    The Placement Service invites applications for six-month internship in the following department: Placement and Career Services Department: 2 interns
    Qualifications

    Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences or related qualification.
    Certificate of good conduct;
    Personal accident insurance cover for the internship period;
    Copy of PIN certificate; and
    NHIF card

    The successful applicants will gain first-hand work experience to enhance their employability and, therefore, must be unemployed Kenyan graduates. The applicants must have completed their degree or diploma courses and have not been exposed to work experience relating to their area of study.

    Reporting to the Manager, Research and Knowledge Management, the job holder shall be required to assist in the management of the institution’s strategy, planning and performance contracting – monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
    Job Responsibilities

    Assist in collating data relating to implementation of the Placement Service Strategic Plan;
    Assist in undertaking economic reviews of the Placement Service programmes, projects and activities;
    Assist in the preparation of annual work plans for the Placement Service and alignment of the plans with the budget;
    Assist in undertaking economic analysis of investments, programmes and projects;
    Monitoring the implementation of the Placement Services plans and performance contract;
    Assist in the preparation of annual work programmes and budgets for Placement Service planning and development activities; and
    Undertake any such additional duties that are reasonably commensurate with the level of this post.

    Qualifications

    Have five (5) years experience in relevant work in the Public Service or Private Sector;
    Have attained a minimum of Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics Computer Science; Business Studies; Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation or any other equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
    Be a member of a relevant professional body / institution;
    Be proficient in computer applications;
    Applicants with training in Monitoring and Evaluation will have an added advantage;
    Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

    Reporting to the Manager, ICT, the officer is responsible for supporting the Placement Service’s business systems and shall also work closely with other departments by advising and providing technical support to determine the best course of action for their IT systems.
    Key Responsibilities

    Analysing needs, developing and implementing business and computer systems solutions to keep our systems current with changing technologies;
    Analysing current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs, and designing solutions to problematic programming;
    Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables or procedures;
    Supporting the network administration in designing, installing, operating and maintaining information systems technology including local and wide area networks and associated peripheral devices;
    Supporting database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance as required by the Placement Service and other dependent business systems;
    Create new network user accounts, alter user system details and remove past user accounts and ensure all servers are backed up correctly and to carry out regular test restores;

    Minimum Requirements
    For appointment to this position, a candidate must:

    Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in relevant work in the Public Service or in the Private Sector;
    Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    Have experience and training in PHP, Python, MySQL and related Open Source Technologies additional knowledge in Oracle certificate or other related or equivalent qualifications; and
    Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
