    JOB OBJECTIVE
    The job holder is responsible for managing the supply chain processes at KCA University through sourcing for goods and services, contracting and issuing orders for goods and services based upon quality, quantity, service and delivery requirements.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Ensure that procurement procedures, regulations and all applicable laws are properly implemented
    Advise the University Management on policy and regulatory matters relating to the procurement and management of supplies
    Prepare and issue procedural manuals, procurement procedures and manage University’s goods, works and services.
    Consolidate procurement plans and liaise with the Departments to ensure the requests have clear specifications.
    Coordinate the development of the University’s annual procurement and asset disposal plans to ensure they are aligned with the budget and strategic needs of the University
    Implement the University’s annual procurement and disposal plans, budget preparation and performance management in the supplies management function
    Prepare and implement the Departmental work plans and evaluate their performance to achieve its targets.
    Provide professional advice and respond to all procurement-related matters to maintain positive relationships with suppliers and service providers.
    Assess and mitigate the Supply Chain strategic and operational risks by ensuring appropriate internal controls are put in place in the University.
    Coordinate the preparation, publishing and distribution of procurement and disposal opportunities.
    Coordinate and participate in the adoption of e-procurement strategies in the University’s supply chain processes.
    Coordinate approval of all requisitions in the system by ensuring the items requested are captured in the University approved annual procurement and asset disposal plan

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Master’s degree in the field of supply chain management, procurement or a related field from an accredited/recognized University
    Master’s degree in any field AND Certified Procurement and Supply Professional Part IV (CPSP-K) or equivalent from a recognized institution
    Membership of a relevant professional association in good standing
    Six (6) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be in a supervisory position
    OR Three 3 years’ work experience as a Senior Supply Chain Management Officer in the University.
    Must demonstrate outstanding administrative/managerial capability in organization and management

    OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    Demonstrate understanding of the Public Procurement & Disposal Act and other procurement regulations
    Ability to build the capacity of procurement committees/teams in university procurement regulations
    Ability to prepare tender templates for supply of services and goods
    Familiarity with contract laws
    Prior experience guiding a unit / other doing similar work.
    Accounting background will be an added advantage
    Ability to supervise a team and deliver well under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    Should have at least 7 years’ experience in general banking, 4 of which of which should be in institutional banking and/or liabilities management.
    Should have thorough knowledge and understanding of the banking industry.

    The Supply Chain Manager will plan, manage, and provide technical and operational oversight of supply chain activities – including engaging partners, sanitation and MHM enterprises and work with private sector actors to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of sanitation and MHM goods to Western Region. The Supply Chain Manager’s knowledge and experience will allow them to work closely with the private sector actors to anticipate and manage supply chain needs and challenges and introduce improvement solutions, using the principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability. He/she will also be responsible for providing business skills development to selected enterprises with support from the Business Development Team.
    The Manager will futher contribute to developing metrics and establish a monitoring and evaluation framework for tracking project progress, specifically tracking supply chain development among private sector partners and enterprises in Western Kenya. They will oversee market landscaping throughout the project to identify barriers and opportunities in the existing sanitation supply chain and provide recommendations that could strengthen the supply of market-based sanitation products and services to low-income consumers, including guidance on commercialization, distribution, production, and sales. The Manager engages with relevant government/local partners to effectively foster coordination and partnerships with private sector manufacturing and distribution partners/stakeholders and ensure the institutionalization of capacity development for supply chain actors.

    What are we looking for?

    Master’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics or Finance or a related field with six (6) years of demonstrated experience of which four (4) are at the managerial level;
    Or Bachelor’s degree Management, Business Administration, Economics or Finance or a related field with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience of which four (4) are at the managerial level
    Demonstrated experience in relevant areas such as private sector engagement, delivery of water and sanitation services, supply chain strengthening, social entrepreneurship

    Experience with suppliers and purchasing in the sanitation, hardware, or construction industry

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Must have a Ph.D in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human capital Management or its equivalent from an accredited/recognized University.

    Three (3) years relevant experience at a level equivalent to a Deputy Registrar OR Nine (9) years work experience from a comparable Institution.

    Oversee maintenance of supporting documents for a reliable and easy-to-follow audit trail.
    Review, plan, design, develop, coordinate and implement accounting services and systems in the University.
    Ensure timely submission of the University financial statements and reports.
    Formulate and implement the Financial strategies that will support the implementation of the overall University strategic plan.
    Participate in developing new business, identifying new funding opportunities, drafting prospective budgets, and determining the cost-effectiveness of prospective funding opportunities.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Master’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting Option), Accounting, Finance or its equivalent from a recognized University.
    Have CPA (K) qualification.
    Member of ICPAK and in good standing.

    Provide Library administrative, clerical and technical support, including information and reference service, reader’s advisory, cataloguing, circulation services, security of library resources and patrons and facilitate access to library for authorized users only
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assist the Librarian in managing resources such as books, journals, website information and users enquires
    Circulation of Library resources to authorized library users as well as maintaining circulation files, records and statistics.
    Delivering information and learning skills courses for students and staff.
    Ensure only authorized items leave the library (checking to ensure that overdue items/books do not go out of the library
    Ensure unauthorized items such as big bags, food stuffs are not brought into the library
    Ensure the library surrounding (environment) is conducive for learning i.e. free from noise, loud music
    Inform the Head of Library Services in cases of emergency, irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences
    Assist in enforcement of library regulations
    Assist in the movement of library books and other library resources across floors or as directed by the Head of Library Services
    Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science or; Diploma in Library and Information Science with 2 years’ relevant experience
    Knowledge of Library operations.
    Basic knowledge in security matters in Library
    ICT skills
    People skills.
