    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
    Strategic Portfolio Planning:

    Review the pipeline and portfolio in the region to assess if it meets the cost of doing business for full strategy delivery in coordination with PDQ, Finance and Operations.
    Prepare monthly KPI commentary analysis and on request working with NBD, use information from AMS and Power BI to provide sound trend portfolio analysis reports.
    Participate in monthly performance review calls with Country offices by demonstrating the impact of the analysis on better quality programming and use of analysis in East and Southern African region.
    Working with the Regional and Centre analysts, on a regular basis and on request, use information from AMS and Power BI to provide sound trend portfolio analysis reports.
    Risk Management:  
    Use key performance indicators, other Awards management information and the portfolio analysis reports to identify and address operational issues that could impact negatively on the delivery of programmes and jeopardize SCI commitments to donors and beneficiaries.
    Lead on award monitoring with a focus on critical and high-risk awards. On a monthly basis, support the Head of Strategic Portfolio and Awards Management to maintain a log of key issues identified.
    Support the Head of Strategic Portfolio and Awards Management in reviewing the Country offices quarterly risk management plans and highlighting any new areas of risk.
    Award Management Systems, Processes and Essential Standards
    In collaboration with the Country Office Award Leads, ensure effective dissemination of award information. Ensuring that all key contributing staff have a clear understanding of Save the Children policies, procedures, processes and donor requirements and expectations throughout the lifecycle of an award (opportunity to close-out).
    Support the Country Offices Award Leads in embedding of Award Management processes i.e. Award Kick-off, Reviews and close-out meetings throughout the entire Awards cycle.
    Support the Country Award Leads to improve the Award Management standards working with other functions such as Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, M&E to ensure accountable reporting to donors.
    Support in the rollout of High Performing Organisation (HPO) projects including Coding, PMM/PRIME, AMLP, RFT.
    Support the Country Offices in improvement of the Awards Key Performance Indicators. Where appropriate coordinate the internal processes for preparation of timely and high-quality donor reports.
    Facilitate effective and prompt communication by relevant staff within Save the Children funding members and donors on their awards.
    Support award closeout process, helping Country Office project managers and Award teams to ensure all tasks are completed on time as per the close out checklist and that all required close-out documentations are kept on file.
    Promote a culture of learning and improvement on awards management throughout the region by sharing best practices.

    Donor Compliance

    Ensure effective dissemination of donor compliance requirements and guidance from Save the Children members to our country offices.
    Support in Liaising with members to ensure that all appropriate donor requirements/ are available in-country and in the donor resource library.
    Strengthen donor compliance across all the Country Offices in the region and be the go-to-person on rules and regulations for key donors i.e. USAID, EU, DFID, ECHO, NORAD, IGAD
    Support the Head of Awards Management to identify potential compliance issues and amendment requests and ensure they are flagged promptly to donors via the relevant Save the Children member.
    Support the country offices to ensure robust and comprehensive donor records are maintained for all awards to meet audit requirements.
    Work with internal and external auditors as necessary.
    Conduct regular donor compliance trainings and Webinars.
    Develop donor compliance review checklists and follow on quarterly basis to ensure the regional programme and Country Offices are aware and compliant.
    Partnerships – Sub awards and sub grantee management
    In collaboration with the Centre and the CO’s Partnership Focal Points, ensure that the partnership policies and procedures are understood and used in all the CO’s.
    Support program staff to comply with Save the Children partnership policies and procedures, and ensure all implementing partners undergo legal vetting on AMS and preparation of partner agreements are undertaken as per partnership processes to ensure donor compliance.
    Capacity building and compliance support to CO’s to ensure all new and existing partners have regular monitoring and systems in place so that partner delivery meets donor expectations and requirements, in collaboration with programme operations.
    Ensure that the partner data integrity and completeness of information in the system for all partner documentation including reports is uploaded onto AMS through spot checks of AMS data.
    Coordinate the monthly calls with Partnership Focal points to discuss partnership management and share best practices.
    Award Management System (AMS)
    Monitor that all awards have all documentation as required uploaded and updated on AMS.
    Support Country offices with system support where needed.
    Drive AMS data quality in the region by ensuring AMS system is an accurate reflection of current award status at all times; including partner sub-awards and all attachments.
    Capacity Building
    Assess capacity building needs for awards and programmes staff in the region
    Coordinate and facilitate trainings and webinars to address the gaps identified.
    Develop training modules, awards management guidance tools
    Plan and Facilitate Awards Management Community of Practice Sessions

    Others

    Step in and back stop the Head of Strategic portfolio and Awards management as and when requested.
    Work closely with members, other functions (Operations, Finance, NBD), the regional Awards team to deliver on the team objectives including any other duties not prescribed above.
    Establish strong links with SCI Centre Awards team and networking with Awards teams in the region.
    Country office support visits as requested by the Head of Strategic portfolio and Awards management.

    Undergraduate Degree in Business, Social Sciences, Finance, Accounting or any other related degree
    Minimum 5 years’ working in International Development with a specific emphasis of Fund Management, Project Management and / or Risk Management
    At Least 3 years’ experience managing and / or implementing USAID/USG grants or contracts
    Knowledge of guidelines / regulations and reporting requirements of major donors such as EU, DFID, ECHO, UN agencies, DANIDA.

    This role is an exciting opportunity to join the PFIP team to lead and collaborate on key projects supporting our Market and Governance Development workstreams. The role will work closely with the Global Head of Institutional Partnership Development & Growth and Global Lead for Institutional Funding Governance & Risk Assurance to deliver strategic inputs to support delivery of the Global Funding Framework.     ROLE PURPOSE:
    To coordinate effective implementation of education in the refugee and the host Community, inter-camp coordination, and monitoring of activities. The holder will be responsible for effective budget management and utilization as well as quality internal and donor reporting. The education coordinator will be responsible for effective project management, implementation and supporting teachers and other education staff. The position will work across all the three camps and support the digital literacy project, the alternative basic education project and the ECDE project in Dadaab. The role holder will also be tasked to supporting the education consortium members and providing technical guidance.
    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
    PROGRAM DELIVERY

    Performance management and supervision of all Education staff.
    Lead and motivate the education Team to ensure effective project implementation.
    Ensure key problems are brought to the attention of the Program Manager and other relevant senior staff for discussion and review.
    Develop planning documents- Phased budget, detailed implementation plan and procurement plans for the education projects and ensure timely implementation.
    Preparation of monthly education project reports and ensure consistent filing of all education documents.
    Work with MEAL to ensure updated project indicators and target beneficiaries.
    Digitize the record keeping for learners and ensure electronic files of all learners in the education program.
    Ensure that all relevant staff receives appropriate induction and training.
    Make regular support visits to camps.
    Monitoring and evaluation of programme activities:
    Maintain and update the education data base and ensure cross-referral between education and CP sectors.
    Management and supervision of ABE centres and capacity development of teachers.
    Work with project staff to assist in the development of new project proposals and the evaluation and documentation of programme activities.
    Mentor the relevant staff to facilitate the continued development of his project, budget and personnel management capacity.
    Lead in assessments, evaluations and report writing for all education related projects.
    Act as the consortium focal person with support from the PM.
    Update project tools in line with SCI project management platforms (PRIME).

    Monitoring , Evaluation and Reporting

    Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team for monitoring and evaluation of programme activities including taking corrective action where necessary.
    Ensure IPTT and indicator progress are updated on a monthly basis
    Document programme learning and ensuring it contributes to organizational advocacy.
    Maintain an up to date information pack of various aspects affecting the beneficiaries in liaison with the other program teams and do analysis of the reports.
    Ensure timely implementation of budgeted activities in addition to budget tracking and control and ensure clarity of reports on the various advocacy aspects in the camps.
    Develop and track quality project indicators and MEAL framework for education projects with support from the MEAL officer.

    Partnerships and coordination.

    Ensure close coordination of outreach activities with other agencies in the three camps to ensure complementarity and synergy.
    Compilation of the consortium members reports and data.
    Supporting the consortium partners- providing technical support and monitoring guidance.
    Build partnerships to enhance community participation, ownership and sustainability of programmes.
    Collaborate and coordinate with other child protection agencies, governmental institutions, host community partners and community level structures in order to promote community ownership and sustainability of education initiatives.
    Represent Save the Children and the in interagency working groups and camp coordination meetings and build from the strategies developed through the education Working Group.
    Represent the education programme and advocate with community, partners as well as other external visitors.  Liaise closely with other actors in the child protection sector on issues related to vulnerable children.  Ensure that consideration is given to their particular needs within general child protection strategies. 
    Where necessary, represent the Program Manager and Coordinators in meetings, both internal and external and engage with the Host Community partner.

    Grants Management and Accountability.

    Coordinate with finance and awards team to ensure effective budget monitoring for the project in line with donor requirements and contractual obligations, including Grant opening, mid-term and closing meetings.
    Coordinate the timely implementation of all grants and ensure sound and accurate expenditure.
    Proposal development – continuously analyse needs and develops concept notes, outlining clear areas of sensitization and awareness raising.
    Oversee project activities budget expenditures and ensure they are allowable and allocable according to SCI and donor regulations; review monthly Budget vs. Actual and expenditure sheets and collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate expenditures and reporting.
    Ensure timely production of activity/events reports as well as monthly reports as per the agreed timelines.

    The role of the Project and Change Manager – CMS will be to support the Project Lead to deliver on our CMS priorities for Save the Children to include ensuring we have a clear strategy and path to reach our defined outcomes. We have recently completed a feasibility and are now ready to move forwards to design and develop the required system and associated processes and supporting shared service. Upon joining, this role will be required to develop a detailed plan for delivery of the project and work with the wider Project and Change team to refine our existing methodology to enable agile working. The role will have a key role in the tender process for an implementing partner to support the design / development and will be required to ensure close management of the plan holding relevant parties accountable for their delivery in support of the Project Lead. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for further developing existing project management practices utilising SCA’s Project Lifecycle, managing relationships with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvements. This role also requires the holder to work closely with the Global Fundraising Department and Fundraising Leads for Save the Children, from across the globe.
    Alongside the project management responsibilities, this role will also be responsible for managing the end-to-end change and deployment deliverables specific to the project including regular communication to stakeholders to inform, engage and motivate the impacted functions ensuring acceptance and necessary buy in as well as completion of the required preparatory steps. The role will also be required to work closely with the Business Analyst.
    In terms of deliverables, the role holder will be responsible for all items as outlined in the Project Lifecycle and Change Approach that are relevant to this deployment, examples include the Project Plan, stakeholder matrix, Change and Comms Plan, Change Impact Assessment etc. Core to this role will be ensuring effectively alignment with wider transformation initiatives as well as effectively managing relationships with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvements.

The Global P&P Team at SCI is tasked with supporting Save the Children’s members to build their P&P capacity and further diversify our international member income base. P&P therefore needs a highly capable proposal writer who can engage directly with other teams across SCI to deliver timely and high quality content and fundraising propositions for P&P donors and partners. Engaging directly with other fundraising and technical teams across SCI, including the Global Goal and the Communications and Engagement Teams. The proposal writer will create strong, high quality fundraising content and proposals, tailored for P&P audiences, which fundraisers will use to deliver the income needed to realise our ambition.
    The Proposal Writer will:

    Create bespoke content for P&P fundraisers so we can bring compelling propositions to P&P prospects rapidly and responsively
    Actively seek and identify fundraising collateral that aligns with Save the Children’s strategic priorities, adapt if necessary, and distribute to P&P fundraising communities
    Work closely with the P&P Project and Content Manager to manage content storage so it is easily accessible by fundraisers across the movement.
    Adapt and produce fundraising toolkits and talking points for fundraisers in quick response to sudden-onset humanitarian crises, in coordination with other teams
    Coordinate with other content producers across the movement, including SCI Centre, Save the Children UK and US, to collate and distribute the best content, and prevent duplication of effort
