    Senior Operations Manager Construction Engineer Quality Assurance Assistant Human Resource Assistant

    Your primary responsibilities will consist of 4 categories:
    PROCESSING OPERATIONS

    Oversee our day-to-day processing operations, ensuring that processing operations are running efficiently and effectively. This includes managing the processing department staff and resources and ensuring that processing targets are met.
    Work hand-in-hand with the Quality Control team to ensure all QMS processes and SOPs are tracked to ensure the highest standard of fish is delivered to our branch network
    Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and productivity by developing new processes or procedures, identifying, and resolving operational issues, and implementing quality control measures to ensure processing output meets the required standards.
    Set and monitor processing KPIs, and making necessary adjustments to ensure that these KPIs are met or exceeded. You will also work with other departments such as LCs and Sales to ensure processing operations area aligned with overall organizational goals and objectives.

    FARM LOGISTICS PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

    Oversee day-to-day Lake Logistics Operations, by working closely with the Lake Logistics Manager to ensure key targets are met or exceeded.
    Work closely with the Lake Logistics Manager to develop and implement strategies to optimize the use of resources, minimize costs, and maximize efficiency. You will also collaborate with other departments such as production to ensure logistics operations are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
    Oversee the management of logistics resources such as boats and other equipment and be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and monitoring key KPIs related to logistics operations.
    Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation to enhance logistics operations.

    WAREHOUSING MANAGEMENT

    Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations, improve inventory management, and minimize costs. You will be responsible overseeing receipt, storage, and distribution of items within the warehouse and ensuring they meet the required standards.Specifically oversee management of resources such as staff, equipment, and space within the warehouse. You will develop and guide implementation safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and monitoring KPIs related to warehouse operations.
    Optimizing processes including deployment of automated tools to simplify the inventory management process.
    Make informed decisions regarding inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution / issuance strategies.

    ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT

    Develop and implement strategies to improve EHS standards, minimize risks, and ensure 
    compliance with regulations; while collaborating with other departments such as Corporate Affairs and Human Resources to ensure that EHS policies and procedures are aligned with overall organizational goals and practices.
    Oversee development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures including risk assessments, incident reporting, and emergency response plans.
    Work closely with the EHS Supervisor in developing training programs on EHS policies and  procedures for employees and that they are aware of their responsibilities about maintaining a safe workplace.

    QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

    10+ years of experience in managing operations, logistics, and supply chain functions within an organization.
    Capacity to understand complex operations and challenges, break them down into problems that can then be tackled and resolve them.
    Attention to detail and data driven approach to constantly improve operations and ensure consistency in delivering value to other parts of the business, day in, day out.
    Experience in managing multiple teams across different functions.
    Ability to thrive working collaboratively with both senior colleagues and more junior ones, solving problems independently, and in a fast-paced environment.
    A successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, ability to work in teams, intellectual curiosity, and ability to structure and solve problems.
    Master’s degree in operations management, Supply chain, Logistics, or any relevant engineering degree.

    OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

    Manage our day-to-day supply chain (logistics centres + fleet) ensuring optimal inventory levels are kept within the system to keep supporting sales. VF currently operates 3 LCs in Kenya and a fleet of 11 trucks
    Setup and drive in country feed logistics to support our different farms in Kenya and the other geographies we expand into in East Africa
    Set KPIs and targets for departments, measure progress against these, identify and implement improvement plans focusing on service delivery and cost optimization
    Design the future of our supply chain to support our multi-market and multi-country approach. We plan on opening at least 2 new LCs including in a new country and expanding our fleet capacity to support our expansion plan

    QUALITY MANAGEMENT

    Enforce best practices across our processes to ensure that spoilage is kept as close to 0%
    Manage a team of 6 QC analysts and associates and ensure they are adequately trained to execute their tasks
    Design and integrate quality control into our feed logistics process

    INTERNAL CONSULTING

    Oversee our team of internal consultants as they support all parts of our business by implementing a variety of projects (for example: report automation, process redesign and formalisation, process
    Identify improvement projects company wide, scope them and drive the team to implementing them

    QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

    7+ years of experience with a blend of Operations Management or Management consulting with a focus on Ops related projects.
    Capacity to understand complex supply chains and challenges, break them down into problems that can then be tackled and resolve them
    Attention to detail and thrive for constant operations improvement to ensure consistency in delivering value to other parts of the business, day in, day out
    Experience in managing multiple teams across different functions

    MAINTENANCE COORDINATION/MANAGEMENT

    Create and update fleet maintenance schedule to ensure all assets are properly running
    Manage internal and third-party vendors to complete both planned an unplanned maintenance on time while maintaining a high level of quality
    Manage and purchase spare parts to ensure common spare parts are stocked in case of routine maintenance and emergency repairs You will be the primary person responsible for ensuring on time delivery and pickup across our network. This position requires a strong ability to use logic to solve complex problems while working across interdisciplinary teams: you will be working with colleagues all the way from the farm to the branches!

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    5+ years of experience in fleet management and route optimization at a firm with a fleet of 15+ vehicles
    Good understanding of knowledge in mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance
    Background in industrial engineering or supply chain is helpful

    Job Description

    Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Dozer Operator responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
    Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.
    Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
    Operate the dozer and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, and other construction related duties as required.
    Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
    Use the Dozer to dig fishponds, level soil, move rock and debris, and scoop soil.
    Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and thoroughly fill voids using plans and/or a surveyor as guidance.
    Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Dozer & training our staff on the use.
    Operate dozer controls to regulate height and angle of the dozer blade and lower scarifier to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
    Feel levers and listen to equipment sounds to determine depth of the cut.
    Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
    Drive Dozer in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower terrain and demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
    Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader.
    Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
    Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
    Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
