    Provide ongoing support and mentorship to training participants, helping them to implement regenerative practices on their farms.
    Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
    Stay up to date with the latest research and developments in regenerative agriculture and incorporate new knowledge into training materials.
    Create and distribute educational materials, including manuals, guides, videos, and online content.
    Promote the benefits of regenerative agriculture through public speaking engagements, articles, and social media.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related field
    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in regenerative agriculture or sustainable farming.
    Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs.
    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    Strong organizational and project management abilities.

    Passion for sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    The Communications officer performs a wide range of duties including the following:

    Develop comprehensive communication plans outlining strategies, objectives, target audiences, key messages, and tactics for various campaigns.
    Develop culturally and gender sensitive outreach materials and resources that address gender stereotypes about girls in STEM delivered to families and Key community actors.
    Manage all the project communication channels.
    Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage and manage press inquiries. This might involve drafting media pitches, organizing press conferences, and facilitating interviews.
    Creating communication campaigns to address the various aspects of the project.
    Develop marketing and communication toolkits for industry engagement.
    Plan, promote and support execution of events such as job fairs and visits to the STEM-related industry companies and TVET institutions for Adolescent Girls
    Plan, promote and support execution of Community Outreach workshops to parents/caregivers of adolescent girls, key community actors and adolescent boys.
    Maintain consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all communication channels by ensuring all the branding guidelines of the project are adhered to.
    Provide communication training and support to project staff to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication skills.
    Track the performance of communication efforts using metrics like media coverage, website traffic, social media engagement, and sentiment analysis.
    Prepare reports to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement.

    Education and Experience
    Essential Requirements & Background:

    Degree in Communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
    3 years of experience in communications and advocacy, preferably in the non-profit sector
    Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects at the same time
    Excellent writing, strategic communication, and coordination skills
    Experience working with traditional and non-traditional media outlets
    Experience planning public events for youth and other audiences
    Ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment

    Responsibilities:

    Support STEEP projects to ensure the integration of gender mainstreaming concepts and activities in program implementation.
    Contribute to the development and revision of project GE strategies on an annual basis based on changes to the projects, local context and current global trends, developments and innovations in GE and related fields.
    Support project team in developing and updating Gender Based Analysis plus (GBA+).
    Work closely with project team to align and integrate the project activities with GE strategies.
    Capacity Building: Organize workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs for project staff and stakeholders to enhance their understanding of gender issues, promote inclusivity, and adopt gender-responsive approaches in liaison with the project coordinator.
    Support the Project Management Unit in continuous improvements of STEEP project gender mainstreaming approaches and tools.
    Work closely with PMU team and field team to ensure that MEL has an ongoing GE focus and that this is captured in reporting through the development and use of gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation, results-based management and outcome mapping tools.
    Monitoring and Evaluation support; Support GE reporting for mid-year and annual reports by reviewing partnership narrative reports to synthesize data of GE accomplishments. Keep track of gender-sensitive indicators and regularly assess the impact of the project on gender-related outcomes in liaison with M&E. Conduct gender analysis and research to identify barriers faced by adolescent girls in STEM fields and use this data to inform project strategies and interventions.
    Collaborate with local partner staff to ensure gender work is integrated in project partnerships through support to partners and guidance on GE strategies.
    Participate collaboratively in development and implementation of gender-sensitive programming including work planning, reporting, capturing, and disseminating lessons learned/best practices.
    Community Engagement: Provide technical expertise and handholding support to TVET staff for making gender friendly TVET facilities. Engage with local communities, parents, and guardians to promote the importance of gender equality in STEM education and encourage their active support and involvement.
    Maintain an up-to-date and thorough understanding of the gender issues and implementation challenges related to project components and collaborate with project officers to resolve the same.
    Contribute to the development of public engagement and communication materials.
    Contribute to the development of human/impact stories focusing on GE aspects.
    Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies.
    The incumbent must have a sound understanding of gender mainstreaming and gender equality with experience of applying these to project activities.
    Have a thorough understanding of the external funder’s requirements to ensure that the project is being carried out in the expected manner.

    Qualifications, Competencies, & Skills

    Full fluency in English and Swahili

    Experience in designing, analyzing, and strengthening systems related to curriculum design, instructional design, material development, training facilitation, training evaluation and assessment.
    Leadership in capacity development of higher education institutions including coordinating training for staff, education professionals aimed at improving curriculum enhancement and pedagogy at TVETs, colleges, polytechnics and universities level.

    The COP will;

    Act as the primary point of contact with USAID/KEA with regards to day-to-day implementation and management matters relating to the award.
    Have overall responsibility for the successful implementation of the award and provide technical and managerial leadership to the implementation team and subrecipient(s). Specifically, the COP should demonstrate familiarity with the educational approach used in U.S. community colleges and will oversee the adaptation of this model to allow Kenyan TVETs to provide quality training opportunities that respond to employer demand.
