    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the Manager, Materials & Cost Control, the position holder will be responsible for management of the Network CAPEX and NOPEX budgets & costs – Budget forecasting and cost evaluations, Management of Network materials and equipment – Materials forecasting, procurement, allocation and utilization, Contract Management – Request for Quotations (RFQs) preparations, contractor evaluations and administration of damages.

    Responsibilities;

    CAPEX Management

    Preparation of detailed CAPEX budget for the network rollout, optimization and other adhoc projects.
    Preparation of investment papers for budget justification to get CAPEX governance approval.
    Preparation of budget requests for accurate budget loading for the Network CAPEX.
    Network Budget Utilization, Monitoring & Reporting.
    Review of quotations from contractors to ensure they conform to scope of works and approved/contractual rates.
    Raise in Oracle ERP all Purchase Requisitions (PR’s) & resultant Purchase Orders (PO’s) for Technology Projects for both equipment and services.
    Ensure timely acceptance/receipting of invoices in Oracle ERP for fully delivered projects and equipment/materials.

    Network Equipment/Materials Management

    Consolidation and harmonization of Network equipment and materials.
    Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure ordered equipment and materials are delivered in good condition and on time for projects implementation.
    Monitoring of material utilization and stock levels to avoid unexpected shortages.
    Liaise with other departments for equipment and materials loaning where unforeseen or unplanned projects come up & follow up to ensure the loaned equipment and materials are replaced/backfilled.
    Liaise with Supply Chain Management to ensure obsolete materials/equipment are sold out to ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space.
    Verification of Material Requests (MR’s) forms to ensure accurate quantities are captured.
    Process Internal Requisitions (IR’s) and Return Internal Requisitions (RIR’s) as per approved MR’s.

    Contract Management

    Preparation of all required Network Projects RFQs including Bills of Quantities.
    Evaluation of RFQs for selection of suitable contractors.
    Continuous performance evaluation of the contracted partners as per agreed service level agreements.
    Analysis of project delays or equipment damages to ensure damages are administered accordingly.
    Analysis of work allocation to contractors to ensure a balance of the same.
    Required Technical and Professional Qualifications:
    University Degree in Building Economics (Quantity Surveying)/Construction management/Civil Engineering or other equivalent qualification.
    3 years post-graduation experience with minimum 2 years’ experience in Telecommunications industry
    Project Management (Agile) Certification.
    Proficiency in Microsoft application programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint et al).
    Registration with relevant Professional Bodies is an added advantage
    Good data analytics, visualization & reporting skills.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Qualifications

    First Degree in Engineering with a strong fibre telecoms content.
    3-year experience in deployment of fibre network  
    Excellent project management skills in handling large projects in telecommunication; Certifications in Project Management will be an added advantage
    Knowledge in GIS mapping tools; Connect Master proficiency will be an added advantage

    Professional / Technical qualifications

    Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, IT or related field.
    Work Experience of at least 3 years with specialized role in a busy telecommunications / Service provider environment –Involved in network planning, automation or support, implementation & commissioning.
    Knowledge of Passive Optical Network architecture, design, infrastructure and operations.
    End to end broad knowledge of 4G and 5G fixed wireless access networks
    Capability to draft and evaluate technical requirement specifications and requests for proposals.
    Capability to design, integrate, test and validate technology features and functionality through lab set-ups and proofs of concept.
    Capability to do network capacity planning, projections and forecasting.
    Capability to initiate and take technical lead and ownership on projects from conceptualization to implementation
    Capability to design future proofed service provider networks for scale & resilience
    Capability to do deep analysis of repeated fixed network problems driving customer demand and recommend optimizations to improve customer experience.
    Experience with designing and implementing networks using common routing protocols including IS-IS, BGP and OSPF as well as layer 2 & layer 3 VPNs
    Experience installing and commissioning metro switches, Optical Line Terminals, Multi-Service Access Nodes, access routers and broadband network gateways.
    Aptitude to understand call flows, do protocol analysis, packet capture and traffic inspection
    Familiarity with aspects of network automation for purposes of service provisioning, data collection and reporting.
    Vendor and internal stakeholder management and collaboration capability
    Keen interest on emerging broadband trends, standards and technologies.
    An overall end-to-end approach to fixed solutions with a focus on network evolution to improve customers’ experience.

    Reporting to the Manager – Financial Solutions Planning, the role holder responsibilities will include financial services system management, capacity planning and technology evolution to attain a service availability of 99.999%.
    Key Responsibilities

    Evaluation of new and existing financial systems infrastructure.
    Planning & design for new Financial solutions.
    Platform capacity planning
    Financial solutions technology evolution to attain 99.999% service availability
    Implementation and integration of new hardware/software.
    Optimization of existing systems.
    Internal Process Improvement in accordance with ITIL and Agile standards.
    Change management

    Qualifications

    Degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Telecommunications; Electronic Engineering; IT (Computing) – Operating systems, databases, system development
    2 years of work experience as an engineer in Financial Technology or a telecommunications environment (vendor or operator).
    Software development skills in Java, python.
    Knowledge in Agile methodology. Certification in Scrum fundamentals is an added advantage.
    Knowledge in Dev Ops
    Experience in mobile money systems.
    Knowledge in cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Huawei or GCP). Certifications will be an added advantage
    Knowledge in container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes etc.)
    Proven Analytical & problem-solving skills.
    Must be able to work without supervision & meet tight deadlines/schedules.
    Good presentation skills required.

    Good public relations, communication & interpersonal.
