    Strategic Relationships: Manage strategic relationships with key external stakeholders: our board, investors, referral institutions, academic research partners, insurers, and government partners.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree; Masters preferred
    Professional qualifications in health systems management, business, or finance;
    At least ten (10) years’ experience leading significant teams, and excellent people management skills — the ability to mentor a senior team and build a strong organizational culture;
    The attitude and enthusiasm of a start-up entrepreneur: this is not a “behind-the-desk” job — you will be working hand in hand with a dedicated clinical team running a 24/7 operation, and will need to respond to emergencies, meet deadlines, and inspire investors;

  • Communications Manager

    Communications Manager

    Responsibilities:
    Develop content (e.g., narrative stories, blog posts, infographics, videos, case studies) for Jacaranda’s website, blog, monthly e-newsletter and social channels that provide engaging information about our work, results and knowledge, which ultimately optimize visibility with key audiences from customers to donor partners.
    Provide ongoing design and creative support on in-house projects including impact reports, videos, brochures
    Work with program managers to lead knowledge management projects – capture and distill Jacaranda’s impact and innovations in a clear and creative way.
    Serve as the primary editor for Jacaranda’s blog and newsletter. In addition to editing and writing, the communications manager will be responsible for creating the content strategy, setting the editorial calendar and using data-driven approaches to increase engagement for these external communications channels.
    Manage, monitor, and grow Jacaranda’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin.
    Work with programs staff to support the execution of communication deliverables (e.g., press releases, social media, blogs, brochures, etc.). Support the development and execution of product- and content-specific marketing plans for various project teams.
    Develop and implement media outreach strategies for targeted bloggers, thought leaders and journalists.
    Continually refresh the content and improve the visual presentation on Jacaranda’s website (in collaboration with members of the technology group), ensuring the site always contains accurate, current and engaging content.
    REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field. Non-profit experience a plus, as well as a portfolio of communications materials.
    4-6 years of experience in communications related work
    Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute campaigns on mainstream social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
    Knowledge of social media monitoring and measurement technologies, such as Hootsuite or SproutSocial.
    Demonstrative experience with creative design aspects related to website, social media and marketing

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Financial Management & Reporting

    Set up and continuously evaluate internal control systems in line with changing demands, and ensure they are appropriately designed to serve the best interest of Jacaranda.

    Provide business intelligence, analysis, and recommendations based on monthly management reports.
    Responsible for financial modeling, pricing new services, evaluating cost-effectiveness, evaluating impact of strategic decisions on Jacaranda’s business model, and financial sustainability as we grow.
    Evaluate investments for new clinics and scale-up models, for bringing new services to the market, and ensuring that our maternity revenues are growing fast enough to sustained and scale.
    Strengthen technology systems and oversee implementation and deployment of enterprise software and technology to help our billing, point of sale, inventory management, and potentially ERP.

    Engagement
    Take a proactive role in understanding the organization’s HR needs, working diligently with department heads to recruit and induct new employees.
    Foster employee retention through the creation of a positive and engaging work environment, building relations with and between staff, promoting dialogue, addressing needs, and spearheading disciplinary action when needed.

    1. Enable and support the execution of QI Public Sector Partnerships through:
    a. Designing and conducting QI training at the partner public hospitals and facilitating the execution of relevant, measureable and sustainable quality improvement projects working alongside QI teams in each facility.b. helping develop capacity, systems and an organizational structure that enable the ongoing application of QIc. Serving as one of the contact persons for Jacaranda Health with partner public hospitals and providing on-going coaching for public hospital QI team members to ensure smooth execution of QI work
    2. Help lead a QI Community of Practice for QI practitioners in Kenya
    3. Provide internal training and decision-making support to managers and clinical staff on continuous performance measurement and quality improvement activities
    4. Work with the data team internally and the M&E team externally to track and interpret key data for performance improvement and wider learning
