    Requirements

    Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related disciplines;
    Relevant work experience of 10 years, with not less than 5 years in a management role for ME&L;
    Broad understanding of gender considerations in agriculture, social and policy-related issues, and opportunities for Africa’s agricultural development.

    Field Officer

    The Field Officer will be responsible for preparing written materials and progress reports on field activities. S/he will contribute to effective and timely completion of project activities, delivery of quality outputs and achievement of outcomes with maximum impact for beneficiaries. S/he will work closely with the Rangelands Restoration Specialist, Community Mobilizer and MEAL Monitor. S/he will liaise between Acted and implementing partners as well as the key government departments.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Programming

    Project Planning

    Support the identification and planning of technical skills and requirements to implement the project as per relevant standards;
    Provide support in planning and design of land degradation neutrality sustainable land management (SLM)
    Prepare work plan and time schedules for implementing the project activities
    Prepare relevant Bills of Quantities for project interventions;
    Support the identification and planning of technical skills and requirements to implement the project as per relevant standards;

    Project Implementation and Follow-up

    Training of farmers on climate smart agriculture and post-harvest handling
    Support in preparation of technical layouts, technical designs and Bills of Quantities
    Support in the establishment and training of SHG groups on basic financial management skills, literacy and numeracy classes
    Ensure project activities are executed on time, meeting the target and within the budget, using effective M&E systems to reach desired impacts;
    Support in organising dialogue on resource sharing agreements and arrange exchange visits.
    Assist the Rangelands Restoration Specialist and Project Manager to trouble-shoot any unforeseen challenges during the project implementation;
    Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Project Manager and other team members;

    Documenting and Compliance

    Keep record of all project activity documents, in particular beneficiary list, designs, Bills of Quantities, activity reports, progress reports, photo updates, attendance sheets, etc.;
    Help maintaining a beneficiary master database/tracker containing all beneficiary registration and baseline information as well as the project activities from which the beneficiaries benefitted ensure the data is protected from misuse in line with Acted’s data protection policy;
    Ensure staff awareness of, and respect of, Acted’s Code of Conduct, FLATS procedures and donor requirements.

    Beneficiary Engagement and Accountability

    Adhere to Acted’s Code of Conduct and treat all beneficiaries with respect and without any distinction or discrimination based on nationality, race, ethnicity, tribe, gender, religious beliefs, political opinion, health status or disability;
    Select the beneficiaries benefitting from project activities;
    Communicate Acted’s Complaints and Response Mechanism target communities and participate in solving complaints related to the project in coordination with the MEAL.

    Internal Coordination

    Participate in project planning meetings with the project team.

    External Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

    Undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult and involve beneficiaries, key informants, actors, partners and stakeholders in all stages of project design and implementation;

    Partner Management

    Participate in review meetings with partners, with particular attention given to the relationship aspects of partnership collaboration, and ensure that any issues or disputes are resolved in a timely manner.

    Security

    Familiarize with Security policies, SOPs and they follow them accordingly.

    Human Resource

    Follow-up the work plans and day-to-day activities of the community mobilizer;
    Manage the community mobilizer in cooperation with the Project Manager;
    Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics among staff.

    Logistics

    Support in the development of procurement plans;
    Send accurate and precise order forms and bills of quantities in a timely manner;
    Support in the preparation of technical layouts, technical designs and Bills of Quantities
    Support in ensuring a proper management and use of the project assets and stocks;
    Plan project team movements based on available fleet and applicable policies

    Finance

    Forecast monthly cash requirements for project activities and submit to the Project Manager.

    Quality Control

    Assess the project activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources;
    Undertake regular field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitor the progress of project activities;
    Assists with monitoring the project activities implemented by partners (if any) in the field;
    Document lessons learned and best practices and share them with the Project Manager so they can be reflected in project planning and decision making.

    Grant Management

    Ensure adherence to donor procedures by project staff;
    Support the Project Manager in the preparation of progress and final reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of technical information for project activities
    Participate in communication activities through the regular collection of pictures and stories related to project activities;
    Contribute to new proposal development processes through the provision of expert programmatic advice related to contextual knowledge.

    Protection mainstreaming

    Promoting of and adhering to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse policy and guidelines (for site residents, Acted staff, partner agencies, casual labours etc).

    Other

    Offer technical support and inputs to other projects in similar sectors;
    Any other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

    Qualifications/Skills Required

    Bachelor’s Degree in Range management, Livestock, Food Security and/or Livelihoods Programming or related development field
    At least 3 years work experience in a relevant programming preferably with an INGO.
    Experience in implementing projects in areas that are prone to resource-based conflicts is a plus
    Demonstrated commitment to respect, equity, diversity and inclusion including gender equality.
    Ability to take initiatives, team player who is able to work with minimum supervision
    Must have outstanding oral and written communications

    About the Role

    Provide a stable and reliable M-Pesa service according to agreed service levels to the business and customers, through a transparent and simple Operating Model

    Support communications & engagement of people across the clusters. Focus on the business areas and help people to recognise their part in driving for performance. Ensure communication processes are working effectively within the business area.
    Proactively manage the HR Business Partner supplier interfaces (Centres of Expertise, HR Operations etc.) to ensure seamless customer experience for Leaders, People Managers and Employees.

    Qualifications

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    At least ten (10) to fifteen (15) years’ knowledge and experience in a relevant field.
    Relevant Business or HR Undergraduate Degree or relevant field along with professional qualifications, or equivalent qualification(s) from a recognized institution of higher learning. 
    Member in good standing of a recognized professional body. 
    MBA or relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage. 
    Demonstrate competence in more than 3 HR technical functions
    Significant depth in HR practice areas; organizational effectiveness & change, capability development, talent management, employee relations & reward
    Astute leadership skills: leading others and peers with ability to work in a matrix environment.

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Chief Channels Officer  the role holder will manage end to end the Terminals Strategy and execution including strategic alignment between the Consumer and Enterprise Business Units, devices portfolio management, commercial and partner management (OEM & OTT). He/she is also responsible for management of the Consumer Fixed Business across the country.

    Key Responsibilities

    Terminals strategy: 

    Lead terminals strategy leveraging the Safaricom product catalogue and strategic assets. 
    Ensure company market requirements are reflected into the planning of the Vodacom/Vodafone group global product strategy. 
    Develop relevant strategic group initiatives are reflected in local strategic plans. Creating an integrated terminals 
    Lead the terminals planning processes, delivering on time and to a high quality

    New Growth Areas (Fixed)

    Develop, implement, and oversee overarching sales and business development strategy, sales processes, and structure for FFTX
    Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
    Ensure robust pricing structure in conjunction with Fixed tribe  in line with business value analysis
    Ensure  build up, maintenance and management of a sustainable sales pipeline in order to reach the set revenue targets set for the company in the annual budget.

    Business improvement: 

    Transform the Terminals and Fixed Business end to end. Integration of the full value chain, leading Kenya’s integration into the global strategy. Specific improvement plans regarding terminals Supply & Demand Process, In-stores After Sales Services, Logistics & Buy Back. Portfolio & Commercial alignment to deliver scale 

    Marketing plan: 

    Lead Co-creation of terminals integrated marketing plan for Safaricom across all functional areas and ‘through-the-line’ (i.e. single plan integrating prepay/postpay/VAS propositions, with terminals, with ATL, BTL and base marketing, and sales focus) in collaboration with CBU Data Tribe Lead; Keep this ‘live’ throughout the year, identifying gaps and potential conflicts. 
    Review priorities based on company’s strategic direction, resource allocation and return. 

    Partner Management: 

    Co-lead local negotiations with terminals, accessories and after sales/Logistics services suppliers, ensure integration, alignment and continuity with VPC negotiations in a way that will generate more benefits and profits for the company. 
    Supports special projects when terminals are key enabler to deliver project’s goals. Lead differentiation strategy by reaching better deals regarding Time to Market Advantage, Prices, Product Availability and Inventory management 

    Device Financing:

    Lead the device financing strategy and implementation in collaboration with the CBU, EBU and Finance Divisions to support the 4G penetration agenda for the company and improve NPS.

    Customers, suppliers and third parties

    Strong Collaboration with OEM’s, OTT and Vodacom Terminals Group Marketing and Procurement as well as with Regional Operations regarding all terminals business aspects (Marketing, Supply Chain, After Sales) and CBU, EBU, Finance, HR, Corporate Affairs, Legal, Technology and Productivity – Finance.

    Team Management

    Managing and offering leadership to the Terminals function team 

    Qualifications

    5+ senior experience in marketing/commercial/strategy experience. 
    Detailed knowledge of mobile telecoms and related industries, as well as general strategy issues and problem solving approaches
    Specific knowledge of mobile device value chain and business management in an operational context with device financing an added advantage
    Strong knowledge and experience of Safaricom/Telco operating model or equivalent similar global corporate operation  
    Ability to operate successfully in dynamic, uncertain and challenging environments, and to manage effectively in a matrix organisation
    Creativity in problem solving, with a positive ‘can do’ approach

    Five or more years of executive leadership roles, preferably in an international research or development organization setting.
    Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve, diplomacy and personal integrity
    Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
    Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
    Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
