    Job purpose
    To lead the day-to-day execution of Evidence Action’s multi-country carbon program, and to support the building of strategic partnerships, within and without the climate change sector, to expand the impact of dispensers beyond Evidence Action’s implementation
    Duties and responsibilities
    Carbon Financing

    Lead the carbon asset development in collaboration with our external partners, in countries implementing Safe Water programs.
    Collaborate with our program and monitoring and evaluation teams to execute the appropriate monitoring protocols and execute the program in a way optimized for carbon financing.
    Manage the annual carbon program implementation budget.
    Line manages the carbon financing team.
    Working with 3rd party technical contractor, interpret carbon methodologies and proactively communicate the same to internal stakeholders.
    Work with 3rd party technical contractor to lead the implementation of procedures required for the verification of country carbon clusters.
    Ensure that we provide timely and high-quality data to 3rd party technical contractor(s).
    Support with providing cost and revenue projections related to Safe Water carbon assets.
    Proactively identify, assess and communicate internally any risks with regard to carbon processes.
    Provide the context of carbon finance to evolving Safe Water operations.
    Manage the records and administration of payments for carbon assets issued for Safe Water activities.
    Advise Evidence Action leadership on evolving climate policy trends, challenges and opportunities in the carbon and climate finance landscape.
    Lead Evidence Action in the development of a strategy for new carbon programs and in its implementation.
    Support 3rd party technical contractor and Evidence Action in the development and agreement of new Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements for Safe Water carbon assets.
    Represent Evidence Action in regional and international fora for engagement and decision making on carbon markets, climate finance and climate change in general.

    Partnerships and fundraising Support:

    Contribute to Safe Water partnership, fundraising, and donor reporting efforts, primarily by providing technical advice and content on carbon asset development, lessons learnt, and/or carbon milestones achieved.

    Requirements
    Professional Qualifications & Skills

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with strong Management skill.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
    Should be an effective communicator verbally as well as through writing skills.
    Adept project manager to keep a large number of stakeholders engaged and on target.
    Experience developing projects and programs for the carbon markets.
    Experience working in the water sector desirable.
    Work experience in managing a cross-cultural team in East Africa.
    Experience building robust partnerships with governments and NGO’s.
    Experience influencing relevant stakeholders and working through others in a matrixed organizational environment.
    A critical, analytical, and process-oriented thinker with a willingness to form and adjust opinions based on evidence.

    Job purpose

    Duties and responsibilities

    Setting up and confirmation of ILC water treatment systems in the field offices.
    Transporting of ILC water treatment systems/devices to the field.
    Installation of water treatment systems on recommended waterpoints in collaboration with the owners.
    Filling in documentation and data for the work process in a timely manner.
    Calibration of the system to the recommended chlorine levels.
    Installation of water treatment systems on recommended water points often on elevated storage tank planforms.
    Ensure safe handling and accountability of chlorine and ILC device part stocks in the store, office and designated sites.
    Proper record keeping by completing relevant forms, documents, and records that are important in inventory tracking.
    Collecting all field data for program assessment and accountability, by use of smartphones.
    Maintaining high integrity and stewardship of the organizational assets and program field materials assigned for work execution.

    Requirements
    Qualifications:

    Vocational training and/or Craft Certificate qualification in Plumbing and/or general fitting from a recognized institution

    Requirements

    Graduate qualification and/or Professional qualification in Human Resource Management, Social Science/Studies, or Organizational Development.
    Minimum 10 years Human Resources (HR) experience.
    At least three years of regional human resource responsibilities in a senior management position within an international NGO and in implementing world-class services in international organizations and ideally, in a network setting to diverse, dispersed and dynamic teams.
    Membership to IHRM is required.
    Must have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
    A bilingual speaker (English and French) is preferred but not required.
    Possesses intellectual independence and the courage to make difficult decisions, along with a capacity for complex problem-solving and a keen ability to diagnose organizational performance issues.

    Stamping all the payment vouchers processing and ensuring they are properly scanned and saved on the box.
    File all the payment vouchers chronologically and ensure the files are easily retrieved.
    Payment voucher retrievals for verification, more so to support sampled transactions during the audit period.
    Assisting the accountant in ensuring that all DTW liquidated advances are labelled filed and referenced to the tracker prepared by the assigned accountant.
    Assets Management- updating the current Evidence Action Kenya Asset register by ensuring all assets in the register are tagged, the status of the asset is updated as well as ensuring all additions and disposals are properly captured and reconciled with the Inventory online system.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Procurement Planning
    The Senior Associate, Procurement ESA will support country teams to develop annual procurement plans by;

    Collaborating with various program/departmental leads to identify procurement needs and developing procurement plans to ensure that the right goods and services are acquired at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right price.
    Coordinating periodic review and update of the procurement plans to ensure that all needs are identified and that the plans are kept alive.
    Monitoring the implementation of procurement plans.

    Coordination of Procurement Activities

    Support country teams in the identification of vendors and assessing performance to ensure Evidence Action has an effective and optimal mix of vendors. Constantly research to broaden and ensure a vendor base that is reliable and competitive.
    Periodically analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply-based issues, minimize risks, ensure continuity of supply, and identify emerging vendors in the markets across ESA region.
    In collaboration with technical teams, obtain and review product specifications or scope of work for services; ensure that specifications and scopes are clear, objective and complete.
    Support country teams in bidding and tender processes, preparation and issuance of EOI, RFQ, ITB, RFP or other tender documents as required.
    Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure that all procurement documentation is up-to-date and properly filed.
    Ensure compliance of all procurement activities with company policies and procedures, donor regulations and jurisdiction laws.

    Imports and Exports

    Ensure compliance with regulations governing international trade, including customs regulations, trade agreements, and export controls.
    Obtaining the requisite import/export documents such as PVOC, import permits, import declaration forms (IDFs) etc.

    Vendor Management:

    Supplier relationship management: Working closely with suppliers and end users to negotiate and review performance levels and identify remedial action for a reliable supply chain process.
    Ensure that vendors are compliant with Evidence Action policies and procedures put in place. e.g., Terms and Conditions, Statutory Requirements, CSI Checks etc.
    Act as a focal person for communication with vendors on behalf of Evidence Action.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct desk-based research to rapidly assess the potential of new programs by estimating the total addressable market, cost-effectiveness, evidence-base, strategic fit, and funding opportunities of promising interventions.
    Stay abreast of research trends and recent publications in the sector; interpret large quantities of evidence to inform program decision-making.
    Work with cost-effectiveness and MLE staff to design, develop, and continuously refine cost-effectiveness models, monitoring frameworks, theories of change, and program evaluations.
    Design and consult on early stage field activities, program scoping, and piloting of new programs in select countries. Use the results from these activities to inform the design of program implementation.
    Conduct stakeholder outreach (study authors, implementing organizations, donors) to solicit feedback on new programs, their design, key gaps, and whether there is interest in collaborating with Evidence Action.
    Develop and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with partner organizations (e.g., implementing organizations, government officials, academic researchers).
    Independently lead high-stakes meetings with donors and government officials; present the business case for potential new programs.

    Requirements

    2 – 4 years of work experience in addition to a Master’s or PhD in a related field such as public health, international development, economics, or statistics.
    Highly knowledgeable in analyzing and interpreting research; experience with reviewing academic literature, performing cost-effectiveness analyses, and synthesizing large quantities of data and evidence for decision making in program design and implementation.
    Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; experience using large data sets and quantitative analysis to drive decision making.
    Strong task management and organizational skills; proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
    Experience in effectively communicating and negotiating with, presenting to, and managing a variety of stakeholders in multicultural settings, including researchers, implementing partners, donors, and government officials.
    Advanced verbal, writing, and presentation skills in English; ability to communicate complex research methodologies and findings to a non-technical audience clearly and succinctly.
    High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with Stata, R, SPSS, or other statistical packages is a bonus.

    Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of HR objectives.
    Provide day-to-day technical advice & guidance on employee relations and performance management matters to staff and management in accordance with the prevailing employment laws and internal policies and procedures.
    Advise and act on disciplinary matters in accordance with the Employment laws and established policies and procedures including Termination of Appointment.
    Support in developing materials for the effective management of employees for Managers/supervisors.
    Establish and maintain appropriate systems for identifying, planning, delivering and measuring learning and development.
    Manage a training plan that details required training that is delivered within the agreed/specific timescales and ensure outcomes are appropriately measured and reported on.
    Any other duties that may be assigned from time.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Humanities, Sociology or a related field. Additional HR certification such as CHRP will be an added advantage.
    Minimum 7 years HR generalist experience.
    Project management experience – experience managing human resources functions during a growth phase is desired.
    Multi country, multicultural work experience is required.
    Ability to build and execute short- and long-term work plans.
    Demonstrable knowledge of good and dynamic HR practices in employee relations and performance management.
    Good understanding of employment legislation.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Sound knowledge of HR best practices.
    Technologically proficient in use of technology to communicate effectively & professionally.
    Excellent analytical and data management skills.
    Results oriented and strong attention to details.
    Passionate, highly self – motivated, energetic and enthusiastic team player.
    Membership to IHRM is required.
    INGO experience will be an added advantage.
    Must have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
