    Responsibilities
    The Associate Finance and Budget Officer will perform tasks in the areas of administration, budget management and financial analysis. Within assigned authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

    Review, analyse and assist in the finalization of cost estimates and budget proposals, in terms of staff and non-staff requirements.
    Assist managers in the elaboration of resource requirements for budget submissions.
    Provide support to the preparation and implementation of the work programme, ensuring that financial resources are utilized to implement activities in accordance with the programme budget and allotments issued.
    Review, analyze and assist in the finalization of cost estimates and budget proposals related to the activities.
    Monitor expenditures of the Programme(s) against approved costed work plans and keep track of project expenditure per activity and donor/pledge ID, status of implementation and ensure compliance with United Nations financial rules and regulations; initiate project and/or budget revisions as required.
    Review requisitions for goods and services to ensure (a) correct objects of expenditure have been charged, and (b) availability of funds.
    Prepare budget performance submissions and assist in finalization of budget performance reports, analysing variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures.
    Prepare and submit for approval financial reports as per donor requirements and in cooperation with the Financial Resources Management Service in Vienna.
    Assist managers in the elaboration of resource requirements for budget submissions.
    Coordinate with other finance and budget staff on related issues during preparation of budget reports.
    Draft or prepare correspondence to respond to enquiries in respect to relevant financial and budget matters;
    Keep up-to-date on documents/reports/guidelines that have a bearing on matters related to programme budgets, ensuring compliance with United Nations policies and procedures.
    Provide guidance, training and daily supervision to other general service staff in the areas of budget and finance.
    Perform other work-related duties, as assigned.

    Education
    An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, management, economics, international relations or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
    Work Experience

    A minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related area is required.
    Work experience in grants, project and fund management applications, is required.
    Experience in working with an ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning Software) system is required.
    Experience in working with SAP/Umoja is desirable
    Experience in handling EU operating processes is desirable.
    Work experience in an international organization or within the United Nations system, including experience in applying financial rules/regulations as well as procurement rules, is desirable.

    Languages
    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

    Lead packaging and engineering concepts, commissioning to commercialization and launch, taking full accountability for the Technical Project Deliverables, working in partnership with Diageo Supply, EABL Supply Centers and CAPEX scoping engineers. Roll out such projects to supply.
    Carry out projects and co-ordinate plant trials on new processes / components with a view of cost cutting and or quality improvements to give the business a competitive advantage in the market.
    Develop packaging components and engineering solutions in liaison with marketing innovations for renovations / new products to capture market share in line with marketing objectives.
    Drive collaborations with Suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver innovations/renovations.
    To be a success you must have;

    A degree in a scientific discipline, e.g. Applied Science or Engineering.
    Post Graduate IBD/VLB Qualification.
    At least 4 years’ experience in Engineering Function
    Good understanding of total end-to-end supply chain, Planning & Manufacturing environment.
    Good understanding of manufacturing best practices e.g. DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing etc.
    In depth knowledge of at least one of the process streams and general knowledge of the other streams.
