    About The Internship Program

    The program will be categorized into two,

    3 months Industrial attachment for ongoing students.

    Eligibility Criteria

    We are looking for University students or recent graduates who meet the criteria indicated below:

    You must be in your final or second last year of your degree program or having graduated with the last 12 months in an accredited institution of higher learning.
    You must be on break from school during the internship period for any of the intakes within the year. For ongoing students, priority will be given to students with industrial attachment as a requirement to completion of the degree program. 
    Must be available for the full period of the internship program (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm)
    You can only select 1 intake in the year for which you will be available for the internship.
    The internship is for a fixed period of 3 or 6 months without extension.

    About the role:

    Responsibilities

    PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT

    Develop high-quality programmatic concept notes and proposals, including drafting problem and context analyses, theories of change, narrative and budget elements, logic models, logical frameworks, risk registers, work plans and other relevant documents.
    Provide advice, technical guidance, and support country teams for the development of high-quality programmatic concept notes and proposals.
    Undertake quality and compliance reviews of concept notes and proposals with view to ensuring conformity with Muslim Hands guidance and templates on program design, theory of change and monitoring.
    Provide advice and technical support for the development of strategy documents, including regional, country and thematic strategies, promoting strong alignment with the organizational strategies and priorities.

    PROGRAM MONITORING:

    Provide advice, technical guidance and support to country team for the development of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) plans, risk registers, annual work plans, data collection protocols and other monitoring tools, in alignment with the organizational results and resources frameworks.
    Provide technical guidance and support to country team, for conducting reflection exercises to enable iterative programming and evidence-based decision-making.
    Provide overall guidance on conducting needs assessment, pre/post case studies and program reporting to MH country staff.

    CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT:

    Assist in strengthening the program development capacity, program team and implementing through the design and delivery of dedicated activities (trainings, webinars, field missions etc.).
    Contribute to annual development plan.

    Required Qualification, Experience and Skills:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Graduate degree in Community Development, Development Studies or another related field is required. Professional and accredited qualification in project management in will be accepted lieu of graduate studies.
    A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in international development with a focus on program development is required. Experience in emergency and humanitarian context is highly preferred.
    Experience with program design catering to program requirements of major donors is preferred.

    SKILLS

    Excellent communication in English, both verbal and written.
    Ability to deal with stressful situations.

    EVALUATION CRITERIA

    Sound knowledge of program proposal design and budgeting process is required.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reporting to the Technical Team Lead – Core Network Regional Support, the individual is responsible for providing 1st line support for the core network elements and systems hosted in the data center and general data center management. This role involves 1st line fault management on core network systems and infrastructure (including MSSs, MGWs, SGSNs, MMEs, GGSNs, PGWs, PCRFs, CSDB, STP, DRA, Cloud Infra, Routers and Switches) as well as other systems hosted in the data center. The individual is expected to handle assigned Incidents, execute planned network changes, manage preventive maintenance tasks for the assigned data centers, support data center project activities to ensure they adhere to required standards, maintain inventory of all data center assets, Monitor and allocate data center resources as per laid down plans and ensure data center resources are optimally utilized.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Fault Management:

    Analyzing the NE logs, carrying out Database Audits, Troubleshooting and solving of arising core network elements faults
    Solving of core network faults assigned through NOC, as well as incidents escalated from customer facing teams
    Providing workable and permanent technical solutions to reduce the downtime and repeat core network failures.
    Ensuring incidences are resolved or escalated to the next level as per SLA.
    Carrying out on site diagnosis and troubleshooting for all systems in the data center.

     Preventive maintenance:

    Schedule and manage Preventive Maintenance tasks as per laid down standards.
    Track and monitor Network and Service KPIs to ensure delivery as per SLAs.
    Continuously improve PM tools and methods to meet required standards.
    Track performance of data center Managed Services Providers.

    Change Management and Projects:

    Making configuration changes on Network elements S/W upgrades.

    Overview

    The role is to ensure that donor budgets and reports are prepared, reviewed, and submitted on timely basis ensuring compliance with relevant donor rules and regulations.
    Regular communication with administrators/budget holders on their budgets versus expenditure.

    Summary of responsibilities
    Restricted Grants Monitoring:

    Assist in budget and expenditure monitoring for all restricted grants for the assigned units, regions, and Themes.
    Be a key lead player and advisor in grants accounting and management to ensure proper coding and posting of expenses in the system as well as full compliance with the donor and CIFOR-ICRAF requirements.
    Regularly review and analyze grant expenses and advise the stakeholders on expenditure trends and areas with over or under expenditure.
    Assist in developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk and maintain internal financial control safeguards/mechanisms on restricted grants activities.

    Restricted Grants Reporting and Compliance:

    Prepare and submit all units/themes donor financial reports on timely basis and ensure that the reports comply with all donor requirements.
    Assist in the review of Donor Financial Reports from the regional offices ensuring that they have been done as per the donor and ICRAF requirements before presentation for internal ICRAF approval.
    Ensure all the expenses reported have been reviewed and approved by the project holder and project managers before sharing for approval.
    Preparation of donor invoices for funds request as well as other invoices as may be requested from time to time.
    Ensure adjustments are done on a timely manner and any other issue affecting the report has been addressed.
    Ensure funds follow up from donors to ensure Centre’s cash flow is not affected.
    Coordinate project audits as per the donor agreement; provide all support documents and clarifications that are raised by the auditors.

    Partners Financial Management Monitoring:

    Follow up on partner financial monitoring for the restricted grants in the regions/units.
    Assist in the financial management capability assessment of partners.
    Review partner sub-agreements to ensure they are in line with donor and CIFOR-ICRAF policy.
    Follow up on partner financial reports, review, and post expenses in the system.
    Prepare monthly ageing of partners for the units responsible for and follow up on overdue liquidations Follow up on partner financial statement, invoices, and share this for payment processing.
    Restricted Grants Budget review.
    Follow up on budget revision and extensions for on-going restricted grants with the Project management team and ensure the revised budget has been posted on My-Tree system.

    Internal Stakeholders Reporting:

    Prepare project performance reports including the funding status and burn rates and share with the project managers.
    Ensure continual communication with project staff on matters related to partners.

    Project and Grants Audits:

    Plan and coordinate audits for restricted grants as per the donor agreements for all assigned unit projects.
    Ensure that the audit reports are shared with the donor.
    Ensure audit recommendations are followed up and implemented.

    Internal &External Audits:

    Assist in providing partner and Account receivable schedules.
    Assist in providing support documents as per the audit sample and following on partner confirmations.

    Donor, Partner agreements and proposal review:

    Review donor agreements financial requirement and ensure the budget is fully costed, the agreement has clear reporting timelines and check if an audit is required.
    Review partner agreements and ensure the reporting timelines are clear and in line with the donor agreement, if the partner has an administrative cost and the end dates are before the grant end dates.

    Internal Control System:

    Adhere to internal control systems that will ensure that the centre attains its objectives, produce accurate and reliable data for decision making, ensure compliance to policies and laws of host countries and safeguard the center assets.
    Identify and assess changes that could significantly impact the system of internal control in the center.
    Evaluate and communicate internal control deficiencies in a timely manner to supervisor.
    Prepare and analyze financial data for budget estimates provided by the various units and themes for the annual financial planning (POWB).
    Monitor budget expenditures for the units at the HQ, the regions and country offices.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. CPA(K).
    7 years’ experience in accounting, 3 of which should be in grants management.
    Exposure to an ERP
    Excellent analytical skills.
    Experience in an NGO or international organization environment.

    Ability to work and communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of individuals within a broad range of cultural environments.
    Proficiency in database applications and MS office suite and Unit4 Business World (Aggresso).

    Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    Strong self-starter with initiative to identify opportunities and take appropriate action.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s Degree and relevant local or international HR Certification;
    Over 5 years of experience in Talent Acquisition in an international organization;
    Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS);
    Ability to influence senior local and global leaders through exceptional communication, strategic alignment and subject matter authority knowledge on market data and standard methodologies;
    Experience in coaching staff and line managers on best recruitment and selection principles / practices and interviewing skills;
    Experience in optimizing processes and ways of working to create a positive employee experience;
    Agile, innovative, pragmatic, commercial, and customer-focused approach;
    Applicable knowledge of and exposure to relevant employment legislation such as Data Protection etc;
    International experience and multicultural sensitivity.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reporting to the Data Analytics Business Partner – Customer Experience, the position holder is responsible for data mining, analysis, visualization, and presentation to drive smart and relevant insights for Contact Center, Retail Experience and Digital Channels Tribe.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Generate accurate reports as per set timelines.
    Provide analysis of performance and generate useful insights to drive decision making.
    Provide and manage efficient feedback mechanisms from users of reports and available MIS Platforms
    Drive the automation of daily routine reports in section.
    Sit in Projects to ensure Experience reporting requirements are met before go-live of new Systems, products, processes & services.
    Follow up on faster resolution of downtimes affecting Experience Reporting and overall Customer Experience
    Interrogate data to confirm accuracy and completeness from the various data source.
    Drive efficiency in reporting by periodically improving on data retrieval and storage.
    Ensure adherence to data governance and privacy regulatory requirement.
    Liaison with the rest of business to get the necessary data for analytical purposes.
    Run projects geared towards innovating overall experience reporting sphere.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Skills and Core Competencies:

    Strong SQL skills
    Experience creating visualizations with tools such as Power BI, Qlik , Tableau, Kibana, Splunk etc.
    Knowledge of any programming language e.g., Python, R and Java
    Familiarity with statistical tests and tools including an understanding of mean, median, variance, standard deviation, correlation, regression, and hypothesis testing.
    Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization
    Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

    Education and Experience:

    A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), from a recognized university in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or any other quantitative field
    2 or more years of experience mining data as a data analyst
