flow between functional area networks in WFP, to provide operational awareness and understanding of events that may have humanitarian and/or operational impact.
    Collate and assist in the dissemination of political and humanitarian analysis pertaining to WFP current or future responses and donor policies, trends and preferences to ensure country specific input to WFP’s operational reporting.
    Collate, analyse and communicate the ‘Essential Elements of Information’, pertaining to the operational environment and available human, financial and physical assets in order to facilitate access to timely and accurate information used at country, regional and corporate level.
    Contribute to the implementation and further development of the SPR Intelligent Next Generation system (SPRING). Support the preparation of Standard Project Reports (SPRs) for the Annual Reporting Exercise in collaboration with the country office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource management functions by coordinating to ensure coherence and quality of performance information.
    Collaborate with counterparts internally and with other UN agencies to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information.
    Support the enhancement of the capacity of WFP staff and partners to effectively manage operational information and performance reporting through assisting in the delivery of the OIM & PR training on core competencies.
    Guide and supervise more junior staff as required, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with more complex analysis and queries.
    Support COs or RBs in emergencies by preparing, organising and providing secretarial support to Operational Task Forces (OTFs).
    Contribute to identifying Corporate Performance Reporting Improvements.
    Support the drafting of, and contribute to, any OIM & PR related normative guidance as required. Contribute to initiatives for developing improved, streamlined, and harmonized OIM & PR.

    Assist the Protocol team in carrying out the work of the Programme Unit, and deputize for the Manager in his/her absence as follows: 

    Apply the provisions of the WFP Host Country Agreement to Internationally recruited UN Staff Members posted to the Kenya Duty Station.

    Conduct briefings for new staff members on immigration formalities, duty-free and tax exemption privileges, and vehicle registration, and ensure that the information is up to date; provide guidance to staff members in completing forms relating to the privileges and exemptions. 
    Ensure the timely processing of the following for the organization and eligible internationally recruited staff members and their dependents: notification of arrival documentation and the issuance of diplomatic identity cards and PIN numbers. Issuance of re-entry passes and renewal of the same; duty free imports and purchase of duty-free liquor and tobacco (official/ staff members); issuance and renewal of interim and new Kenyan driving licenses; registration of new / second hand vehicles and transfer / disposal of used vehicles (official / staff members); VAT exemptions (official / staff members), issuance of red number plates and airport passes.

    Provide assistance to the Protocol team in the maintenance and integrity of data and records, generation of reliable reports and statistics, and daily work distribution within the Unit, as follows: 

    Maintain an up-to-date filing system and electronic database with client data and ensure the integrity of data stored therein. Track expiry dates of documents and visas and notify clients to initiate renewal action in good time. 
    Prepare workload statistics from data extracted from all databases and generate reports as required.
    Prepare correspondence, Note Verbal’s, covering letters, and reports upon request.

    Records and Data Management: Responsible for assembling, cataloguing, preserving and managing valuable collections of historical information for the country office.

    Airport Protocol Duties

    Facilitate the reservations of Airport VIP Lounges at JKIA, Wilson Airport and other airports (as applicable) to facilitate the arrivals and departures for WFP Senior Staff and VIP
    Conduct airport arrival and departure formalities for WFP Senior Staff and invited VIP Guests
    Ensure that all arriving guests/staff (entitled) are paged, assisted through the Immigrations, Customs, baggage clearance and directions to transport facilities.

    JOB PURPOSE
    The Medical Officer is appointed as a surge staff for areas of staff health and safety while providing hygiene and safety training, personal first aid training, review of medical and casualty response, assessment of health, safety and environmental issues of WFP staff and offices post COVID-19 Pandemic.
    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Education:

    Doctorate in Medicine; Postgraduate medical qualification in, preferably, one of the following medical specialties; Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health and Safety, and/or Public health.
    Currently registered to practice medicine in own country or another UN member state is required.
    Professional trainer’s certification related to infectious diseases i.e., Ebola, COVID-19.

    Work Experience:

    Have vast experience in any outbreak response and emergencies.
    Minimum 5 years of progressive professional experience in healthcare, at least, 1-2 years should be in an international organization.
    At least five (5) years progressive experience and practice in general medicine in developing countries or countries in conflict.
    Creation of training programmes.
    Workshop & presentation training.
    Experience within the UN system or a similar NGO is an added advantage.

    Language:

    Fluency (level C) in English language. Knowledge of French is an added advantage.

    Under the functional supervision and guidance of the Regional Medical Officer, the Medical Officer will be responsible for the following key duties:

    To contribute in the design and coordination of the delivery of medical services in the region for efficient and effective promotion, prevention and protection of the health and safety of WFP staff following the Wellness Strategy and the Regional Strategic objective
    Provide technical expertise, advice and solutions that support strategic results, and contribute to the formulation of regional strategies and approaches where appropriate

    Assess disease outbreaks or other environmental hazards that could have impact on WFP’s operations and recommend mitigating measures.
    Identify (confidentially) staff with stress or other psychological concerns and coordinate assistance as appropriate with Regional Staff Counsellor and the UNDSS Counsellor.
    Manage, advise, and report on all health matters related to staff including:

    Performing and assessing medical examinations and clearances for national staff related to recruitment, periodic medical examination, pre-departure briefing for missions to the field, management or assistance with follow-up of chronic medical condition diagnosed and for which treatment has already started etc.
    Leave due to illness; or identifying health hazards for staff and/or dependents (work-related and/or environmental).
    Ensuring compliance to all UN medical protocols and recommendations (HIV/AIDS, first-aid training PEP kit country specific protocols including PICT and VCCT).

    JOB PURPOSE
    The Protection and AAP Advisor will report to the Senior Regional Emergencies Advisor and Head of EPR in RBN, with technical support from HQ.  The Protection and AAP Advisor will manage a small team (currently to include a JPO from early 2022 and cross-unit programme and administrative support). The Protection and AAP Advisor will also collaborate closely with the planned Senior Conflict and Access Advisor.
    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
    The Protection and AAP Advisor will be responsible for coordinating a small team and the following key duties:
    Technical Support to Country Offices

    Analysis: The Advisor will provide technical guidance, advice and in-country support to COs in undertaking an analysis of protection and of conflict / peace dynamics – including gender-based violence – impacting food insecurity and vice-versa and arising from WFP operations and presence. Analytical support to include work on data protection and privacy and privacy impact assessments (PIAs) as necessary, in accordance with corporate policy and guidance. Guidance on IHL implications for operations will also be required, including on cross-border assistance and application of Security Council Resolution 2417. Support on risk analysis as part of corporate risk management should also be provided.
    Response: Provide technical guidance and advice on the integration of protection, conflict sensitivity, and AAP to COs in the region through remote support as well as in-country missions. Based on the analysis of protection and conflict sensitivity issues, the Advisor will help COs and partners to develop risk mitigation responses including programme adjustments, advocacy measures, partnership building and coordination enhancement activities, etc. The Advisor shall work closely with WFP field staff; protection-mandated and non-mandated agencies; WFP Cooperating Partners; and other relevant interlocutors on the ground in this regard.
    Monitoring: The Advisor will work with the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) teams and the and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Units throughout the region in the region to integrate relevant protection and conflict sensitivity concerns into assessment and monitoring tools, and support the roll out of the updated monitoring mechanisms with WFP and partners at the field level.
    Research and conceptual development: Where appropriate, the advisor will support COs develop and assess potential theories of change of how WFP’s programming may contribute to peace, and engage / support research on the same through SIPRI or other mechanisms to better understand possible contributions to peace and how to measure this.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (2)
    Global and Regional Collaboration

    Engagement with corporate policy and strategic framework: Provide feedback on the utility / effectiveness of existing corporate tools for protection, conflict sensitivity, inclusion and AAP, and provide input into the development of new corporate tools and policies, strategies and guidance as relevant.
    Integration into existing tools and processes: Provide advice and technical support to integrate protection and conflict sensitivity considerations into WFP’s existing tools and processes as relevant at the regional level.
    Cross-functional engagement: The advisor will work with all other regional units at the bureau as necessary, including: security, logistics, supply chain, and others, to ensure that any risks assessments for access and delivery take into account protection of beneficiaries and conflict sensitivity concerns.
    Inter-agency coordination and representation in regional fora: The Advisor will assist WFP to coordinate with other UN humanitarian agencies, NGO partners and other relevant interlocutors on assessments of current and emerging protection and conflict dynamics and response planning. In particular, the Advisor will assist WFP to strengthen its engagement with the relevant protection coordination mechanisms and individual protection actors to ensure complementarity with the overall strategy on protection.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (3)
    Capacity Building and Partnership Engagement

    Training and Information Provision: Identify capacity strengthening needs and facilitate capacity building, including training, on protection, conflict sensitivity, peacebuilding and AAP for WFP and cooperating partner staff across the region. The Advisor will undertake training and building the capacity of staff on protection analysis, response development and integration in WFP’s work, including regular dissemination of new guidance, tools and approaches for this work, and link staff to available training and other opportunities in their country of operation and elsewhere.
    Partnership development: Build links and forge partnerships with peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity actors. Maintain and expand existing partnerships relevant to Protection and AAP and identify opportunities for collaboration with partner agencies and new partnership. The Advisor will represent WFP in relevant inter-agency protection fora, and will provide advice to WFP staff who participate in such meetings at the national or field levels

    Community Feedback Management and PSEA

    Community Feedback and Complaints Management: In collaboration with M&E and CFM managers, ensure protection and conflict sensitivity issues can be captured through the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and responded to appropriately.  Provide advice, guidance and follow-up in relation to protection aspects of the CFM and ensure data protection and privacy are respected throughout the feedback cycle.
    Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse: Provide policy advice, technical guidance and implementation support to all teams to prevent and address SEA and engage with regional and country level work on PSEA as necessary. Facilitate and support the work of PSEA Focal Points in COs.
    Perform other related duties as required.

    Qualifications & Experience Required
    Education:

    Advanced University degree in International Law, Development Studies, International Affairs, Agriculture, or Social Sciences, or a field relevant to international development and humanitarian assistance.

    Experience & Knowledge:

    A least 10 years (5 of which at international and field level) of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in development projects or humanitarian assistance, including crisis and post-crisis contexts;  experience in the East Africa / Horn of Africa region is highly desirable.
    Demonstrated experience working on humanitarian protection and/or international humanitarian law, human rights law and programming in a field setting;
    Experience of managing teams and projects;
    Experience in the design and delivery of training and other learning initiatives related to accountability to affected populations, protection mainstreaming, and conflict sensitivity;   
    Experience working with WFP or a WFP cooperating partners in the field is a strong asset;
    Strong knowledge of food security and/or nutrition programme principles and practices in a variety of contexts.

    Language: 

    Fluency in oral and written English mandatory. An intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable

    JOB PURPOSE
    The challenges of working in difficult conditions to bring much needed food and support to our recipients can place a great deal of pressure and stress on WFP staff. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly exacerbated challenges and stress.
    As part of the Wellness Division, the Staff Counselling Unit is committed to preventing and alleviating stress to improve the overall health, performance, and morale of staff. We do this by identifying and addressing factors that contribute to stress in the workplace, promoting good employment and management practices, and providing counselling services that help to mitigate or avoid the negative effects of workplace stress. 
    The Staff Counsellor will provide efficient and effective psychological counselling to staff across RBN requiring support related to work-place difficulties or personal issues. A large emphasis will be placed on extensive engagement with staff and promotion of staff well-being. The Staff Counsellor will report to the WFP Regional Staff Counsellor.
    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Education:
    Advanced University degree in Psychology, Psychiatry, Counselling or related field. Registration as a Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Counsellor or equivalent in the country of origin is preferred.
    Experience: 
    Typically, five years or more of relevant experience in the field of mental health. Experience in hardship duty stations providing counselling or wellness services to staff working in difficult and hazardous environments is desirable
