    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

     Ensure ETL jobs within the data warehouse run on a daily basis and data for reporting is available by start of business.
    Gather information from the business users to understand their detailed requirements and expectations
    Analyze business/use case requirements from BI analysts to determine operational problems, define data modeling requirements, gather and validate information, apply judgment and statistical tests and develop data structures to support the generation of business insights and strategy;
    Receive requests from BU and translate to technical requirements
    Service requests from users on data, dashboards, reports and information
    Manage queue of BU requests and communicate to the appropriate Advanced analytics, BI, or data management functions
    Assist in developing and implementing a program of continuous improvement of BI processes through a cycle of analysis of existing systems, processes, and tools, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing high-impact changes, and getting feedback from stakeholders.
    Build visualizations to summarize and present key messages to business and other stakeholders;
    Filter, “clean” data, and review reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems;
    Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
    Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
    Locate and define new business and technological process improvement opportunities
    Provide test interfaces for users to test the reports and dashboards before being put on the production environment.
    Develop and maintain documentation/manuals on system configuration or setup.
    Carry out technical user training as required to enable users interpret BI reports.
    Secure BI solutions by putting adequate controls and restrict access to programs by users in accordance to the requirements of the bank.
    Attend to systems/solution failures and resolve or coordinate the resolution of the problem.
    Roll-out Business intelligence solutions to stakeholders.
    Assist in preparing system definition/specification by the users highlighting technical requirements.
    Carry-out system testing and remediate UAT issues.
    Analysis of business processes, identification of alternative solutions, assessing feasibility, and recommending new approaches; evaluating the factors which must be addressed in the change program and helping establish requirements for the implementation of changes in the business process.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related degree analytical field
    Experience in BI/software development – MUST
    Excellent understanding of ODI ETL tool and data integration tools
    Very good knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and a fair knowledge of Unix and Linux
    A good understanding of relational databases, particularly SQL Server (MUST) and Oracle
    Good understanding of programming languages and other programming tools
    Experience with relational data modeling, data management and data processing
    Experience in analysis, design and development of efficient business systems
    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
    Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.) will be an added advantage
    Good knowledge of reporting and business analytics tools
    Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
    Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages
