    Job Purpose

    Responsibilities

    Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.

    Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
    Ensure tax returns are filed on a timely basis

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field
    Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing
    Must possess a valid CRB Certificate or Report from a recognised Credit Reference institution.
    Minimum 7 years’ experience as a CPA in a corporate setting
    Extensive corporate and personal tax experience
    Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
    Expertise working with XERO will be an advantage
    Well-conversant with IFRS financial statements

    Overview

    The Social Work Assistant reports to a Social Worker, Senior Social Worker and/or the Lead Social Worker and Social Work Manager.
    The Social Worker works with the families in the community to ensure that the children beneficiaries of Tushinde Children’s Trust are attending school and are being well cared for at home.

    Key Duties include:

    To identify and locate children who are beneficiaries of Tushinde Children’s Trust, together with their supervisors complete a detailed case assessment.
    To establish relations with the child’s parent or guardian, the school the child attends and other key players in the child’s livelihood.
    To act as the liaison between the child, parent or guardian, the schools and Tushinde Children’s Trust.
    To follow up the attendance of children in the school, their performance in class and their general health and wellbeing.
    To follow up the children in regards to their development and health.
    To make appropriate referrals for the caregivers and the children to access needed services such as health and child protection services.
    To implement an effective individual case management system for the beneficiaries of Tushinde Children’s Trust.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Qualifications

    Consultancy: Consolidation of Financial Inclusion Statistics and Development of Associated Training Material

    The consultancy will be aimed at establishing the gender data gaps with regards to financial inclusion and asset ownership in the region as well as the extent to which there are mechanisms in place to monitor the access and use of women to green financing. This will culminate in a training which will form part of the SADC gender statistics program which will build the capacity of national statistics offices, ministries of women and finance of member states, and other relevant stakeholders to measure financial inclusion.
    The consultant will be supervised by the Gender statistics specialist of the UN Women ESA-RO, with additional inputs and advice from a steering committee consisting of the SADC statistics unit, SADC gender unit, SADC Directorate of Finance Investment and Customs and the UN Women ESA-RO Women Economic Empowerment advisor.

    Scope of work:

    The overall goal of the project is to establish and describe the current avilablity of gender related financial inclusion data and develop training materials showcasing international best practices of mainstreaming gender in financial inclusion and asset ownership in the region.

    Duties And Responsibilities
    Deliverables:

    Inception report that contains a literature review and describes the process and methods that will be used for data collection across member states and the proposed training plan and toolkit.
    Collection and consolidation of existing financial inclusion indicator data as it relates to the Financial Inclusion Data Working Group indicator framework and the ‘SADC financial inclusion gender actio n plan’ in close collaboration with the SADC statistics unit.
    Investigate, pronounce and make recommendations on data availability related to outcomes and impact of financial inclusion
    Make recommendations on improved data use and further research opportunities
    Consolidation of the key findings of the key indicator study in a 20-page regional report.
    One training toolkit consisting of 30-50 pages. It should include practical examples from countries in the region and should be compiled as a collection of best practices and practical ‘Ideas and Tips’ of how to mainstream gender in financial inclusion data systems as well as measure outcomes and impact.
    Facilitate one regional workshop in a country in the SADC region that launches the findings of the study and socializes the measurement toolkit.

The post holder will: monitor, assess, analyze and produce reports about key results and achievements across grantees’ projects; support capacity development workshops every year for new grantees; provide technical support to UN Trust Fund shortlisted applicants and grantees to ensure the compliance with the UN Trust Fund requirements on Results-Based Planning, Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation; support RBM and M&E activities at the UN Women corporate level as requested; and contribute to the development and implementation of the UN Trust Fund’s online Grants Management System (GMS) or other similar systems.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    Coordinate UN Trust Fund’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management activities at the Secretariat Level:
    Facilitate the implementation of the UN Trust Fund’s M&E framework – part of the UN Trust Fund’s Strategy
    Provide quality assurance of UNTF program documents through adhoc review of results frameworks in order to meet SMART criteria.

    Assess quality of M&E work by grantees, and prepare periodic technical assessment updates and recommendations for improvements and future guidance on M&E.
    Contribute to the development and implementation of the UN Trust Fund’s online systems used/developed by the team:
    Provide substantive management inputs on SHINE Hub, a multi-lingual platform for amplification and co-production of knowledge.
    Provide substantive inputs and support to the GMS team during the requirement gathering to finalize the requirements and business flows for M&E-related modules of GMS (or other similar systems used by the team), including Evaluation module, Data Analysis Sections (canned reports, trend analysis, query builder, data representation in public facing pages).
    As a business user, assist GMS team in reviewing and providing comments on technical specification documents, the mockups and demo site for M&E-related modules, including evaluation module, to ensure that those M&E-related modules are developed in accordance with the UN Trust Fund requirements.
    Use GMS as one of the M&E tools of the UN Trust Fund and analyze the data from the evaluation module as well as Data Analysis sections to consolidate and summarize M&E work of the UN Trust Fund.

    Monitor financial exceptions reports for unusual activities or transaction, investigate anomalies and report to the supervisor conclusions and/or present recommendations for actions/decisions.

    Undertake corrective actions on un-posted vouchers, including vouchers with budget check errors, match exceptions and unapproved vouchers. Respond to requests to resolve financial data issues.
    Input data in Quantum and monitor status. Keep stakeholders and clients informed for timely action and/or decisions.

    Provide finance support to the Programme and Operations team

    Prepare PO and non-PO vouchers/invoices for projects.
    Support the review of financial reports from grantees to ensure proper recording of expenses providing feedback on technical accounting topics (ai. foreign currency, accruing staff costs, etc) and prepare the necessary journals (accounts payable journal vouchers or APJVs) to process the financial reports in Quantum ERP system to liquidate cash advances to grantees.
    Monitor each month over-expenditure of budgets and follow up with Budget Owner.
    Monitor regularly transactions posted to projects ensuring actual expenditure has been recorded against correct budget category and activity, take timely corrective actions as required.
    Monitor proper follow up of advances to implementing partners, review their financial reports together with project managers.
    Monitor and proper follow up of all the financial items in Month-end and Year-end closure instructions status and under the guidance of the Operations Manager, take correction actions as required.
    Keep stakeholders and clients informed for timely actions/decisions and review status reports for quality control.
    Provide information inputs to financial reports for Regional Office, HQ Finance and stakeholders.
    Provide inputs and take necessary actions to facilitate timely financial project closure, financial reporting, and closure of transactional processes.
    Provide administrative and procurement support to the UNTF procurement focal point to arrange procurement activities for projects.

    Duties And Responsibilities
