    Key Responsibilities
    Donor and Grant Management Support:

    Support the corporate/major donor income stream.
    Support Africa fundraising and assist the fundraisers with the whole donor cycle.
    Communicate regularly with the Africa fundraisers in order to support their fundraising efforts and provide them with relevant information about the projects/programs.
    Gather and consolidate project information for funding.
    Support donor reporting and account management by gathering and consolidating project reports (narrative, financial, photos, family stories, etc.).
    Confirm reports are submitted on time, in donor templates and are of appropriate quality.
    Prepare all grant-related documentation and paperwork.
    Gather information for the development of concept notes and proposals and coordinate the international aspect of the various departments/stakeholders involved in the phase of acquiring the funding.
    In cooperation with all relevant departments, support the smooth running of partnerships and grants by ensuring reporting deadlines are met and on time, partnerships are renewed, invoices are issued, funds are received and allocated/coded, etc.
    Support the national office (NO) and area office (AO) team in planning, promotion and development of donor events in the Africa region.
    Ensure volunteer teams include all the donor’s requests.

    Tithes & Designated Donations Income Stream

    Support tithes distribution to NOs. Ensure that the communication with the affiliates is done regularly, the calls, presentations and meetings are of good quality.
    Support the HQ tithes team with regular communication with the NOs, affiliates, scheduling the calls, visits, Global Village trips, and all related support to the tithe’s income of more than $2.5m with the aim of increasing this income.
    Support Africa NOs’ related tithes management, relations with US affiliates and other designated donors in their funding for Africa.
    Make sure reports are submitted on time and are of appropriate quality. Also gather information for the development of concept notes and coordinate the funding with various departments.
    Prepare the tithes funds-related documentation and paperwork.

    In Later Stages Also

    Research new fundraising opportunities.
    Support the NOs with advice on high-quality and tailored presentations and other documents for donor meetings, proposals etc.

    Data, Files And Information Management

    Perform data entry and maintain accurate donor records for regional and national donors in HFHI’s donor database and prospect pipeline.
    Ensure all relevant files are saved locally and on the cloud server to ensure other teams accessibility as well as internal audit controls.
    Coordinate as needed with other relevant HFHI teams and national offices to facilitate cross-border fundraising efforts.
    Keep accurate records on projects and income and support with preparing internal quarterly reports, divisional objectives, etc.
    Provide regular donor giving reports and history to the fundraising team, senior staff and other fundraisers as requested.

    Other

    Promote and maintain Habitat’s name and activities.
    Provide high-quality support to HFHI Resource Development department and out-of-door fundraisers.
    Assist with document and knowledge sharing among fundraisers.
    Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned.

    Key Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in International Development, International Relations, European Studies, Social Sciences, Communications/Marketing, Business or other related fields.
    3-5 years of professional experience coordinating and managing complex projects and communicating with various stakeholders.

    The overall objective of this assignment is to carry out a needs assessment for Homa Bay County and identify the existing needs that hinders the achievement of land security of tenure in the county and develop a comprehensive capacity building plan for addressing the identified needs.
    Specific Objectives
    The specific objectives for this assignment include:

    To identify all gaps/needs hindering the land titling and security of tenure advocacy in Homa Bay County.
    To assess the skills and knowledge of staff, decision makers that could promote or hinder the security of land tenure in Homa Bay County.
    To identify and assess the existence of laws and policies that promote land security of tenure, information management system and digitization of titling.
    Develop a capacity building plan for addressing the identified needs.

    SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
    This assignment will be limited to the needs assessment of Homa bay county’s capacity to handle land security of tenure in regard to land information management system, titling digitization and the ability to provide title deeds efficiently to the residents for enhanced security of tenure. The consultant will seek to identify the existing gaps and hindrances that could be addressed to achieve security of tenure in the county. The final report should include detailed description of the prevailing situation at the county’s land department and in relation to other departments within the county not forgetting the budget allocation, policies and capacity of staff to implement the digitized systems.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The consultant will:

    Identify the existing relevant requirements for achievement of land security of tenure including digital records, land management information system and assess their efficiency.
    Assess the existence of laws and policies that relates to land security of tenure and land information management system in the county.
    Identify all the gaps in the land department that could hinder the issuance of land title deeds.
    Conduct a SWOT analysis of the county’s land security of tenure management process.
    Assess the county’s engagement with the civil society organizations on land security of tenure.
    Assess the budget allocation trends for the lands department and verify availability of funds for land management information system and digitization of titling processes.
    Produce a comprehensive final report on the needs assessment with key recommendations.
    Assess the understanding of policy makers on issues of land security of tenure and land information management system.
    Assess the capacity of staff to effectively issue title deeds and manage land information management system.
    Assess the compliance levels of the county to the requirements of the national government on land policies, titling and other procedures.
    Identify areas where the county needs support and capacity building for them to achieve security of land tenure.
    Develop a capacity building plan based on the identified needs.

    Regional Senior MEAL Specialist

    The Regional Senior MEAL Specialist reports to the Regional Director, East Africa. They are responsible for establishing and implementing a MEAL strategy for the region; they will adapt and implement MEAL guidelines and tools throughout EMEA East Africa region and provides support with organizational MEAL and related standards. The purpose of the position is to support the improvement of program and project efficiency and effectiveness, decision making and learning during the project life cycle through Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning. In carrying out their work, the Regional Senior MEAL Specialist interacts with other Regional Office (RO), National Organizations (NO), Area Office (AO) and Head Quarter (HQ) staff, partner organizations and contracted subject matter experts (SMEs).
    Key Responsibilities
    Planning and coordination:

    Develop and implement a MEAL strategy for the region including integration of HFHI’s international Theory of Change (TOC).
    Advocating for and securing resourcing for MEAL.
    Adapt and continue to develop MEAL methodology, approaches and tools, and provide support and guidance to Regional Office (RO) and National Organization (RO) staff to ensure their proper use.
    In collaboration with program/project teams supports the development of RO, NO, and project capacity to ensure that MEAL standards and good practices are properly integrated in all phases of the project life cycle.
    Provides support to NOs and projects to ensure that they meet HFHI MEAL standards and good MEAL practices. Coordinate input from regional NOs to further develop HFHI’s international TOC. Represent the region where required

    Technical support for MEAL policy, standards, procedures and tools implementation:

    Be an active member of Habitat’s global MEAL Leadership Team, contributing 30% of time to global MEAL efforts coordinated by HFHI’s Global MEAL Manager.
    Participate in program/project design and proposal writing in the areas of theory of change, logframe design, MEAL plan and budget development.
    Advise and support program/project teams on quality data gathering and analysis to facilitate informed program and project design.
    Provide research, planning and evaluation guidance and tools for the implementation of new / pilot housing programs, and assist NOs in research and analysis for the development of new programs as requested.
    Support program/project teams to set up accountability mechanisms to beneficiaries and community members. Review the responsive use of accountability mechanisms, data and responses.
    Support and follow up on research, evaluations and learning events to document lessons learned and best practices from interventions. Prepare or review terms of reference for external evaluators and coordinate collaboration with them.

    Knowledge Management, Reporting And Learning

    Support National organizations in the use of HFHI metrics tools and data reporting, review project data collection and reporting (Global Metrics Tool and related) for data quality and make recommendations for improvement.
    Oversee the implementation of data management tools for process and quality improvement.
    Conduct analysis of project and program results to support evidence-based program decision making and program quality improvement, using appropriate software as necessary.
    Ensure that analysis of evaluation findings and recommendations feedback into improved program quality, evidenced in subsequent program designs.

    Capacity Development

    Coordinate NO capacity assessments and review of MEAL systems to identify process, systems and capacity gaps.
    Support NOs in the development of MEAL process, system and capacity building plan.
    In line with global MEAL plan, support capacity development of NO staff in the area of MEAL.
    Develop materials and facilitate learning events that build capacity through MEAL and project management.

    Collaboration

    Participate in HFHI relevant communities of practice and collaborate with counterparts within HFHI network as required.
    Establish an external network of organizations and individual experts for joint projects and contractual work.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field, especially in the social sciences, social work, or program evaluation areas.
    Specialization and/or professional certification in monitoring, evaluation, accountability to affected populations, participatory approaches, or learning approaches.
    Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably with a development organization.

    Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented finance professional for the role of a Manager – Housing Finance Systems. The purpose of this position is to support, manage and deliver Housing Finance Systems (HFS) related interventions by working with both private and public sector partners through a market systems approach. Working with the Global Habitat team and Habitat’s Africa National Offices (NO’s) to strengthen the overall housing market system and apply a systemic approach, the HFS Manager will work to support access and utilization of affordable financial services throughout the entire housing market system with the goal of improving the accessibility and affordability of housing finance solutions in the region.     KEY DELIVERABLES

    Training materials – tools and PPTs: All relevant tools and PPTs – a draft of these should be submitted prior to the training for review by the area office
    Provide a post training report – that includes a summary of the event, annexes with the tools, separate files with the PPTs, and lessons learned including current capacity development opportunities
    The successful applicant will work in coordination with the area office and other presentations that will take place and will actively seek review and feedback from the area office.     Soft copies of all data sets both quantitative and qualitative.
    The geophysical interpretation model and the graphical plot of the curve and model for the hydrological survey.
    Soft copy of topography or google map for the survey area indicating clearly the borehole points and the villages.
    Any other non-consumable documents/items that will be used in the course of the planned consultancy.

    Qualification and Experience
    The potential Consultant should have the following qualifications;

    A Master or postgraduate degree in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geophysics or Environmental Sciences or engineering or water engineering.
    Must be registered by the Geological Registration Board and preferably an active member of the Geological Society of Kenya (GSK).
    A consultancy firm with proof of previous record of conducting hydrological research will be an added advantage.
    Knowledge of integrated water management and its relations to adequate and affordable housing and the challenges inherent in the country and/or professional experience working in the sector.
    At least 10 years proven experience in conducting and interpreting hydrological/geophysical survey using diverse techniques
    Proven experience in drilling supervision and borehole documentation.
    A reliable and effective analyst with extensive experience in conducting analyses and a proven record of delivering professional results
    Excellent computer skills and desirable skills in Arc GIS and groundwater modelling software’s.
    Excellent presentation and report writing skills.

    Required:

    Must be a university student, pursing degree in sociology, anthropology, public policy, international relations, development studies. Completed bachelor’s degree is an advantage
    Openness to learn and ability to process information
    Excellent command of English, especially in writing, French would be an added advantage.
