    Responsibilites

    Build, own, and maintain substantial portions of the core software platform and the integrations with third party systems. 
    Develop  design documents, perform code reviews, and contribute to implementation decisions.
    Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations and Services) to ship scalable software solutions. 
    Continually improve our codebase with clean and efficient code as well as solving problems using the most appropriate technology.
    Enhance development processes and tool chain to move towards CI/CD (continuous integration and delivery)  

    Experience and Capabilities

    5+ years coding in one of the following languages: Java, Node JS or Python.  
    Experience developing webfront ends using PHP, HTML and CSS
    Developed and launched applications on Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) especially using microservices architectures 
    Experience with designing tables/schemas in relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Dyanamo DB) 
    Working knowledge of REST API development for mobile/web use 
    Expert proficiency in Agile development process
    Ability to work in a distributed team
    Working knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services) would be advantagous.
    Basic understanding of Information Security
    Demonstrated understanding of UI design principles
    Enthusiasm to continually improve skills and learn new technologies
    Fluent in English and Kiswahili

    Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools. Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
    Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met
    File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects to conform to design and layouts specifications.
    Mark defects such as cracks, and splits for repair.
    Measure, Inspect and test finished work pieces to verify quality of finished work
    Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
    Safely disposing of chemical waste.

    Job Expectations and Scope: The Solar Technician is in charge of troubleshooting the field issues reported by the end-customers regarding the solar home system kit (battery box, router, torch, radio, lamps, PV panel etc.).
    The role requires the service technician to train the customer agents on the products operation and installation, additionally he will be the first point of contact for the customer and will be providing support and guidance regarding the solar system kit.
    Key Responsibilities

    Troubleshoot various solar system to identify problems
    Be the first point of contact for Rural Spark’s distribution partner regarding field technical issues
    Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and solar equipment
    Provide remote/on-site guidance and support to distribution partners
    Provide customer/installer trainings, and advise customers concerning equipment operation
    Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed and parts used
    Assist the product management teams to define and improve customer experience

    Desired Skills and Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree/diploma in electrical engineering, electronics or Solar Energy
    Experience with and/or an understanding of solar energy systems
    Hands-on experience and understanding of electronic system and components: AC – DC, Power supply, loads, inverters and transformers.
    Demonstrated experience with electronic circuit/PCB handling, troubleshooting, component soldering, electronic equipment’s installation and cabling
