    Responsibilities

    Develop and manage the overall FS IMT strategy from strategic planning through tactical execution
    Own the product roadmap of the organization platform thinking holistically across the entire value chain to further the organization’s position in the market
    Guide the business in the growth of both outward and inward remittances
    Exploit new business opportunities beyond wallet to wallet transactions
    In charge of the overall IMT revenue
    Develop an IMT business strategic partnership framework that defines the contractual engagement for onboarding new partners and Hubs.
    Identify key corridors and strategic partners for key marketing and pricing decision.
    Work closely with existing and new IMT partners to identifying opportunities that will ensure growth on revenue
    Define marketing strategy and plans to grow business in key corridors
    In liaison with the regulatory team drive deeper relationships with the regulator to ensure approval of new partners to new corridors
    Analyze the impact of the grey route partners and devise strategy that will reduce impact on the overall business performance
    Develop targeted IMT loyalty scheme aimed at retaining and recruiting new customers
    Working closely with the AML and AML teams ensure proper due diligence and compliance monitoring on existing and new partners

     
    QUALIFICATIONS

    Degree from a recognized university preferably in Business, Research, Finance or Economics
    A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
    At least 3 years’ experience in private banking or Financial Services industry, demonstrated progression and at least 3 years’ experience in a Telecommunications in a similar position.
    Must have a good understanding of the payment/financial services market.

    Under the line management of the Senior Data/GIS Manager, the REACH Data Officer is responsible for the production of REACH’s analysis products in Somalia, including the preparation of research design, support in designing sampling methods, data analysis plans, data collection tools, data cleaning scripts and processes, analysis scripts, analysis outputs and production of web maps and information management systems. The Data officer will support in the dissemination and evaluation stages of the research cycle.
    Functions
    Research Planning

    Contribute towards the identification and implementation of effective and adapted data management and analysis solutions for REACH research in Somalia and Kenya, in line with REACH’s relevant research and data guidelines.
    Support as designated by line manager sampling design, creation and management of data collection tools (ODK or KoBo), training on data cleaning and management techniques, support for data analysis set up (specifically conducted in the R environment).
    Contribute to draft research ToRs with a specific focus on sampling, data collection tools, the data analysis plan, as well as data management plan;
    Support the development of qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, ensuring requirements of research cycle/assessment are met;
    In coordination with relevant assessment and GIS officer(s), support construction of quantitative sample; Keep track of progress and delays of all assigned tasks throughout the research cycle. Ensure that delays or identified problems are reported by writing and orally in a timely manner.

    Research Implementation

    When relevant, support the identification and training of enumerators for primary data collection;
    When relevant, support oversight of data collection, in line with agreed TORs (including their Annexes), including data cleaning processes, checks and data cleaning scripts;
    In coordination with relevant assessment officer(s), document all changes in data collection that lead to a modification in the agreed TORs, ensuring that the Research manager, GIS Manager, IMPACT CC, and IMPACT HQ are informed and agree on the modifications.

    Data Management, Cleaning and Analysis

    Monitor accuracy of data collected in line with IMPACT’s Data Cleaning Minimum Standards Checklist;
    Cross check data collected in the field, ensure regular updates, and solve eventual discrepancies;
    Maintain, update and expand R-based systems of data management and analysis for data dissemination and reporting;
    Support statistical analysis and quantitative reporting on assessments.

    Drafting of Products

    Ensure that all REACH analysis products meet the requirements of REACH and concerned partners;
    In support of the Research Manager or CC, as requested, provide regular communication with IMPACT HQ on progress and deadlines for analysis outputs
    Ensure the drafting of timely and accurate data and analysis products (such as factsheets, graphics, web maps, dashboards), which comply with IMPACT’s guidelines;
    Ensure findings are accurately reported given the data collection and analysis methodology planned in TORs.
    Ensure that all analysis outputs are validated by IMPACT HQ before external release;
    Knowledge sharing and learning processes
    Provide content and contributes to lessons learned exercises

    Capacity building

    In coordination with line manager, conduct induction for new staff members, including training in basic technical data processing and analysis competencies
    Support the REACH GIS Manager in the development and implementation of capacity training plans for data and other team members within the Horn of Africa.
    Be available to provide regular support and technical backstopping to all teams and units within the country office.

    Internal Coordination

    Actively participate in regular team meetings;
    Ensure regular coordination and exchange with relevant colleagues;
    Engage in the development and implementation of IMPACT’s strategy in Somalia and Kenya.

    Data Confidentiality and Protection
    The Data Officer will maintain the strictest confidentiality on all data collected and related processes, ensuring full compliance with IMPACT’s data protection policy and SOPs. He/she will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of any information and data belonging to IMPACT and its partners, or collected during his/her assignment with REACH.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION

    Masters’ degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.). Or, Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with relevant work experience;
    5 years of experience in Data Science, Statistics, programming or GIS, preferably in a humanitarian context;

    Overview
    CIFOR-ICRAF’s research teams work on projects covering a wide range of topics, supported by a wide range of funders and involving a wide range of partners. The projects need to meet standards set by CIFOR-ICRAF policies and by funders. This requires the application of Project Management processes and the coordination between different units within CIFOR-ICRAF and partners outside CIFOR-ICRAF. The Program Coordinator provides supports in this to science team leaders and heads of country/regional programs and Principal Investigators (PIs) in those teams. Each Program Coordinator will support 1 or 2 such teams, depending on the size of teams.
    Duties and responsibilities
    Provide Project Management function for projects and activities, these include:

    Collaborate closely with PIs in the research teams/country programs assigned to the incumbent, for planning and implementation of project activities;
    Coordinate start?ups (inception meetings), implementation, and closing phases of project management cycles for projects in research portfolios assigned to the incumbent;
    Oversee annual planning and budgeting processes of projects in liaison with the team leader of the science team or country program and finance and prepare for engagement of audit reviews at the end of projects;
    Liaise with the Quality for Impact (Q4I) team and PIs on Theory of Change – Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Impact Assessment (MELIA) to ensure lessons are fed back to project development;
    Monitoring of projects, including ensuring regular check-ins with country teams and partners on implementation of activities, contractual and financial requirements (such as co-funding, BvA etc);
    Identify and take action to mitigate potential risks within projects and the work area;

    Ensure that the project meets targets by ensuring that teams and individuals document progress and meet the donor’s reporting requirements.

    Prepares various written outputs, e.g. sections of reports, analysis and draft TORs for partners and consultants in collaboration with the PI and monitor timely delivery by partners and consultants in line with contract requirements;
    Manage the production of the required funder technical reports, monitor the completion of project deliverables, monitor project resource use and initiate corrective action where necessary, ensuring the quality and completion of the reports is according to funder requirement and CIFOR-ICRAF standard;
    Ensure in collaboration with the Financial Services Unit that CIFOR-ICRAF’s budgetary requirements are met and internal reports are delivered on time.
    Advise the PIs and funder on issues that may impact the achievement of the project outcomes (including issues of sustainability and post project requirements such as maintenance). Coordinate and negotiate amendments if needed in liaison with PIs and funders
    Support PI with other tasks as needed.

    Serve as focal point of projects ensuring an efficient exchange of information between CIFOR-ICRAF, the funder and the implementing partners

    Engagement with strategic partners and knowledge sharing partners (i.e. for MOU development and implementation), coordinate flow of information between the project steering committee, project team and CIFOR-ICRAF country offices;
    Ensure that implementing partners, consultants and CIFOR-ICRAF country staff are fully briefed on their responsibilities, deliverables, work plans, budgets, partnerships and project status;
    Coordinate with other research teams, country programs, Resource Mobilization Unit (RMU), Communications team, Financial Services Unit (FSU), Admin/operations and HR where needed to facilitate effective project implementation and address bottlenecks;
    Keep oversight of the entire portfolio of projects in a research theme or country program in support of the theme leader/country coordinator.

    Knowledge Management and Quality Assurance

    Support knowledge exchange between CIFOR-ICRAF technical staff and Implementing partners through acquisition of instruments of knowledge exchange for transmission to funder;
    Ensure the products or service delivered meets CIFOR-ICRAF and funder specified requirements;

    Support CIFOR-ICRAF resource mobilization efforts

    Contribute to fund raising process though networking and providing related data requirements to support scientists and RMU in proposal/concept note development, specifically using the knowledge of other current and past projects;

    Others

    Representation at relevant meetings with visitors/funders, in coordination with RMU/specific scientists/research teams/projects. Participates in and or coordinates field missions, including provision of guidance to external parties (funding or strategic partners, government officials) and drafting mission summaries, etc;
    Support the head of PMU in identifying areas of improvement and implementing improvements of the project management process at CIFOR-ICRAF;
    Support policy development, including review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.

    Education, knowledge and experience

    Master degree in a relevant discipline.
    7 years of relevant professional experience including 2 years Global experience.
    Familiarity with the CGIAR systems, networks and processes is preferred.
    Experience in working in large projects.
    Strong project management skills.
    Excellent written and spoken command of the English language is essential; knowledge of other major international languages will be an advantage.
    Strong computer skills in all the main Microsoft office programs and database management.

    M-Pesa Africa is a separate entity, formed as a joint venture between Vodacom and Safaricom, working within the scaled agile framework (SAFe) you will act as an MPA agile scrum master and subject matter expert on statistical analysis, utilization reporting &various reporting techniques for HR data.
    You will oversee and/or performs the collection and preparation of routine and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards, scorecards, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of human resource programs and initiatives within MPA. You should have a strong analytical background and good project management knowledge as well as an in-depth knowledge of the business and industry.

    Key Role Responsibilities
    HR Reporting & Analytics:

    HR metrics analytics reporting; highlight risks and actionable data to make recommendations for process changes and action plans
    Design and develop HR management reporting and KPI reporting tools linked to business strategy
    Lead detailed analysis of the impact, efficiency & effectiveness of major HR activities as measured by key performance indicators
    Responsible for consolidation of information and data to produce Exco, Ops Review, and Board reports
    Assist during HR Budgeting cycle

    Strategic Workforce and Headcount Management:

    Support in developing a workforce Plan for MPA
    Support in scoping, sourcing, implementation of a workforce management system with Software Engineering
    Advice and work with line managers and HR to design optimal staffing levels and measure productivity
    Maintain a comprehensive, accurate and up to date staff and HC database/dashboard
    Monitor all departmental Exits, Movements, Joiners and Role Changes with the associated attrition rates

    Other HR initiatives:

    Rollout and implementation of MPA employee engagement programs and Health Wellness & Safety (HSW)programs with guidance from relevant Center of excellence teams in Vodacom and Safaricom
    To act as liaison between the HR Lead and other stakeholders both internal and external
    Support with Audits
    Support with review and analysis of job descriptions to feed to MPA job Architecture

    Key performance indicators:

    Reporting tool development
    Effective reporting on HR activities
    Act as a one stop shop for all HR Analytics and reporting Turnaround time on Requests
    Quality of Research and Reports

     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Apply if you have:

    Bachelor’s Degree.
    Higher National Diploma in HRM or CHRP-K is an added advantage
    Experience in a large corporate environment performing moderately complex to very complex employee analysis and research, using qualitative and quantitative measurement and data collection design principles in HR, Finance or Marketing.
    Provide data-driven intelligence to create valuable insights and positively influence decision making
    Create an environment of mutual influence, understanding and empathy
    At least 2-3 years’ experience working directing in or closely collaborating with an HR function is required.
    Agile, Innovative, pragmatic, commercial, and customer-focused approach
    Proven track record of managing programme / project management (including the coordination of multiple internal and external resources)
    Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word and Excel software
    SAFe Agile experience and qualifications is an added advantage

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide direction, guidance, and governance to ensure proper alignment with business initiatives and technology strategy/roadmaps.
    Provide technical leadership on strategic, transformational, highly complex enterprise-wide initiatives focused on the financial services domain.
    Engage with various teams, ranging from business and the immediate development team who need to understand and buy in to the architecture, right through to the extended team of those people who will have an interest in the architecture from a security, database, operations, and maintenance or support point of view.
    Works with business leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology tradeoffs influence strategy and ensuring business intent is understood and effectively carried into development phases.
