    Job Summary: The main purpose of the job is to authenticate billings for patients under cash, insurance and NHIF cover in an accurate and timely manner for claims processing.
    Job Specifications/Qualification

    Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution
    Proficiency in use Health Management Information Systems
    Computer Literacy (Microsoft packages)
    Previous experience in quality assurance will be an added advantage

    Job Description

    Patient registration, documentation and the formalities (documents/forms required at every stage by the insurance companies
    Understanding on general practice the procedures and care and the period of stay as well as standard equipment and drugs
    Audit of real time procedures as well as the completeness of documentation of the completed procedures
    Ensure safe custody of all documents/LOUs /Guarantee of Payments used in discharging Corporate clients
    Serve and protect the hospital’s image by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures
    Follow up with insurance companies, NHIF and other corporate players for timely payment of claims
    Review the discharge sheets for accuracy and completion to prepare billing statements
    Analyze invoices and data, prepare reports and respond to inquiries concerning billing activities
    Check insurance/corporate/ NHIF documents for authenticity and validity
    To perform any other duties as assigned by the management

    Overall Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other Management and Financial projects. Overseeing the day to day administration of the Audit Department.
    Deliver the St. Theresa’s Mission Hospital Audit Management Strategy.
    Designing, reviewing, and developing Audit techniques and procedures for assessing comprehensive financial and systems audit reporting.
    Carry out compliance of management of resource utilization / financial and policy adherence.
    Develop and implement a Risk Based Management strategy for the Hospital. Maintenance of discipline and professionalism of the staff within the Audit Department. Any other duties as may be allocated by the CEO.

    Job Requirements

    CPA (K), ACCA and a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Audit, Finance Business Management or related field.
    At least two years auditing experience in a large organization.
    Experience in Health Care Institution will be an added advantage.
    Excellent computer skills are essential.
    Experience in working with the Hospital Management Information system will be a definite advantage.
    Should possess a good knowledge of administration and procurement processes.

    Medical Officer Job Responsibilities
     
    Monitoring and providing appropriate clinical care (medical and surgical) to patients on hospital wards and in outpatient clinics
    Admitting patients requiring special care followed by investigations and treatment
    Examining and talking to patients to diagnose their medical conditions;
    Carrying out specific procedures, e.g. performing operations and specialist investigations.
    Making notes and preparing paperwork, both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals.
    Issuing a preliminary discharge summary to each patient prior to them leaving hospital, in accordance with service specifications.
    Maintaining patient rights, and be aware of cultural differences when dealing with patients.
    Liaising with other medical and non-medical staff in the hospital to ensure quality treatment.
    Reporting on-call (off shifts, weekends and holidays) as scheduled.
    Ensuring that comprehensive hospital medical records for all in and outpatients are accurately.
    Providing educational and clinical experience for clinical staff.

    Requirements for the Medical Officer Job
     
    Degree in Medicine and Surgery with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
