    Conduct audit kick offs and exit conferences to discuss audit observations

    Reports internal audit findings to appropriate management based on the results of regularly scheduled audits, non-scheduled audits, and at any time when issues need to be addressed by management
    Conducts follow-up reviews of financial, operational, or regulatory compliance deficiencies noted during audits
    May assist with investigations of irregularities discovered by internal and external auditor reviews

    Assists with the development and completion of audit plans, including memos, letters, and reports that reflect audit activities and findings
    Coordinate and facilitate document and meeting requests in support of audit-related activities

    Required Qualifications

    Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience of financial analysis in an internal audit role
    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
    CIA or CPA preferred
    Audit knowledge and skills in finance/accounting and information system operations
    Experience in a non-profit/business environment in the developing world or familiarity with the non-profit sector is strongly preferred
    Ability to travel 25-35%

    Provide administrative functions to ensuring EGPAF’s finance procedures and policies are adhered to. Implement internal controls as required to confirm to donor rules and regulations. The Field Accountant shall work towards ensuring internal and external deadlines are met. The incumbent shall also collaborate with program teams to ensure proper documentations are being used for all proposed payments. Prepare reports as required by the country office and timely share them. Key deliverables of this role being processing payments, entering the same in the finance system.
    Job Responsibilities

    Accounts Payables

    Timely processing of staff advances for travel and activities;
    Timely processing of activities participant’s mobile payments;
    Processing of supplier invoices within agreed timelines;
    Receiving of supplier invoices in Verian;
    Reconciliation of supplier statements;
    Ensures that all hard copy vouchers are duly authorized before payment and filing;

    Duties
    Under the overall guidance of the Team Leader, AGNES, the Intern is expected to:

    Provide technical and administrative support in organizing and implementation of AGNES activities, in particular: i) support to AGN in the climate change negotiations; ii) support to African countries to develop mid century long term low carbon climate resilient development strategies; iii) development and updating of nationally determined contributions (NDCs); iv) IPCC work; and v) Readiness to access climate finance among others;
    Carry out desk research and expert consultations on identified themes (including agriculture, food and water security, gender and climate change etc) in support of AGNES’s technical support in forging a common African position in the climate change negotiations;
    Support coordination of the Research Platform on Assessing Global Adaptation Progress (GAP);
    Review and synthesize documents for use by various target groups including AGNES, the AGN and policy makers;
    Support the development and dissemination of knowledge products;
    Work with African scientists to increase their participation in IPCC related activities;
    Put in place online workspace with relevant documents for AGNES team, including organization of meetings, workshops, seminars, webinars and other similar activities;
    Prepare meeting reports, meeting minutes, circulate summaries and follow up on action points;

    Education
    Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Master’s/Ph.D Programme in environment and natural resources, agriculture, economics, law, business administration and social sciences or a related discipline.
