    The Regional Grant Coordinator will be assisting the Head of Region and Country teams in coordination and information management as well as in providing technical support in relation to the process of proposal writing and project development, project and contract management including reporting with a particular focus on compliance with the requirements of the donors. Key donors are Danida, Europeaid, Echo, private foundations, other Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) partners and Government funding.
    Currently, the Danish RC works in Kenya, Eritrea, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Malawi and Zimbabwe. The Danish RC supports RCRC National Societies (NS) within their interventions in the fields of for instance Emergency Relief, Resilience, Health, Psychosocial Support (PS), Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), and Organisational Development (OD).
    We emphasize strengthening of our RCRC NS, through organisational development as well as operational capacity building, and we consider integrity, transparency, autonomy and sustainable volunteer structures as conditions for building long-term effectiveness and efficiency.
    Regional Grant Coordinator Job Responsibilities
    Advise the Head of Region (HoR) and support the Country Coordinators (CCs) across the region on all issues related to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA, EU, Europeaid/ECHO) proposal development and contract management, donor guidelines compliance and project monitoring, evaluation and learning (PMEL);
    Function as the Danish RC Regional focal point for project cycle management (PCM) and help to make the linkage between strategy and programmes more explicit;
    Plan and provide quality assurance (QA) to the yearly regional Danish RC Country and Projects Report process;
    Lead on efforts to enhance the Danish RC regional and country-level capacity to manage MoFA, Europeaid/ECHO other contracts;
    Support the HoR and CCs in their responsibilities to ensure positive donor relations and to contribute to wider RCRC Movement cooperation;
    Identify new relevant areas of cooperation with the EU and others in the East and Southern Africa region and support the HoR in developing strategies and plans in the region ensuring that the Danish RC is well-positioned to apply for other potential new funding sources.
    Profile The ideal candidate holds a Master’s Degree in a relevant academic field.
    Requirements for the Regional Grant Coordinator Job
    A minimum of 5 years´ of relevant experience in development and/or humanitarian project management and programming.
    A minimum of 3 years’ field experience in direct project implementation in developing or post-crisis countries.
    Experience with EU/DANIDA specific funding, in particular related to their proposal application and reporting procedures.
    Project cycle management (PCM) and financial management experience.
    Documented experience of donor proposal and report writing.
    Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
    Strong analytical and strategy development skills in assessment, project design and understanding donor requirements.
    A relevant academic degree in a social science, international development or similar.
    Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    Confidence in situations of stress and able to handle a heavy but varied workload for a long period of time.
    Results-orientated but at the same time innovative and flexible.
    Understanding that process and ownership are key to achieving results in culturally and politically sensitive environments.
    Excellent diplomacy, communication, coordination, negotiation, networking and facilitation skills.
    The ability to travel frequently within the region, particularly to Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Rwanda as well as to Europe when required.

    Spearhead evaluations, selected research activities and baseline surveys by providing the necessary program and organizational support.

    Leverage a mix of informational sources and research methods – project M&E and other partner data, observations from staff and partners, primary and secondary market research – to (i) analyze project progress towards goals and learning objectives, (ii) communicate those findings externally (e.g. to donor, external partners) and internally (e.g. to project staff), and (iii) apply that learning into improved work-planning and project activities. 
    Track and analyze project indicators and other useful statistics and prepare high-quality and timely reports using the recommended formats and communication channels. 
    Participate in regular senior management planning meetings, and provide analytical feedback and support to inform technical decisions by senior management and the technical component leads. 
    Coordinate regularly with ACDI/VOCA’s headquarters office in Washington, DC, especially the program management M&E teams.
    Qualifications
    At least 5 years  of practical and management experience  in the performance monitoring plans, evaluation, collaboration and learning, preferably with knowledge of USAID’s CLA approach and measuring systemic change.  
    Bachelor’s degree in a field related to monitoring, evaluation, knowledge management, and learning.  
    Experience with USAID programs and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations desired.  
    Previous experience working in Kenya or East Africa strongly preferred. 
    Demonstrated ability to apply analytical methods practically in the complex setting of the day-to-day lives of project beneficiaries highly preferred.

    1. Overall Planning and Management of ESARO

    SNV Kenya is currently seeking a Dairy Value Chain Director for the anticipated USAID funded Kenya Feed the Future Crop and Dairy Market Systems Development Activity Program. The project’s primary focus will be to increase agricultural productivity and incomes of smallholder farmers. This anticipated FTF-funded Activity will have a strong focus on sustainable, private-sector driven market development in the dairy, horticulture, and grains value chains. The Dairy Value Chain Director is expected to manage value chain
    assessments that will inform interventions following a facilitative approach that promotes lasting sustainability. Program interventions in dairy will work through market participants as drivers of change and are likely to target improved competitiveness and trade, increased farm household productivity and market access, improved nutrition-related behaviors and improved access to diverse and quality food, and building the sustainability local organizations.
    The Dairy Value Chain Director is expected to lead the development and management of all interventions across the dairy value chain. This position is will be required to lead a team of technical advisors. The location for this position is Kisumu.
    Responsibilities
    Serve as the senior field-level manager and representative with primary responsibility for coordinating, planning, and implementing technical interventions across the dairy value chain.
    Support the Chief of Party in all aspects of program management including ensuring integration and coordination across consortium teams and the establishment of a “one team” approach to implementation.
    Lead design of program interventions that identify and develop new market opportunities that seek to upgrade the potential of the dairy value chain.
    Develop value chain strategies for working with producers and enterprises to develop their capacity to identify and respond to business opportunities in the dairy value chain. These strategies should facilitate private sector engagement and investment among various levels of agriculture value chains including but not limited to producer, trader, processor, and wholesaler levels.
    Ensure that program strategies facilitate strategic, commercially viable partnerships between value chain actors, especially with women and youth.
    Manage a team of technical advisors that provide technical leadership in areas related to improved aggregation, post-harvest handling and storage; market linkages; business enabling environment; and other interventions that promote value chain competitiveness and food security.

    Ensure project budgets and plans are kept up to date to reflect progress and changes to assumptions, including any reforecast as required
    Maintain detailed records as required for both internal and external audit purposes
    Take responsibility for preparation of all financial and non-financial information required for donors and UDPK management as required in both routine reporting and ad hoc requests
    Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review Direct Costs and feedback to Open Up Finance Committee where necessary
    Ensure UDPK’s compliance with tax and any other financials statutory obligations
    Support Project team at all levels to discharge their responsibilities.
    Provide financial input into forward planning process to support completion of project lifecycle

    Qualifications for the Project Accountant Job

    Job Summary:
    Under the Supervision of the Project Manager, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist has the overall responsibility for coordination of all monitoring and evaluation activities for the M-SAWA project. The M&E Specialist will be responsible for establishing and implementing an effective system to monitor progress, impacts and successes of project activities and performance at all levels. The M&E Specialist will also monitor all grant activities and ensure that the project complies with Global Affairs Canada (GAC’s) performance reporting requirements.

    Design, organize and supervise implementation of baseline, rolling and periodic surveys, and quantitative and qualitative data collection tools.
    Liaise with MEDA’s HQ based M&E staff, the Field Project Officers, the Senior Project Management Team, and lead firm business partners and their respective senior management teams to:-Develop a set of performance indicators and monitoring plans that reflect the project strategy. -Ensure the availability of necessary data for project activity areas.
    Work with the Project team and to integrate M&E into ongoing project planning and implementation systems and ensure adherence to GAC’s M&E standards
    Take lead in the development of appropriate monitoring, tracking and reporting systems, tools and templates that enhance monitoring of project outputs and quality, generate quality evidence on project impact and promote and ensure use of data for decision-making processes
    Support the project in writing beneficiary stories from the field
    Collect results generated from the implementation of the Results Management Strategy, consolidate data and perform appropriate analysis, including statistical and financial analyses, to allow the comparison of performance between lead firm businesses, between entrepreneurs, and across project outcomes and activities.
    Generate data reports (tables/graphs/reports) from the database at regular intervals, ensuring reports/information are available for program implementation staff as required. Facilitate data analysis with program implementation team as requested;
    Conduct regular field visits to ensure all elements of the data system is being utilized effectively, assessing and identifying breakdowns and areas that require clarifications and improvements; Analyse project results and inform senior project management of any gaps or shortcomings in the attainment of project goals.
    Work with lead firm businesses and project partners in evaluating gathered data and analyzing lessons learned and best practices for subsequent activities.
    Work closely with the project teams to develop and deliver staff/partner trainings, improving capacities in monitoring and evaluation and database management: data collection, entry, verification and analysis; and other identified needs
    Contribute to understanding of and support for mobile data collection hardware and software.
    Prepare and complete periodic appraisal reports including midterm and final evaluation to fulfill project requirements.
    Perform any other duties to advance the M&E objectives of the project as necessary.
    Manage the cross-cutting team (Gender, Environment and IT Officers) delineating their responsibilities by grant/project specific to support the programmatic activities of the project and ensure these are monitored and evaluated in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
    Key Competencies required:
    Knowledge and Experience:
    Masters degree in quantitative discipline (Preferably in Statistics, Economics, Social Science or any Development related field
    At least 6 Years experience in the Field of Monitoring and Evaluation; significant experience in private sector and international development will be an added advantage Knowledge of major quantitative & qualitative monitoring methodologies and proven ability to design monitoring instrumentation.
    Extensive experience with assessment, monitoring & evaluation; information systems including MS Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), database and other computerized cloud data storage, data statistical analysis and management programs, and mobile data collection platforms.
    High level of proficiency in Windows Excel and/ or Statistical Software (SPSS, STATA etc.)
    Experience working directly with target clients (e.g. with large businesses, small-medium enterprises and entrepreneurs; personally, conducting interviews with rural respondents); experience in project sectors (agriculture, extractives, construction) desirable
    Demonstrated project evaluation and report writing expertise in preparing final reports for major donors.
    Strong facilitation, interpersonal, motivational, and communication/writing skills.
    Written and spoken English and Swahili;
    Willingness to work under pressure and to work extra hours when required.
    Willingness to travel 50% of the time to the project areas for project monitoring.
