    Handling the development of advocacy strategy for the sub-national dashboard and the subsequent advocacy efforts targeting national and county government

    About You

    The ideal candidate should have experience in policy and/or budget advocacy, strategic planning, and project management. You should have experience working with stakeholders from business, civil society, government, donors at national international level. Candidate with familiarity with food systems including food industry, nutrition, and public health issues and national-level governance systems and politics is highly desirable.
    The postholder should have excellent command of written and spoken English and Portuguese as well as proven ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and results-driven environment. Candidate should have ability to work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders from business, farmers, civil society, academia, consumers, etc. In addition, you should be highly flexible and willing to travel within and outside Kenya.
    You should have knowledge of policy development and planning work within a government setting that involves public private engagement. University degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Business or Public Administration, Public Policy or related field.     About the Role
    Reporting to the Senior Cluster Lead, Food Fortification, the Programme Lead will be responsible for building out GAIN’s programming in commercialisation of nutrient enriched crops (biofortified crops) through programme design, technical support to country programmes, and supporting on-time and on-budget delivery across all country programmes.
    The postholder will manage GAIN’s engagement with our partner organisations, specifically around commercialisation and marketing of biofortified crops. You will bring excellent portfolio management skills to the relationship between GAIN and our other partners and take a lead role within GAIN in supporting the execution of scaling up and the commercialisation of nutrient enriched crops / biofortified crops strategy.
    Key Responsibilities include;

    Providing technical oversight to the implementation of activities that bring biofortified crops to scale through commercialisation activities such as production delivery models and supply chain and market development initiatives
    Co-leading on the development of detailed workplans to support the commercialisation of biofortified crops in Asia and Africa, whilst clarifying how GAIN and our partners will ensure impact, scale, and sustainability in a small number of strategically selected geographies
    Supporting the design process in GAIN countries and providing technical know-how to deliver strategically relevant, sound, and feasible project design
    Working closely with GAIN’s Knowledge Leadership team and our partner’s monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure measurable and effective monitoring and tracking targets are in place, and evaluation and learning takes place within the commercialization activities
    Providing guidance to GAIN’s country teams on strategy development, state of the field, and the positioning of commercialization of biofortified crops programme
    In existing global fora, contribute strategic direction and good practice to build strong evidence-based approaches to commercialisation of biofortified crops and nutrient rich agricultural commodities
    Supporting resource mobilization for commercialization of biofortified crops programmes and relationship management with funders
    Developing and managing relationships with other organisations active in the biofortification and commercialisation of agricultural commodities space
    Supporting delivery of a dissemination and visibility plan (including by leading on dissemination workshops, manuscripts, publications, blogs, white papers, articles, factsheets, brief), alongside GAIN’s Knowledge Leadership, Communications and Country programmes teams, as well as with GAIN’s partners
    Protecting and promoting the effective functioning of the project management Quad system

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in managing multi-country, multi-donor, multi-partner consortium projects of $10M or more, ideally with experience in implementing large market-based nutrition programs and projects.
    You will have a substantial level of professional experience directly or indirectly related to marketing foods, new product category development, supply chains and international development.
    You should also have the ability to operate within the private and public sectors to effectively liaise with food enterprises, development agencies, and governments at senior level. Candidates with strong business-to-business (B2B) development skills, trade marketing, or partnership management with private and public experience is preferable.
    You should have previous experience of leading and managing a team and possess excellent representational, strategic, and diplomatic abilities to represent GAIN and our partners. Candidates must have excellent written/verbal communications, research, writing skills, and should be willing and able to work in multicultural and multilingual environments.
    The postholder should have Bachelors’ degree in Business and Marketing, Food Technology, Development Studies, Economics, Agricultural Development or related fields. You should be highly flexible and willing to travel in challenging environments.

    About the role
    GAIN and CARE Kenya are currently implementing a project known as CASCADE whose goal is to improve food security and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition amongst women of reproductive age and children under 5 in Kenya. The programme has two strategic objectives: it aims to increase access to and consumption of healthy diets, as well as increasing the resilience of households to economic and climate change-related shocks across in three counties in Kenya, with a focus on women of reproductive age and children.   
    Reporting to the Influencing and Advocacy Manager, the Social Protection Associate will contribute to the implementation of GAIN’s social protection programs, including policy and advocacy support. The successful candidate will support on social protection to ensure our programmes have a social protection lens. 
    Key Responsibilities include.

    In consultation with the programme team provide support on social protection to ensure our programmes have social protection lens. 
    Support with the updating of the repository of policy documents that are relevant to social protection. 
    Support with the development of PowerPoint presentations and relevant briefing documents to support stakeholder engagement and influencing.  
    Support the development of social protection materials for target audiences as needed. 
    Contribute to drafting reports, policy papers and briefs, factsheets and other documents which synthesize. GAIN learnings, values, and priorities on social protection .
    Support with stakeholder analysis and social protection needs mapping in Kenya. 
    Provide an inventory of partners and stakeholders who are involved in social protection.

     Perform matchmaking between TA requirements and service providers, manage engagements between GAIN, service providers, and our beneficiaries.
     Oversee the implementation of project workplans and ensure that all assignments deliver maximum value for money.
     Fine-tune documented procedures, monitoring mechanisms, and feedback forms for the provision of TA to SMEs.
     Identify and perform due diligence on a roster of qualified service providers in N3F’s scoping countries.
     Manage the roster of GAIN’s internal TA capabilities and service providers.

    About the Role
    Nutrition Connect is GAIN’s knowledge mobilisation platform aimed at sharing evidence and experience around public private engagement for nutrition. The platform forms part of GAIN’s efforts to support understanding and action for nutrition by a wide range of actors, from governments to businesses, NGOs, academia and civil society, it aims to address knowledge gaps around how to catalyse markets for safe and nutritious foods produced sustainably, especially to meet the needs of better diets for poorer consumers.
    Reporting to the Manager, Knowledge Management and Mobilization, you will work closely with the Communication team to ensure content alignment, coordinated social outreach and media work and standard practices. The Associate will manage the day-to-day operations necessary for the maintenance and development of Nutrition Connect (NC). Their areas of focus will include content management and generation, communications outreach and engagement and project management.
    Key Responsibilities include;

    Ensuring regular and engaging content is planned and populated on Nutrition Connect (NC) and relevant other social and communication/ advocacy channels
    Monitoring site and social performance (via e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar) to understand how users are accessing and using the site, and adjusting content as needed to anticipate and meet emerging needs and topics of interest

    About You

    The ideal candidate should have proven experience in communications, website management and social media platforms.

    Hands-on experience working in a low- or middle-income country would be an asset.

    About the Role
    Reporting to the Director of the Country Programmes Team, the Project Management Advisor will work closely with country offices and other technical services teams to conceptualize, design and deliver programmes and projects across our GAIN’s portfolio work. They will lead the ongoing development and improvement of our project management processes, procedures and tools, as the custodian of the GAIN Project Management Guidelines (PMG).
    The post-holder will be expected to quickly develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and they will be responsible for influencing and reconciling stakeholders’ interests to ensure effective Project design and delivery across GAIN.
    Key specifics include:

    Leading and facilitating the design and conceptualization of projects using the GAIN Project Management framework
    Facilitating discussions and relationships between GAIN countries and technical services teams

    About You

NIS works work with Enterprise/SME Support Organizations to provide tools and resources to scale nutrition impact. The program is implemented in six African countries.
    NIS is a program within GAIN’s Nutrition Enterprise Unit. The unit is GAIN’s centre of expertise on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in nutritious food value chains.
    Specific Responsibilities include:

    Support the selection of program partners
    Support the use and continuous improvement of the program Standard Operating Process
    Collect and compile indicator information and progress reports, including project dashboards, for the project.
