    Overall Purpose of the Job

    The Digital Communications Officer will be responsible for overseeing the outgoing and internal digital communications, the development and implementation of digital content, curating website content, photography and videography skills, and assisting with online and offline campaigns in the region.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Manage social media across E-plus’s multiple platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
    Create and maintain a proactive editorial social calendar; develop and post evergreen, timely, and dynamic content for all channels.
    Daily management of online relationships with supporters, customers and other stakeholders (Community management and social listening).
    Monitor, report and analyse results using tools such as Hoot suite and other platforms.
    Support the communication department in creating, managing and analyzing various paid and organic social media campaigns.
    Develop and manage social media advertising campaigns.
    Impeccable skills in photography and videography including the creation of short videos.
    Curating content for E-plus internal and external publications.
    Liaise regularly with the various departments to understand priorities, stay up to date about activities, track communications commitments and ensure all digital commitments are met.
    Website Management: Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO best practices to optimize content. Ensure the website is up-to- date and optimized for audiences.
    Keep up to date with latest digital developments and their application.
    To undertake other tasks and responsibilities compatible with the level and nature of the post as required.
    Champion the growth of social media networks and audiences, by routinely collecting data and providing analysis of digital and social media performance and trends across our channels.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Journalism.
    Over three years of professional experience in communications and / or marketing

    Experience in SQL query language is a plus.

    Able to interact and collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
    Capability to quickly assimilate business requirements, articulate current and future state, and lead users and stakeholders on solution design.

    Functional Competencies:

    Demonstrable knowledge of ending violence against women;
    Demonstrable experience working on advocacy for gender equality in Africa, preferably in East and Southern Africa.

    Required Skills and Experience
    Education:

    University studies in one of the following disciplines: gender studies, gender and development, international relations, peace studies, social work or or other relevant subjects is required related field;
    Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
    Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
    Have graduated with a university degree in (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
    Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
