    About The Role

    We are seeking a dynamic, driven and solution oriented individual for the Chief Accountant role for our Kenya operations.

    What You’ll Do

    Ensure accurate and timely completion of Monthly & Year End Financial reports and to meet statutory and global deadlines
    Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and local GAAP.
    Sound knowledge of GL, AR, AP and Costing functions.
    Generate Financial Reports and statements for management reporting
    Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective solutions.
    Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues, and prepare variance analysis – Actual vs Budget, Actual vs Prior Year.
    Respond to adhoc analytical report/ inquiries from management in a timely and accurate manner.
    Functional supervision of reporting staff and provide guidance and training to other Accountants as and when required.
    Assist in budget preparation, Internal controls, cost control measures and expense management.
    Coordinate with internal & external auditors & provide necessary information and prepare requested documentations & schedules.
    Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
    Prepare, understand, and adhere to tax regulations and ensure timely payment and filing of tax returns of the company.
    Understand Corporate Laws and regulations and other local laws of the country and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements

    What You’ll Need

    Graduate Degree in Accounting/Finance or Commerce, Knowledge of computerized accounting, and typing.
    Qualified Accountant is a plus (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA, etc.)
    4 -6 years professional accounting experience within Local market with at least 3 years experience in managing teams.
    Ability to effectively supervise staff comprised of entry and journey level professionals engaged in carrying out departmental functions.
    Extensive knowledge of generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures and departmental guidelines.
    Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications.
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees
    Experience of making prescribed data verification and/or procedural checks on information.
    Good planning and organizing skills with the ability to meet prescribed deadlines.
    Full fluency in English, written and verbal
