    Duties

    The incumbent reports directly to the Building Engineer Supervisor.  
    The position holder is employed as a Trades Helper to assist the technicians of the skilled trades in the performance of routine and preventive maintenance, and new installations and demolition work.  
    The Building Engineer Supervisor will assign the incumbent to any of the skilled trade shops on a daily basis to assist the skilled technicians with maintenance and repair work throughout the Embassy Compound (NEC) office buildings, grounds and residential owned/leased properties.
     In addition to assisting the skilled trade technicians, the incumbent may be assigned tasks include material handling, painting, custodial type work, snow removal, common laborer work, and  grounds maintenance and gardening work.  

    Requirements:
    EXPERIENCE: 

    A minimum of two (2) years of maintenance or construction semi-skilled work experience in skilled trades such as mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing), electrical, carpentry, with significant focus on building systems

    JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

    Must have a basic technical understanding of major building mechanical systems and equipment. Must be familiar with construction techniques and workplace safety, personal protective equipment (PPE) – how and when to use it.

    Education Requirements:

    Completion of secondary school is required.

    LANGUAGE: 

    English level II (Limited knowledge) Written/Speaking/Reading is required (This may be tested).

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    The incumbent must be a visionary, forward thinker, and quick understudy with an aptitude to learn so he/she can anticipate the materials and tools the skilled technician will need ahead of time.
     Must be able to use  the typical lot of hand tools, small handheld power tools, vacuum cleaners, gardening tools, and ladders; must be adept at keeping work sites free of clutter and debris, clean and neat;
    must have a valid driver’s license for standard vehicles with at least five (5) years of experience driving.
    must use good safety practices and follow all safety requirements in execution of tasks and be able to use all appropriate PPE;
    additional abilities include responding to emergency situations in an efficient and timely manner to effect immediate repairs; work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments; must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to handle a large workload and multiple tasks; be able to take direction and must be organized; communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, contractors and vendors to obtain and provide pertinent information.

    Job Summary
    The Chief Officer shall be the authorized officer in the County Department of Investment and Cooperative Development and shall be responsible to the County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Industry, Tourism, Co-operative Development and Marketing.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    Administration of the county department
    Implementation of County Executive Committee resolutions as guided by the Executive Committee Member;
    Ensuring effective service delivery through implementation of laid out policies and regulations;
    Development and implementation of departments strategic plans and sector development plans;
    Ensuring promotion of national values and principles of governance as outlined in the constitution of Kenya 2010;

    Promoting articulate work plans for the implementation of well thought out PPP programs to ensure growth of various value chains and other related programs as outlined in the County CIDP.
    Maintaining effective collaboration and partnerships with other organs of the county, other county departments, the private sector and other stakeholders;
    Promoting the realization of County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP);
    Ensuring timely, efficient communication and coordination of departmental affairs;
    Interpreting and applying National and County laws and other related statutes in line with the County goals and objectives;
    Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals; and
    Performing other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications

    Be a Kenyan citizen.
    Have a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Kenya;
    Possession of a relevant professional qualification and membership with a relevant professional body will be added advantage;
    A Master’s degree or higher academic qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.
    Have a vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in a relevant field, 5 years of which MUST be in leadership or senior management position in public or private sector;
    Have a proven experience in managing resources in a high performing organization;
    Demonstrate general knowledge of the County Government and its functions.
    Demonstrate a thorough understanding of socio-economic development objectives and the Homabay county integrated development plan and vision 2030
    Be result oriented and a strategic thinker;

    Implementing disbursement of bursaries and scholarships to access education opportunities for affirmative action groups;
    Undertaking civic education and community sensitization on the National Government affirmative action programmes and policies;
    Coordinating project formulation and implementation for affirmative action groups;
    Ensuring projects recommended for funding are guided by national development priorities and comply with the object and purpose of the Fund;
    Undertaking capacity building for affirmative action groups;
    Developing and execute project designs, work plans and budget on programmes; 
    Implementing partnerships and linkages with relevant training providers; and
    Implement the guidelines for approval of projects. 

    Qualifications
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Project Planning and Management, Education, Development Studies, Community Development, Entrepreneurship, Gender Studies, Business Management/Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

    Duties and responsibilities

    Initiating, interpreting, implementing and reviewing administrative polices, strategies, procedures and programmes;

    Duties
    The job holder serves as the Team Lead, overseeing and supervising HIV Prevention Services for HIV Service Delivery Pillar, Division of Global HIV & TB (DGHT), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Kenya. The job holder is a Senior Public Health Specialist responsible for planning, formulating, analyzing, evaluating, and/or implementing policies for CDC’s public health programs for Key Populations (HIV prevention, Adolescents Girls and Young Women (including Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS- Free, Mentored and Safe – DREAMS), Orphans and Vulnerable Children (including prevention and social protection to reduce vulnerability, high-risk clients (requiring Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis – PrEP) and other prevention interventions), and uncircumcised men (offered Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision – VMMC) under PEPFAR.     EXPERIENCE:  

    At least five years of public health experience in the management and delivery of HIV/AIDS services in Africa or other developing countries is required. These include

    Basic Function of Position

    Job Description: 
    Reporting to the HR Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective benefit and payroll administration including accurate and timely payroll preparation, reporting and analysis.
    Qualifications: 

    Degree in Human Resources Management or its equivalent with professional certification (CHRP) or its equivalent.
    Excellent analytical skills, including advanced excel knowledge required.
    In addition, they must have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar position preferably in a fast paced environment.
