    About You

    The ideal candidate will have substantial management experience (some of which must have been in a senior leadership position) in leading international/economic development projects in multi-cultural environments working with and through governments, the private sector, civil society, and other partnerships.
    You will have strong experience in donor reporting, designing, setting up and coordinating, monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment systems and processes.
    The postholder will have experience in building effective personal networks at a senior level, showing track record on successful fundraising with statutory, private and corporate donors. Also, you will have strong people management and leadership experience within a multicultural environment.
    The postholder will have demonstrated in‐depth understanding of program issues and policy work at organizational, national and international levels and understanding of key trends in international and humanitarian development.
    Also, you will have broad understanding of the nutrition-food systems nexus, public health and community development.
    The postholder should possess excellent management and leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills in presenting clear and structured argument and work under a multicultural team.
    You will be fluent in written and spoken English and proficiency in Kiswahili is highly desirable.
    In addition, you should be highly flexible and willing and able to travel in Country and overseas as and when required.
    A Master’ degree preferably in Nutrition, Food Science/Technology, Agriculture, Public Health, Development or related field.

    About the Role
    The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Compensation and Benefits, Partner to serve as the subject matter expert in all aspects of Compensation and Benefits(C&B). This role will be offered on a 1.5-year fixed term contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya. 
    The Compensation and Benefits Partner will play a critical role in the development, update and implementation of the compensation and benefits strategy, frameworks, and standards for all GAIN offices, to attract, motivate and retain top talent across the organisation. They will collaborate with key stakeholders, including HR staff, finance, and senior leadership, to design and administer competitive compensation and rewards programs that align with oragnisational goals and support our commitment to employee engagement and performance.
    The role will also be responsible for ensuring all policies, processes and procedures relating to C&B and are reviewed and maintained regularly in addition to conducting the job evaluation process, salary reviews, benchmarking, and market surveys in various markets for all location offices where required.
    Key Responsibilities include

    Plan and execute work on the implementation of the annual and mid-year salary review processes which includes data coordination, modelling, and other analytical support as required in consultation with the Head of HR and the Director of Strategic Operations.
    Lead on the renewal process of monetary and non-monetary benefits by conducting market research and analysis and provide recommendations to ensure salaries and benefits comply with the current legislation, pay equity and GAIN’s policies.
    Lead on the development of all payroll initiatives including recommendations on process improvements in order to streamline and improve efficiency.
    Analyse published and custom cut country salary surveys; review appropriateness of current surveys and research and recommend new opportunities for obtaining salary and benefit data.
    Build Compensation & Benefits capacity in country offices by educating the various teams on GAIN’s Compensation and Benefits approach and framework as well as looking for opportunities and coordinating related trainings that can be provided.
    Remain connected to external trends and regulatory developments around Reward and be part of networks and forums as needed. 

    About you

    The ideal candidate should have experience developing compensation and benefits strategies and frameworks across countries. Experience in a similar role supporting multiple countries is highly preferred.  You should be able to design and administer competitive compensation and rewards programs that align with oragnisational goals.
    Expertise in conducting job evaluation processes, salary reviews, benchmarking, and market surveys is required to succeed in this role. The position holder will be required to engage with staff from various departments and senior leadership to design and administer competitive compensation and reward programs.
    You should posses advanced MS excel skills and able to interpret complex data, conduct market research, and provide data-driven recommendations. You should be knowledgeable in compensation principles and concepts, (including job analysis, market pricing, and total rewards), market trends, regulatory requirements and best practices. An educational background with a degree or equivalent in business/economics, HR management or related field is required.

    Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you will be responsible for strengthening and engaging GAIN’S online presence by ensuring our websites are functional, user-friendly, and aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
    You will support GAIN Communications team in website and digital campaign planning, coordination, and implementation, as well as general communications support for the team when needed. You will coordinate and work with other focal points in other countries and programmes and lead on website matters. The postholder will be responsible for facilitating communications with an external web agency and liaise with developers and multiple budgets to coordinate website creation and updating.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    Creating, upgrading, and maintaining website content, new interactive features and multimedia content, and ensuring web accessibility
    Ensuring that the GAIN’s website design is visually and content-wise appealing, intuitive, reaches the targeted audiences, providing positive user experience and troubleshooting any issues that may arise
    Organising, categorising, and managing website content using content management systems (CMS) or other relevant tools
    Overseeing domain registration and renewal, as well as managing web hosting accounts and server configurations. This encompasses GAIN’s partner websites
    Supporting UX design by assisting in creating wireframes and proposing new, streamlined designs in line with GAIN’s branding

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have proven experience in communication roles, preferably with links to website management, marketing, content creation, computer science, journalism, public relations or related area. You will have demonstrable experience working as a webmaster in a business environment using CMS tool such as Drupal (preferred), WordPress, Dreamweaver etc.
    You will also have experience in SEO, UX design and improving online customer journeys and working with and managing third party/external agencies.
    The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and willing and able to work in a multicultural environment. Also, you will have excellent creativity, writing and editing skills. FAO, WHO, SUN, UN Nutrition and climate organisations). This role will be on a 12 months’ fixed-term contract basis, subject to availability of funding. This position is open to GAIN’s country offices in New Delhi, Nairobi, London and Geneva.
    Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Policy and External Relations, you will lead on our I-CAN Initiative and to carry on the advancing work on the environment across our programmes, advocacy and operational work based on GAIN’s Environment Strategy. The GAIN strategy refresh 2022 – 2027 puts environment at the core of GAIN’s work and reiterates the commitment to make GAIN the ‘greenest nutrition organization both organizationally and programmatically’.
    The Initiative on Climate Action and Nutrition (I-CAN) is a multistakeholder, multisectoral global flagship initiative developed by Egypt as COP27 Presidency in partnership with GAIN, WHO, FAO, and SUN, with the goal of fostering collaboration to accelerate transformative action at the critical nexus of climate change and nutrition.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    Overseeing activities under I-CAN including defining the overall direction and strategy of the initiative and identifying new opportunities to scale up impact at the nexus of climate and nutrition
    Acting as the focal point for I-CAN, both internally (including to SMT and the Board) and externally, representing I-CAN at government and donor meetings, the I-CAN Working Group under the Alliance for Transformative Action on Climate and Health (ATACH), technical groups, seminars and conferences
    Generating resource mobilization opportunities in collaboration with GAIN leadership and I-CAN partners and leading on proposal development for future I-CAN work
    Driving knowledge management and learning sharing alongside I-CAN partners and GAIN’s Knowledge Leadership, Communications and Country Programmes teams

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have proven track record in leading multi-stakeholder initiatives, coalitions or campaigns on topics related to food systems, nutrition, climate change or other related environmental issues. You will possess demonstrable experience of multilateral global policy processes related to food systems, nutrition, climate change or other related environmental issues.
    The postholder will also possess demonstrable experience of national-level policy processes and challenges and opportunities in LMIC settings and have strong network in relevant areas and experience in representation with key donors, government, and internal and external stakeholders.
    You will have excellent communications skills, fluent in both written and verbal English and able to present clear and structured arguments with different stakeholders. The postholder should also be highly flexible and willing and able to travel to other GAIN offices regularly. Candidates with experience of visiting, living or working within low-income countries would be an advantage.
    Preferably a Master’s degree in environmental science, international development, public policy, public health or related field. You will have strong understanding of global hunger and malnutrition issues, climate change and other environmental issues and the intersection of the two areas. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent project management and strategic leadership skills and comfortable in managing and engaging with colleagues and partners.

    About the Role
    The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a CASCADE Programme Associate to provide operational, administrative, and coordination support to the GAIN CASCADE programme across countries. This role will be offered on fixed-term contract for two (2) years, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
    GAIN in consortium with CARE implements the Catalyzing Policy Action for Healthy Diets and resilience (CASCADE) programme, to improve food security and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition of at least 5 million women of reproductive age and children in Benin, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Mozambique.
    The CASCADE programme has two strategic objectives: 1: To increase access to and consumption of healthy diets among household members in the six programme countries, particularly women of reproductive age and children. Strategic objective 2: To increase resilience to price and climate change-related shocks and stresses of household members in the six programme countries, particularly women of reproductive age and children. CASCADE programme will operate in six countries until December 2026.
    Supporting the Programme Lead you will keep track of the countries project status, challenges, opportunities, stories, and timely delivery of projects across the countries. The role will provide operational, administrative, and coordination support to the GAIN CASCADE programme.
    Key Responsibilities include

    Providing support to the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting processes of CASCADE projects.
    Supporting the quality and timely delivery of countries projects by ensuring project managers are well informed of processes, deadlines and requirements and connected with relevant resources from elsewhere in GAIN.
    Contributing to the tracking of CASCADE project workplan activities on an ongoing basis and escalating any issues and challenges to Programme Lead to ensure resolution.

    Reporting to the Senior Technical Specialist, Knowledge Leadership, the Research Advisor will be a member of the Healthier Diets research unit under our Knowledge Leadership team. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality design and implementation of research and learning initiatives to support GAIN programming. These programs are aimed at directly reaching individuals with the goal of enhancing nutrient adequacy and improving diet quality. In particular, the position will provide strategic and technical leadership through evidence to inform the design, implementation, and evaluation of projects.
    Key Responsibilities include

    Overseeing and delivering technical advice to country projects and supporting on the integration and development of research questions and methods
    Conducting literature reviews or data searches relevant to food and nutrition issues, as relevant to the projects
    Leading the selection, managing and engaging with key technical partners (e.g., local data collection firms, think tanks) for the high-quality design, implementation, and dissemination of the research
    Leading the implementation of research activities throughout all stages, including design (protocol and questionnaire development), implementation (training, data collection and quality assurance), data analysis and reporting
    Leading the development of a learning agenda to strengthen the methods, tools, and resources available for the design, implementation and evaluation of projects with demand creation component

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in research design and implementation using either quantitative or qualitative methodologies, in nutrition or a related field. Experience should encompass design of research methodologies, analysis of data and reporting of results. You will also possess hands-on experience of programmatically relevant research in a low- or middle-income country, in collaboration with local research counterparts.
    The postholder will possess strong report writing and presentation skills, including on technical topics and demonstrated experience in critical analysis skills to support evidence generation and reporting. In addition, you will be proficiency in interpreting market research results and integrating key findings into the development of communication campaigns and strategies. Candidates with proven research project management experience in complex and diverse environments, including delivering projects on time and within budget and using project management processes and tools would be an asset.
    In addition to this, you will have excellent communications skills and able to work with diverse groups/individuals and comfortable working in multicultural and multi-lingual environments. You will be fluent in both written and verbal English. Candidates with proficiency in French or Portuguese would be an additional advantage.     Maintain and ensure availability of all required documents/supplies including vehicle papers, first aid kits, vehicle spare parts, etc. in line with Kenyan road and traffic laws.

    Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel.

    The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the procurement function of the GAIN Kenya country office to effectively support programme implementation and country office operations.     This role ensures effective compliance to the procurement guidelines. The Procurement Manager will serve as a primary contact and procurement lead of the GAIN Kenya country office.
    The position holder will be expected to work closely with the operations team, Project Managers and Country Management team in the country office and provide the technical procurement support required for handling all procurement activities.
    Key Responsibilities include

    Lead the procurement function ensuring value for money, ethical procurement practices, and compliance to GAIN and international standards.
    Develop, consolidate, and maintain procurement plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies for the office and projects and monitoring the procurement process.
    Develop procurement tracking system and support program and management team with up-to-date and reliable information on the procurement status.

    About you

    You should have experience in leading the procurement and logistical function of an organisation preferably within a nonprofit setup. Knowledge of USAID procurement rules and regulations, or other international donor agencies is required combined with familiarity of an inventory management software is necessary.
    The position holder should demonstrate experience in procurement planning, market intelligence, vendors due diligence, competitive bidding processes, contract formulation, review of commitments, and logistics management.
    A degree in procurement, purchasing & supply chain, business management, accounting, Economics, or other relevant field of study is necessary for this role.
