    About the Role
    Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Associate, Demand Creation will provide technical expertise to create and sustain consumer demand for nutritious foods in Marsabit. You will be responsible for consumer-facing marketing activities that encourage purchasing of nutritious foods.
    Specific Responsibilities include;

    Assessing nutritious foods marketing opportunities and working with the Project Manager to develop / revise the market expansion strategy for the GAIN supported SMEs
    Facilitating the development of the position of branded nutritious food based on lower-income family preferences.
    Identifying effective and efficient promotion activities in collaboration with civil society, government and private sectors, and facilitating the implementation of such activities
    Participating in and contributing to the development and implementation of project work plans.
    Providing assistance to the project manager by documenting and monitoring the project progress against project workplan and budget.
    Collecting, documenting, collating and analysing project data for monitoring and management information purposes
    Planning, coordinating and organizing time-bound project site visits

    About You

    You should have good experience in the agri-food sector in Kenya with a specific focus on advertising and / or
    marketing of food to consumers. Previous experience of working in food sales would be highly desirable, as would experience working in a public/private partnership environment.
    In addition, you should hold at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management (Sales and Marketing); Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing option) or a suitable equivalent field.
    A diploma or equivalent certification in project management would be advantageous.

    About the Role
    Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the Monitoring Manager will be responsible for leading programme monitoring across the GAIN Kenya portfolio of projects and ensuring that the learnings from monitoring and research are used to make improvements to programmes and to strengthen strategy. You will provide senior technical support to the project teams to design, coordinate and implement the monitoring framework of the country programme.
    This position will functionally report to the Head of Programmes, GAIN Kenya with all technical aspects of the work managed by the Director, Knowledge Leadership. There will be close collaboration with the Knowledge Leadership (KL) team as well as centralized programme teams.
    Key Responsibilities include;

    Leading on the consolidation of the country Learning Agenda to capture programme learning and informing improvements to programmes and strategy
    Supporting the design and adaptation of the programme monitoring tools and processes and leading on the training and quality assurance of the programme monitoring components
    Conducting monitoring field visits as required to ensure that project progress is on track
    Ensuring timely and good-quality routine activity progress monitoring and reporting by implementing partners
    Contributing to critical analysis and interpretation of monitoring and research results to formulate recommendations on program actions, improvements, and lessons learned
    Reviewing and interpreting monitoring data as part of preparation for GAIN’s performance and donor reports and ensuring quality of project reports aligning with the theory of change and results framework

    About You

    The ideal candidate should have proven experience in the public health nutrition sector, with expertise in programme monitoring. You should have demonstrated experience in critical analysis skills to extract key learning and effective practices from programme monitoring and its application to programme improvement.
    The Monitoring Manager should be a strong communicator with the ability to work effectively in a global multicultural team. You should have deep knowledge of programme design and monitoring tools, their application and quality assurance.
    The postholder should have knowledge of major quantitative & qualitative monitoring methodologies and proven ability to design monitoring instrumentation tools. Also, you should be highly flexible and willing and able to travel. Expertise in data management and analysis tools and software an asset.

    Experience

    Proven experience in the public health nutrition sector, with expertise in programme monitoring

    About the Role
    The Senior Recruitment Associate is a key position within the GAIN HR Recruitment function.
    Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, the post holder will be working closely with the wider HR and Recruitment team to deliver on a high volume of recruitment activity as well as supporting the HR team with general projects.     Specific Responsibilities include;

    Leading GAIN’s full recruitment lifecycle activities across countries in Africa (and other designated areas as may be required), the post holder will be responsible for leading on a number of open vacancies at all levels
    Developing talent pools through first class candidate sourcing, maintaining consistent KPIs in speed/quality of hire and establishing strong business partnering standards
    Managing the delivery of complex end-to-end recruitment processes in a number of international locations (primarily across the Africa regions) in a highly organised and efficient manner (including advertising, shortlisting, interview screening and scheduling and onboarding)

    Competencies, skills & attributes:

    About You

    You should be an experienced in-house recruitment specialist with a background in HR ideally having worked within the not for-profit, development or public sector. You should also have in-depth knowledge of the African recruitment space with the ability to work effectively within an international, matrix structure environment.
    Alongside this, you should be experienced in international sourcing and direct hiring, including sourcing, and leveraging networks for a wide range of roles. Proven experience of applying job evaluation methodology (Hay method, Birches etc) would be an asset.
    In addition to the above, you should be educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or possess equivalent relevant work experience. Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential, as are excellent IT skills.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Head of Programmes, GAIN Kenya and Private Sector Engagement and Livelihoods Manager within the Nawiri Consortium, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading on all the Nawiri related technical assistance and implementation activities as defined in the program proposal and work plan.
    The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that the interventions by different partners are coordinated with those being implemented by GAIN so that overall project milestones and goals are met. They will be expected to provide technical support on food and market systems work as required.
    You will also oversee financial control and proactively review, make recommendations and report on programmatic activities, to support the delivery of GAIN’s strategic plan for Nawiri in Kenya.

    Key Responsibilities include;

    Overseeing technical direction, and implementation of evidence-based strategies and interventions geared towards improving the food and market systems as desired under the Nawiri program
    Providing technical guidance, advice and assistance in facilitating planning and implementation strategies and interventions for the Nawiri program
    Establishing and managing working relations within the Nawiri program consortium partners and a diverse set of stakeholders – INGOs, bilateral agencies, government departments, business and non-profit partners
    Leading in conceptualizing and organizing county level engagement, consultations, workshops related to GAIN’s work within the Nawiri program and as required in the program
    Responsible for ensuring adherence and compliance to technical standards, guidelines, and policies within Nawiri

    About You

    The postholder should have experience working in a public/private partnership environment and be capable of engaging persuasively with various stakeholders. Good report writing skills and some knowledge of technical writing for project related documentation is also essential

    Reporting to the Cluster Lead, Nutrition Enterprise Unit, the Project Manager will be responsible for implementing the Nutrition Impact at Scale project while working with partners supporting SMEs to scale their businesses with a nutrition lens. The postholder will also provide technical assistance to companies/SMEs within GAIN’s sister Nutritious Foods Financing (N3F) programme.
    Key Responsibilities include;

    Identifying and collating tools necessary for the building of the capacity of other actors (accelerators and incubators) to support SMEs
    Engaging with partners to collate best practices for support of Nutrition enterprises at scale
    Providing direct advisory support to ESOs (Entrepreneurship Support Organizations) and SMEs to scale their impact in the ecosystem
    Working with GAIN’s leadership to provide effective monitoring and tracking activities, outputs, outcomes and impact
    Identify and assessing project risks and report, developing resolutions as necessary to address any risks
    Managing the growing set of tools and resources, including development of training guides, curricula, and operating procedures, for SMEs within N3F

    About You

    The ideal candidate should have solid professional experience particularly in project management and demonstrated expertise in the provision of technical assistance to SMEs. Previous experience working in a public/private partnership environment and global, multicultural organization is highly desirable.
    The postholder should demonstrated success in building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You should have proven ability to use initiative, multi-task, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and should be highly flexible and willing and able to travel. Fluent written and verbal English and Swahili, proficiency in French or Portuguese desirable.

    About our Offer

    The starting salary on offer for this role is from KES 2,567,589 – KES 2,937,470 per annum, depending on experience.

    Tasks and Responsibilities (SBN)
    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing SBN Africa networks technical guidance to strengthen
    network operations and facilitate cross country learning. The candidate is responsible for developing and leading
    the operationalization of SBN’s global youth and gender strategy. Key responsibilities are outlined below.
    SBN Africa Network Coordination 

    Support emerging SBNs in Africa to utilize SBN tools to establish national networks.
    In partnership with SBN’s Knowledge and Leadership focal point support national SBN teams to monitor 
    network activities and generate knowledge that can be widely shared across networks e.g., through 
    publications, webinars, study tours etc. 
    With the support of the SBN Global Secretariat, lead the design and implementation of global flagship 
    programs that aim to catalyze cross country learning opportunities e.g., innovation challenges, learning 
    exchanges etc. 
    Co-lead the design of the Nutrition Impact at Scale Programme global activities as part of a broader SBN 

    Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition

    effort to strengthen the ecosystem of support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Africa. 
    Learnings from the program will be shared widely across SBN networks globally. 
    Broker regional partnerships and alliances in Africa to support SBN’s core activity of linking SMEs with
    technical assistance and finance providers in addition to its new strategic focus on women and youth 
    engagement. This includes leveraging the SBN Global Partner network.
    Organise regional events to showcase the SBNs progress with key stakeholders e.g., SUN Networks, 
    investors, government etc. 
    Support the development of global and regional fundraising proposals 
    Liaise with GAIN’s Nutrition Enterprise Unit Cluster Communications Associate on the development of 
    communications materials to support the aforementioned regional and global activities.

    SBN Gender and Youth Engagement Technical Oversight 

    Building on the SBN 3.0 Strategy (2022-2025), lead the development of the SBN Gender and Youth 
    strategy and implementation plan.
    Lead the development and dissemination of guidance tools for mainstreaming gender and youth in SBN 
    global and national activities. 
    Organize global SBN technical workshops to support national coordinators to intentionally identify 
    opportunities to engage and support women and youth in national networks.
    Broker global partnerships and alliances with organizations that can support SBN’s new strategic focus on 
    women and youth. 
    Lead the design and implementation of global flagship programs that aim to catalyze cross country 
    learning opportunities for women/youth entrepreneurs e.g., innovation challenges, learning exchanges 
    etc. 

    Key Organizational Relationships

    Reports to Co-coordinator, SBN & Programme Lead, SME Advocacy
    Regular engagement with the Global SBN team, SBN Operations Committee, SUN Secretariat, SUN

    developing countries. Experience in youth programming and gender mainstreaming is desirable. 
    Experience in advocacy or policy work to advance nutrition with a cross cutting focus on gender and 
    youth inclusion is an asset.

    Education

    Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development / Development Studies, Women and Gender Studies or 
    related field, or equivalent training/experience Other Requirements
    Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and French is desirable
    Willingness and ability to travel globally
    Must be eligible to work in one of GAIN’s African country offices.
