    Background and Opportunity Description:
     
    Off-grid solar technologies provide life-changing access to modern energy services for people and communities currently living without electricity.E-waste generated by the off-grid solar sector represents less than 0.1% of global e-waste streams, but investment now will ensure the industry’s growth is sustainable over the long term and further enhance the sector’s reputation as a leader in environmental responsibility.
    As a Global LEAP Solar E-Waste Challenge winner, d.light has developed a project aimed at incentivizing customers to dispose of End of Life (EoL) and Out of Warranty (OOW) solar products. 
    Through a targeted consumer awareness campaign, the project will encourage customers to buy new solar products at a discounted rate, when the old products cannot be repaired, thus preventing a return to the use of oil lamps and candles.
     
    Working with / reporting to:

    Quality Assurance Manager and Strategic Partnerships Manager

    Core Activities:

    Train staff and agents on the purpose of the project and the means of achieving the goals
    Monitoring of project progress across North-Rift and South-Rift regions, and continuous re-design and deployment of additional techniques to ensure that goals are achieved
    Coordinating with the Marketing Team to design marketing materials to increase awareness about the project
    Design, procurement and placement of collection bins
    Design and implementation of data collection system at point of collection
    Management of solar waste collection and reverse logistics
    Creation and management of database to categorize all types of solar waste
    Coordination with local and head-office staff
    Budget management
    Organization and management of site visits from donors
    Project report writing

    All candidates must have:

    Project management experience
    Clear examples of working in technical environments (preferably electrical or electronic experience). Ability to categorize the components in a solar system
    Exceptional attention to detail

    Experience building and managing databases
    Training/capacity building experience (for people with limited education)

    Job description

    Ensure Safety and protection of company property and stakeholders including but not limited to employees, customers, and suppliers at all times.
    Continuously conduct security checks in collaboration with the Security Manager·
    Record all daily incidences and accidents in the Security Occurrence book as well as on the adopted platform and submit to Superiors for review.
    Conducts inspections on a regular basis to determine need and extent of service on equipment and systems related to safety & security.
    Always supervise internal and external movements on material for other subsidiaries as required.
    Continuously verification of all security equipment’s that are used by the security personnel and offices and ensure they are in good working condition.
    Ensure that evacuation procedures and training is adhered to by security personnel in appointed location at all time.
    Report to the Security Manager on gaps identify that might present theft of company properties.
    Must be able to work closely with local law enforcement institutions to gather information of any security risks to the farm.
    Monthly meetings with local Beach Management Units as well as local police stations.
    Monthly evaluation of guards, Team leaders and Foreman.
    Any other duties assigned by the managers.

    Apply relevant emerging technologies, industry standards, best practices and provide input during Software Development Lifecycle
    Collect and record growth, production, and environmental data. Compile operational data and maintain operational records.
    Supervise and train aquaculture and fish hatchery support workers.
    Devise and participate in activities to improve fish hatching and growth rates, and to prevent disease in hatcheries.
    Developing monthly feed conversion ratio (FCR) and fish survival reports
    Confer with biologists, fish pathologists, and other fishery personnel to obtain data concerning fish habits, diseases, food, and environmental requirements.
    Provide support in ensuring dissolved oxygen, temperature, & Secchi disk readings are conducted every morning and afternoon to assess water quality.

    Qualifications:

    Strong data management background with a proven ability to interact with complex systems and large dataset.
    Computer science background, data management and analysis, and must be willing to learn about aquaculture.
    A University Degree in Agricultural/horticultural or Fisheries and Aquatic science or related agricultural field.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Oversee efficient working of employees of import department and manage all communication with customers and vendors, as well as internal resources to manage movement of goods.
    Plan and implement all import and export transportation strategies according to all supplier and customer demand and administer internal movement of all goods and ensure compliance to all government regulations.
    Partner with suppliers and inventory planners and ensure accurate movement of all international goods and ensure arrival of goods within required timeframe and obtain best freight rates at all times.
    Design, evaluate and renew all contracts as per requirement and monitor and prepare reports for all import activities and recommend changes if required.
    Assist to prepare all import quotes for customers and perform all shipment bookings with carriers.

    Perform research for various departments for all import and export laws and procedures and maintain knowledge on all tariffs and licenses and collaborate with finance team and maintain inventory of all products and analyze all insurance documents.
    Design all SOPs for import department and ensure compliance to all ISO guidelines and prepare reports to be submitted to government agencies.
    Provide all insurance on shipments and design and execute all corrective action plans for processes.
    Collaborate with various Kenyan government officials, internal resources, and perform audit on processes and maintain expert knowledge on all custom regulations.
