    The Positions
    The positions are distributed nationwide. The appointment is on contractual terms of one year, renewable on performance and mutual agreement.
    Education and Professional Training

    Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent with a pass in English
    Kenya Registered Nurse Midwife or Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse or a degree in Bachelor of Science, Nursing
    At least 1 year working experience post qualification in a busy maternity unit
    Basic computer particularly MS Office applications and good IT skills

    Position Duties and Responsibilities

    Screen and enroll eligible participants in the study and ensure proper administration of consent procedures.
    Administer screening and enrollment questionnaire to the participants

    Participate in training study site team members distributed nationwide.
    Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for the study coordinator

    Minimum requirements

    Applicants must have at least a KCSE Grade C+ or its equivalent

    Must be registered with Nursing Council of Kenya and be in possession of a valid nursing practicing license.
    They must also have a certificate in VCT, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Counseling training from a recognized institution.

    Experience

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Program Manager, the Communication, Policy Advocacy and Knowledge Management Officer will be responsible for:

    Ensuring coherence in communication, effective policy advocacy and proper knowledge management.
    Developing and implementing an effective communication strategy for the Hub.
    Ensuring smooth communication between the hub, partners and other stakeholders.iv.Ensuring consistent messaging to facilitate effective participation by all the partners and stakeholders.

    Managing the Hub online data processing system and integrating all the processes to ensure sustainability.This will entail working closely with the ICT assistant.

    Coordinating advocacy activities with partners and other stakeholders.
    Working closely with the UON library to ensure the publication of the Hub’s journal articles, research papers, e-books, and other products in theUniversity’s online repository.
    Disseminating research findings through print and electronic media to promote evidence uptake.
    Linking the hub with stakeholders in policy advocacyas well as managing the Hub’s policy advocacy strategy and ensuring its proper implementation

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: journalism, communication, public relations or any other related, relevant field.
    Those with a Masters degreein the mentioned fields will have added advantage.

    Job description

    The Chief Legal Officer shall:

    Report to the Council, the Vice Chancellor (functionally) and the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Human Resource and Administration (administratively).
    In conjunction with the Vice-Chancellor, provide effective corporate Secretarial Services to the Council and advice on good corporate governance practices.
    Spearhead the effective and efficient University’s corporate legal and secretarial services functions on a diverse range of substantive and procedural questions of policy and law to firmly secure interest and generate value for the organization in relation to all parties whether within or outside in order to achieve the University’s vision, mission, philosophy, and objectives and ensure that the University’s activities are in conformity with all laws and regulations.
    Be the functional head of the Legal Department responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the Department in addition to leading all the legal teams in strategic corporate legal function that delivers practical, proactive, timely and relevant legal services in response to a broad range of complex business matters of significant strategic and financial value and to provide solutions to manage the risks.
    Formulate and develop legal and corporate secretarial strategy, plan and budget for the department to ensure legal policy guidelines and secretarial services implementation and adherence.
    Undertake interpretation of Constitution and the subsidiary legislation for and on behalf of the Council, management, staff, students and stakeholders.
    Prepare and institute suits/claims in the subordinate court, High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and arbitral Tribunals on behalf of the University, Council and Management.
    Draft, develop, review and prepare various types of contracts including service level agreements, maintenance and service contracts, project contracts, partnership agreements, dealership agreements, third party agreements, sub-contract agreements, employment contracts and all other agreements while ensuring that they are legally sound and they comply with University’s policies and procedures and mitigation of risks
    Strengthen the legal, policy and institutional framework for anti-corruption, ethics, and integrity.
    Perform any other duties assigned by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HRA) from time to time or any other officer authorized by the Vice-Chancellor.

    The Project

    The position
    Duty Station: Kenyatta National Hospital, with frequent travel to the other study sites
    Reporting to: Principal Investigator

    Job Purpose
    The Study Coordinator will provide overall management and clinical supervision of the study team and ensure the study protocol is adhered to at all sites.
    Primary Responsibilities

    Developing study relevant SOPs and manuals to guide study personnel
    Ensuring adherence to the study protocol
    Promoting Good Clinical Practice in the conduct of the study
    Providing leadership, training, mentoring and guidance to clinical staff in all aspects of trial conduct and project orientation to ensure compliance with protocols and guidance documents
    Participating in participant recruitment, review, and care, as per the study protocol
    Overseeing all clinical personnel performing study specific tasks and procedures
    Acting as a liaison between investigators, participants and staff

    Qualifications

    Master’s degree in epidemiology or public health
    Minimum of 2 years’ experience with direct clinical care of PLHIV, including prescribing ARVs
    MUST have a current Certificate of Good Clinical Practice
    MUST have a Certificate in Human Subject Protection
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Keen attention to detail
    Certification in the National Advanced HIV Clinical Course
    Leadership experience in HIV programs is an added advantage

The project addressed One Health, the concept that the health of people, animals and the environment are inextricably linked. The position The project is recruiting two post-doctoral research associates in interests in understanding and improving human and animal health in Africa by making advances in the fields if inter-linkages of human, animal and ecosystems health. The successful candidate will be based in Kenya.
