    Role Overview:
    The Assistant Accountant is responsible for ensuring that Global Secretariats’ accounting and financial management processes are made in line with agreed policies and procedures, through:

    Ensuring that multi geographical payments to suppliers are made in line with agreed policies and procedures.
    Ensuring that multi geographical supplier invoices and payment information is accounted for accurately and timely manner.
    Ensuring that Balance sheet reconciliations are performed across the various GS Hubs’ ledgers
    Ensuring that all payrolls are processed and accounted for correctly for all GS Hubs.
    Assisting with preparing for the Hub annual audits including financial statements as well as consolidated audit support,
    Supporting international accountants.
    Ledger Review and Management.
    Credit Card Management,
    Supporting the GS Hubs’ intercompany recharges process.
    Providing accounting and financial management guidance to the internal customers (employees) of the organization.
    Provide occasional assistance to budget holders as required.

    Who we’re looking for:

    You should have Tertiary qualification in finance and Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA). 
    You should have 1–2-year experience in similar role with working knowledge of Sun and processing payments on bank platforms.
    You should have proven track record of accounting experience.
    You should have working knowledge on: Payroll and related legislation guidelines, ledger entry analysis and interpretation, generating reports and data analysis and interpretation, designing reports for reporting and in-depth knowledge and experience working within the accounting technical area which enable them to work autonomously, resolve day to day issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the organization’s delivery model .
    You should have ability to work in a multicultural and multi-geographical context/environment, engage in social justice activism/advocacy and demonstrate innovative practices.
    You should have good experience in a financial or management accounting environment. You should have cross functional fair understanding of good finance practices and proven track record of general ledger management. You should have working knowledge of payroll, tax, IFRS and related legislation.

    Essential Desirable

    Educated to Masters degree level in the fields of Gender, Social Science, Development Studies, Human Rights, Governance or other relevant humanities. 
    At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in Africa or Asiaworking with women’s rights, gender equality and or GBV MEL.
    Substantial experience of providing leadership, support and guidance on participatory monitoring, evaluation and learning across development programmes/projects – particularly in multi-country settings.
    Strong technical skills in MEL and coordination skills and ability to motivate teams.
    Strong communication and negotiation skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
    Knowledge and experience of adaptive approaches and thinking and working politically. 
    Ability to travel regularly to and within programme countries, including Ireland.
    Applied knowledge of the programme cycle including context analysis and problem analysis, design, planning and management, and monitoring and evaluation.
    Strong training and facilitation skills and ability to identify capacity building needs.
    Strong networking/relationship-building skills to work well with and influence diverse stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment

    Key Accountabilities and Deliverables
    Monitoring, Evidence and Learning:

    Outline AA Ireland’s position on adaptive management and how it relates to results-based management both in theory and practice. 
    Establish and maintain a MEL system that is adaptive and tailored to the programme, including the design of a baseline, mid-term evaluation and final evaluation.
    Ensure MEL practices are rooted in participatory and feminist approaches.
    Be the central point of contact on MEL processes and quality programming.
    Facilitate effective coordination and collaboration between country teams.
    Ensure country teams have input in and ownership of new tools and methodologies.
    Ensure that relevant crosscutting issues as established by the Federation are integrated in the MEL system and monitored throughout the programme period
    Documentation and reporting
    Maintain and manage a documentation repository of all MEL related materials
    Systematically capture targeting criteria for identifying hard-to-reach women and girls and promote disaggregated data by both age and sex as well other intersectionality factors across the programme.
    Support programme teams to monitor and measure progress and learning against indicators in their results framework
    Support country teams to meet all reporting requirements for the donor.
    Provide analysis and constructive feedback to country teams on their reports. 
    Lead on the consolidation of monitoring data across the programme to ensure reporting against indicators set out in the programme results framework.
    Facilitate high quality narrative country report submissions within agreed timelines, in close collaboration with AAIreland Head of Programmes and country teams
    Support the development and finalisation of the annual report for the donor, in collaboration with AAIreland Head of Programmes and the wider Programmes Team.

    Who we’re looking for:

    Scope of work
    Under the supervision of the Programme Manager – Resilient Livelihoods and Emergencies, Project Coordinator – GRACC and monitoring Coordinator will be required to support the consultant to lead in the endline evaluation in the project areas, support offered government and the impact of the work sustaining the development initiatives that the empowered women are implementing including women with disabilities.
    Methodology
    The methodology of the assignment will be a mixture of quantitative and qualitative data for use in communications. The consultant should at the minimum verify the number of people (women and disability disaggregated) that we worked with directly (that is likely to have behaviour change) and those indirectly. Standard questions will be provided by AAIK team
    Expected Deliverables
    Working with the AAIK team the consultant is expected deliver on the following areas; • Produce a summary of key messages for duty bears based on local women’s knowledge on climate change adaptation • A comprehensive report not more than 25 pages with at least 3 captivating stories from the beneficiaries including quotes, participatory process-based summary of the task • 2 pager summarized info graphic version of the report for high profile international/local audience

    Management of the assignment
    Overall guidance and supervision of the documentation will be provided by AAIK’s Communications staff and GRACC project Coordinator women leaders in the project areas in Tangulbei and any other units as advised. Primary leadership on the task shall be provided by the Project Coordinator.
    Desired expertise
    The lead consultant should have the following:

    A post-graduate degree in environmental management, climate change, project management, Economics, statistics or a related field.
    Proven experience of at least 7 years in undertaking project/programme evaluations.
    The experience should include undertaking of at least five (5) medium to large scale donor funded project/programmes (of which two (3) should be in gendered climate change related fields
    Experience in Capacity development, institutional/organizational strengthening and Policy development/mainstreaming
    Understanding of Human Rights based approach and advancing gender equality principles
    Excellent English writing and communication including report writing and photography skills

    Travel & accommodation
