    Prepare for and assist physicians to perform various procedures such as Lumbar Puncture and insertion of invasive lines
    Carry out pre and post-operative care for the surgical patient
    Care for the psychiatry patient as per policy on Psychiatry Care.
    Maintain adequate airway management to include oxygen therapy, nebulization and suctioning
    Promptly report both clinical and non-clinical unusual findings/incidences to the nurse manager, team leader or physician
    Identify patient and family education needs and implement appropriate teaching 
    Provide safe environment for patients through adherence to infection control practices and other safety policies.
    Participate in quality initiatives including clinical care program certification (CCPC)
    Care for equipment through cleaning, storage, per shift check of the inventory and timely reporting and follow up of nonfunctional equipment to the nurse manager
    Follow discharge procedure of assigned patients according to hospital protocol, and ensure follow up appointments are made
    Participate in unit based nursing education, quality improvement (QI) projects, audits, spot checks and skill checks

    Requirements:

    RN from a recognized school of nursing or University
    Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya
    Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)

    Key responsibilities:
    Repairing and servicing of equipment

    Liaise with supervisor (Mechanical) in planning and supervision of repairs/ maintenance of all mechanical plant and equipment carried out by Mechanical technicians and help them as necessary to ensure optimum systems uptime. 
    Inspection of Plant and equipment to assess requirement of spare parts and liaise with supervisor (Mechanical) to initiate non-stock purchase requests, ensure receipt of acceptable specifications.
    Ensure all backup/standby plants and equipment is ready (operational) to operate as and when required through inspection and logging in daily equipment status checklists.  Maintain history cards of all equipment.
    With guidance from the supervisor (mechanical), prepare equipment/systems inventory, plan and implement PPM schedule to reduce breakdowns and down time of machine.
    Maintain updated record of PPMs, review performance indicators and prepare action plans where deviations are observed.
    Follow up and monitor contractors for timely and effective implementation of external PPM schedule and keep updated record.

    General maintenance of the Hospital facility

    Guide and monitor general repairs in assigned section e.g. carpentry, masonry and painting.

    Job Summary
    This position is based at public health facilities in Kaloleni and Rabai sub-counties in Kilifi county. The successful candidate is required to contribute to recruitment of participants, data collection and follow-up for the research studies of the PRECISE network at the Kenya site. These will primarily be: The PRECISE (Pregnancy Care Integrating Translational science everywhere) study and the PRECISE-DYAD (Linking maternal and infant health trajectories in sub-Saharan Africa) and other related sub studies.
    The successful candidate will be required to support the study activities at the health facility. This will include screening and recruitment of study participants, clinical and non-clinical data collection, sample collection and handling. Additional study procedures including anthropometry, maternal and child clinical procedures, simple ultrasound procedures, child development assessments, collection of special biological samples and performing bedside/ point of care tests. He / She will obtain training on any specialised clinical procedures or tests.
    He / She will be required to comply with stipulated guidelines on all study activities. The study nurse will be required to be sensitive and considerate throughout with participants, their families and other health facility staff. He / She will be the face of the study to the community and the larger health facility team and will be required to communicate to families and community members as appropriate and at all times to display a professional attitude.
    The role will include some local travel within the study area – between health facilities and to communities. The role may require shift work including nights, weekends and public holidays.
    The nurse is required to have and maintain active nursing practice licenses in Kenya and will be required to contribute to clinical care at the respective health care facilities.
     Responsibilities

    Liaise with health facility staff to identify potentially eligible study participants for recruitment into specific studies and sub-studies;
    Contribute to screening and recruitment of study participants including provision of informed consent;

This position is a short-term contract for 6 months and will be based at the Kenyan Coast (Mombasa or Kilifi).
     Responsibilities

    Plan and coordinate research activities with respect to the different qualitative and quantitative research components of the project in consultation with project PIs
    Liaise with different county offices and staff to explain the project design and aims and obtain clearances to conduct research within the county
    Be in charge of project resources and account for them to the project PIs
    Prepare detailed notes on different aspects of fieldwork activities and other serendipitous occurrences in the field that have a bearing on the research findings but which may not be captured in the research tools
    Liaise with the project PI in identifying and recruiting local staff that will be engaged in research activities such as mobilisers for FGDs
    Anticipate and identify problematic events in the field that may hinder successful conduct of the research in the county and discuss with project PIs in order to find solutions. Set up monthly calendar meetings for the project team
    Write study meeting minutes and follow up on the action points. Open and maintain study file (soft and physical)
    Plan for the in person research team meetings, and participate in scheduled donor meetings
    Participate in recruitment and onboarding of the study staff
    Support in setting up the e-health centers: Visit the proposed sites for the eHealth centers in Mombasa and Kilifi, and raise requisition for the purchase of the equipment needed for the eHealth centers

    Attend educational lectures and conferences, take part in the planning of the study schedule with the study PI, and raise requisition for the digital devices for data collection
    Ensure proper handling, recording and storage of project data for onward forwarding to the PIs of the project
    Provide input in development of the study’s data management plan

    Requirements

    Have a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or any related Health or Business related fields
    Must have not less than three (3) years of experience in a similar position
    Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting is key for this role
    Have demonstrable experience working with a rigorous research program such as the CoEWCH

    Collect and keep change available at all times to carry out cash transactions
    Store cash, cheques and vouchers securely as per the department guidelines
    Carry out banking of collections in a timely manner
    File and store prescriptions sequentially and securely
    File and update all finance related documents to maintain accurate records
    Activate accounts for corporate patients and ensure there is a duly signed claim form where applicable

    Requirements:

    KATC II or Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent
    At least 2 years’ experience in a busy cash office
    Must be proficient in use of computers
    Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
