Our program partnerships with public facilities have grown from 3 facilities in 2015, to 200 facilities serving over 250,000 women and babies across 7 countries in 2020. We currently run two large programs which focus on increasing health-seeking behavior amongst pregnant women/new moms through digital health (“PROMPTS”) and improving provider knowledge and skills to handle emergency obstetrics through a mentor model (“MENTORS”).     SCOPE OF THE CONSULTANCY
    The key tasks of the consultancy will be

    Review and recommend standard template for employment contract for different terms of employment,
    Review the current Performance Management process to reflect the current market trends,
    Review the current salary structure and recommend; a salary band, that highlights standard job titles, Job Grades, and requirements for movement from one Job Grade and Pay Grade to another,
    We would like to have a salary increment attached to performance evaluation. Design and recommend an increment scale attached to the performance evaluation score,

    OUTPUT 
    The consultant will provide the following

    Standard employment contract templates for, employment for service and employment of service,
    Standard performance evaluation process and the accompanying templates, 
    Training employees on the performance evaluation process,
    Standard salary structure that takes into account the above requirements,
    A salary increment structure that is guided by the performance evaluation scores,

    DURATION AND TIMELINES
    The consultant will begin on 22nd February and end on 22nd March 2021. Before the commencement of work, the consultant will be required to submit a detailed work plan.  
    SUPERVISION AND GUIDANCE
    The Consultant will be expected to be self-motivated and able to work independently. Supervision and support will be provided by the Human Resources Coordinator and Director of Operations. The HRC will provide a general induction to the consultancy work, relevant documents, and information required.

    Post-graduate diploma in HR including CHRP-K would be an asset,

    Job Summary: This role is seeking a Client Success Agent to work in the Help Desk team under the PROMPTS program. This individual will work with the Client Success Associate to ensure mothers in our helpdesk are getting the services they need.

    We are looking for someone who is interested in building skills in customer service and health education. This person should be intelligent, passionate, and customer-centric.

    The clinical helpdesk agent will report directly to the Client Success Associate.

    Primary Responsibilities

    This role will include the following responsibilities:

    Respond to 200+ questions each day from users via SMS (possibly other channels such as Facebook and Telegram as well)
    Make sure all questions are responded to within 1 hour (high priority questions) or 4 hours (lower priority questions) during working hours with possibility of working over the weekends or public holidays with overtime compensation
    Continuously update Q&A database as applicable and alert a supervisor if the messaging platform or FreshDesk stops functioning
    Ask for help if a medical response is needed (and not in the existing database) from a medical professional. Do not guess about medical information.
    Refer clients to the appropriate partner organization for specific issues (mental health, miscarriage/loss, abuse, etc)
    Understand clients’ perspectives and feedback on the services they have received and communicate insights to the Q&A team
    Progress reports should be shared with the supervisor on a weekly basis.
    Report daily to the supervisor on the number of questions answered and any possible challenge that needs to be addressed.
    Send a weekly report to the supervisor with a spreadsheet showing week’s progress
    Send a monthly report latest by 30th/31st on the month’s progress, questions answered, lessons learnt, successes, challenges, solutions provided and recommendations on how to improve the Q&A.
    Support in training new clinical help desk agents as needed.

    Purpose / Objective: The position is responsible for providing leadership for professional development and implementation of programs and support services that enhance the theoretical knowledge and clinical practice of the clinical workforce.

    Job Summary: Jacaranda Health is expanding its mentorship program in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) to new counties in Kenya.
    This is an on-site mentoring approach, where our team of EmONC mentors lead continuous medical education (CME) sessions, one-on-one mentorship, skills trainings, and simulation drills for emergencies, leading to a significant and sustained improvement in EmONC knowledge and skills. Our team will work with county health administrators to adapt the current model for the county context. Under the supervision of the Program Management Team, the EmONC Mentor will be responsible for oversight and execution of the county-specific mentorship program in the field.
    Primary Responsibilities

    Junior Software Developer

    As a Junior Software Developer, you will take ownership, responsibility, and accountability for running, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization’s codebase, systems, and data flows.
    Specific Responsibilities
    Software Development

    Build and maintain data flows and integrations between various platforms and databases, including but not limited to messaging and ticketing platforms, GCP, AWS, MongoDB and more.
    Create and maintain MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases for organization’s data.
    Prepare technical specifications as well as documentation for software engineering analysis.
    Develop and evaluate technical design, architecture and framework.
    Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle inclusive of collection, design, analysis, development technologies and version control etc.
    Conduct application testing of parts, modifications and entire systems.
    Prepare and execute training plus documentation for software engineering applications.
    Support task plans, estimation, schedules and staffing.
    Direct and review software engineers plus consultants work on project teams.
    Design and develop technical solutions on the basis of functional specifications.
    Design code, install, maintain, unit test and retrofit software programs.
    Evaluate code non-conformities and prepare code enhancements.
    Develop documents for use through internal and external clients.
    Provide technical support and information to various team members.
    Review software design ideas and present work estimates.
    Work closely with other members of the technical team, developers, UX designers, business, and systems analysts.

    Team

    Collaborating with management, team leads, and team members to design and implement new processes, to resolve issues, and to ensure solutions are viable and consistent
    Structuring and prioritising business requirements and communicating plans with stakeholders for review and approval
    Maintaining and updating processes and procedures
    Training team members on technical and non-technical subjects.

    Other

    Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

    Skill Requirements

    Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role.
    Extensive experience with Python development in a fast-paced business environment.
    Experience creating and maintaining MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases.
    Experience working with Cloud Services (AWS, GCP, Azure.)
    Experience with Docker
    Experience with Machine Learning platforms.
    Extensive experience with RESTful Web Services.
    A background in data science or data engineering will be considered a strong bonus.
    Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
    Knowledge of other coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git.)
    Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
    Familiarity with UI toolkits and frameworks.
    Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
    Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
    Very strong attention to detail.

    Education: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, or any other related field.
    Experience: The candidate must have at least 3-4 years’ experience in a software development position, preferably working as a software developer in a fast-paced and dynamic business setting. A background in data science or data engineering will be considered a strong plus. Experience working in the Health sector will also be considered a plus.
