    Greenpeace International’s (GPI’s) International Finance Unit is looking for a skilled and hard-working Financial Accountant to join the team and support with financial accounting and technical expertise.
    In this role you will work hands on at both the transactional level and also act as a sparring partner to the Financial Controller on technical accounting issues. You’ll be responsible for integrity of financial information of national and regional office (NRO) related transactions and act as the business partner for the Global Finance team.
    Additionally, you’ll work to ensure that financial policies and procedures are up to date and comprehensive and reviewed on a regular basis. You’ll be integral to the success of the GPI Finance team, supporting the delivery of financial reports and ensuring the quality of underlying information.
    Job requirements

    Accounting Studies degree or (part) qualified professional accounting qualification, e.g ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
    Sufficient relevant experience in an accounting function, preferably in an international organization.
    Strong technical accounting background.
    Intermediate to advanced level of MS Excel.

    Greenpeace International is looking for two Senior Campaign Strategists to support our Urban Justice work, which aims at collaborating with vibrant urban movements in the Global South in order to connect social justice issues with the climate emergency discussions at the city level to enable/support a critical mass of people who can push for bigger climate justice ambition on local and national level.
    Reporting to the Global Campaign Lead, you will actively contribute to advancing the overall Urban Justice goals, supporting our National and Regional office teams in developing and delivering high quality, strategic and impactful projects.
    Your role will be to provide high-level expertise, as well as take the lead in creating opportunities for skill and information sharing between our NRO’s and external stakeholders. Ensuring the team collaborates, shares best practices, lessons learnt and has space to bring innovative ideas to the projects, will be an essential part of your role.
    The two Strategists will also play a key role in developing an internal knowledge hub for Urban Justice issues and in building and nurturing a community of Urban Justice practitioners across the global organization.
    This is an opportunity for a 12 months temporary contract, or for a secondment (details to be discussed and confirmed), either from another Greenpeace organization, or potentially from a like-minded organization, especially for candidates who have lived experience in the Global South.
    Job requirements

    Substantial demonstrable experience as a campaigner in the Global South, with a track record of planning, implementing and evaluating successful projects about environmental and/or social issues
    Significant professional experience in fields related to Urban Justice (such as right and access to the city, urban planning, transportation, housing, urban climate change, social inequalities in cities, waste, energy, green spaces, informal economy, etc), with a strong preference for that experience being within a public advocacy or campaigning context

    Purpose of the job
    The Content Editor aligns Greenpeace’s multi-channel communications output with strategic goals as outlined by the Global Programme Goals. By working closely with an international network of communications hubs, the Editor helps maintain a 24/7 news desk to respond to inquiries and distribute content across all of Greenpeace International’s channels. 
    The Editor amplifies the reach and impact of Greenpeace content by selectively distributing national and international stories to global audiences; connecting organisational projects, events and environmental stories to reflect the global nature of ecological work and impacts; responding to breaking news of regional significance; actively monitoring, engaging in traditional and digital media; managing a global output  calendar with the Managing Editor; and providing strategic support to priority NROs and projects. 
    The role also supports social media output from ships, and large-scale rapid response in the region.
    What your duties will be (in a nutshell):
    Drawing on material mostly produced by Greenpeace’s national regional offices (NROs), you will extend the reach and impact of campaigns by curating and repackaging content for use across Greenpeace International’s digital platforms. You will also provide expertise and creativity to support NROs, campaign projects and allies to amplify their message — by identifying news and story angles and co-creating impactful communications plans and output. You will handle external and internal inquiries, actively supervise and engage traditional and social media, help run a global comms planning calendar, and respond to disruptive external events and organisational risks. You will keep up-to-date with trends and share knowledge with colleagues across the Greenpeace network.

    Main responsibilities
    Content coordination and strategic input 
    Work closely with Managing Editor, National Regional Organisations, other communications Hubs and global campaign projects on a daily basis to leverage a mix of traditional, in-house and digital media platforms to distribute relevant content globally, both proactive and reactive. Give input on strategies for promoting content and engaging global supporters. Suggest content, provide insight on which story angles and platforms will be most effective, and advise campaign projects on forthcoming opportunities and help generate ideas for strategic new content. Produce, curate, edit, proofread, and aggregate content and commission translations where appropriate.
    Identify and implement projects to engage with new audiences in creative ways, in order to support global programme priorities.
    Knowledge of media and technology 
    Stay abreast of new and developing communication technologies in order to ensure that Greenpeace is poised to capitalize on new platforms as they emerge. Maintain a strong understanding and up-to-date knowledge of the digital media landscape in the region and globally.

    Build relationships with internal stakeholders in NROs and GPI to facilitate strong global projects. Uphold relationships with key media influencers. Attend relevant meetings & conferences to network, spot trends and innovation, and maximize these for the benefit of the organization.
    Media Monitoring and analytics tracking 
    Maintain real-time monitoring across relevant communications streams (traditional and digital media) in the region to identify opportunities for reactive media relations and campaigning, as well as Greenpeace’s impact on relevant public conversations. Identify gaps on global priorities and support project teams on monitoring media, providing insights on how campaigns are doing and what can be improved.
    Work with the Global Insights team to analyse GPI’s digital channels’ performances and report to the global team and wider organization.

    Responsive communication and rapid response 
    Scan external events or incidents that offer opportunities for the organisation and/or reputational threats to the organization, as directed by the Managing Editor. Provide assistance to National Regional Organisations with ship visits/planning and responsive communications strategy as requested. 
    Protocols and standards 
    Contributes to the development of policies and positions that support high quality communications output as set in the Global Engagement Plan; facilitate communities of practices  in the region and update and ensure editorial guidelines are adhered to. Prioritise equity, diversity and inclusion within our work.
    Writing, editing and pitching
    Prepare and/or edit features, blogs, press materials, visual materials and social media content. Identify opportunities to further campaign, NRO, and global programme goals with editorial output and multimedia content. Match topics to authors to deploy the varied expertise across NROs and GPI to create impactful content experiences that amplify global priorities.
    Social Media and Community Management

    Minimum Requirements for this post include:

    Relevant post graduate degree in Human Resources or equivalent
    10+ years of experience in desired role with deep experience working across the full HR Value Chain
    Experience operating at EXCO level preferred
    Strategy design and formulation
    Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
    Experience in negotiations and consultation as well as conflict resolution
    Policy design and formulation
    Spoken and written French an advantage
    Experience within the NGO sector
    A good understanding of the legislative framework governing the NGO sector within Africa

    Director: Human Resources

    The Director: HR will be responsible for conceptualising, initiating, planning, directing, implementing and managing the staff and organisational development strategies of GPAf. This will involve various strategies related tHR systems, remuneration, job evaluation, learning, training and staff development, capacity building, retention, performance management, workforce and succession planning, organisational climate, diversity management and employment equity.
    The Director:HR will alsbe responsible for the efficient and effective Employee and Labour Relations services tall levels of staff; for managing the relationship with the Unions/Workplace Forum as a member of the negotiating team and for the development of all policy and strategy in this area.
    As the Director: Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for:
