    Name of the Project: Action to Relaunch Agriculture and Branding Internationalization of Kenya Coffee, in and out of Africa
    Objective of the position:
    CEFA is implementing a 3 years project funded by AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) on the coffee supply chain to support quality improvement, capacity and management of cooperatives as well as marketing of the final product. We thus require a project accountant to support CEFA in financial and reporting throughout the life of the ARABIKA project.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    The Project Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day cash management, transaction recording, and accounting system updating on a daily basis, and for ensuring correctness of support documentation for the ARABIKA project. He/she will report to the Program Administrator (PA) and collaborate with the Project Manager (PM) for all financial and accounting-related activities.
    Detailed Responsibilities:
    – Record all transactions into the accounting system while ensuring proper coding as assigned and exhaustive description of all the expenses;

    Ensure that monthly accounting documents from the field locations are received in Nairobi within the set date of each month, and are verified, recorded and properly filed;
    Prepare and process all project related financial transactions into CEFA’s Accounting System (such as vouchers, requisitions, etc.);
    Support the PA and PM in maintaining monthly bank and cash reconciliations and ensuring the trial balances are reconciled every month;
    Comply with CEFA financial system and help staff to understand and work with them as needed;
    Provide support in all other financial matters in collaboration with the PA and PM;
    Support the PM to manage and account for day-to-day cash inflows and outflows ensuring proper systems and procedures;
    Preparation of payrolls and statutory deductions, in line with CEFA internal policies and local norms and legislations;
    Management and disbursement of petty cash, in line with CEFA’s internal policies and procedures and in coordination with the PA and with the PM;
    Ensure operations adhere to CEFA’s and the donor’s internal policies and regulations;
    Maintain an up to date Inventory register for the project and ensure all assets are properly tagged.
    Ensure timely payment of all statutory taxes to the relevant national authority/institution;
    Ensure that all administrative and financial records are properly kept and filed based on;
    Ensure monthly PIT/withholding remittance to the Authority within the set time frame at all times;
    Facilitate all audit processes availing documents as needed;
    When needed, handle logistical requests for the project;

    Key Qualifications and Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting or Economics;
    Minimum of two years of work experience as an Accountant with international NGOs;
    Honest and of high integrity;
    Familiarity with MS Words, MS Excel required, Outlook. Familiarity with computerized Accounting packages will be a definite added advantage
    Accurate and precise work style;
    Ability to use own initiative and to work with minimal supervision.

    About the Opportunity
    The Cluster Director will provide strategic guidance to the CEOs of the West and Central Africa cluster of subsidiary microfinance companies of BIHBV, to support the growth and implementation of microfinance in these countries (currently Sierra Leone, Liberia and Rwanda). S/he will support CEOs in planning, coordinating, guiding and provide the necessary technical support to the CEOs to achieve the company specific goals in line with BIHBV’s Growth for Impact Strategy.     The key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    Provide guidance and leadership to the West and Central African cluster of the BRAC International Microfinance portfolio in line with the mission and vision of BRAC.
    Support the CEOs to set objectives with achievable action plans to make the Microfinance company a sustainable and efficient operation in line with the Growth for Impact Strategy and each entity’s five-year business plan.
    Support the CEOs in matters related to governance for each of the subsidiary companies.
    Support the Director, Operations BIHBV in the expansion activities and strategic transformations in West and Central Africa. From new country scoping to company set-up.

    Provide advice and information to the Executive Secretary, and in his absence, to the Executive Director of UNEP, to Governments, organizations and individuals, on policies, the implementation and the status of the protection of the ozone layer;
    Monitor the implementation of the Convention and the Protocol and the status of compliance of the Parties, through the information and data submitted by the Parties regarding their actions to phase-out Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODSs); ensure that the information and data submitted meet the provisions of the Convention, the Protocol and their decisions; and analyze the impact of the actions reported by the Parties on the protection of the Ozone Layer;
    Promote the Vienna Convention, the Montreal Protocol and the awareness of the issue of protecting the ozone layer in the Media and on the Internet;
    Provide advice to Governments, UNEP and other UN Organizations, Non-Government Organizations and interested individuals on the implementation of the provisions of the Vienna Convention, the Montreal Protocol and on the decisions of the meetings of the Parties and their bodies, under the direction of the Executive Secretary;
    Facilitate as necessary the Assessment Process of the Ozone Layer, consisting of Panels on Scientific Assessment (SAP), Environmental Effects Assessment (EEAP) and Technology and Economic Assessment (TEAP), as well as the six Technical Options Committees (TOC) of the TEAP;
    Liaise and closely coordinate with the Multilateral Fund Secretariat and the Implementing Agencies of the Fund on issues regarding compliance of Parties from developing countries (Article 5 Parties);
    Perform the duties of the Executive Secretary in her absence.

    Work Experience
    At minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible work experience in environmental protection, of which, at least ten (10) years should have been spent in implementing multilateral environmental agreements is required.
    Work experience with ozone layer protection, climate change or other atmosphere related issues is required. Extensive experience and proven record in managing staff and resources of the office is desirable
    Languages
    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations language is an added advantage.

    Job Outline

    The purpose of this role is to identify, shape and close new China Outbound business for GardaWorld across the Africa and Middle East region and in so doing expand the number of strategic relationships in client organisations and enable subsequent organic growth from within Chinese accounts.     Include

    The incumbent will develop a professional network across the Africa region and leverage this network to develop new business with new Chinese clients and expanded business with existing clients – both new territories and new services. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of strategic sales in Africa in collaboration with P & L holders, other sales personnel and CRMs.

    Develop and grow new and existing commercial relationships within major Chinese client organisations in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Agriculture, Medical Services & Products, Defense and Construction & Engineering, Transportation, Services.
    Support the business development cycle through active research to identify and create new commercial opportunities and take these opportunities through the sales cycle to closure.

    Define and implement major opportunity capture plans to maximise the probability of winning

    Main purpose

    Education
    Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business and or public administration, finance, accounting, or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    Work Experience

    A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, administration, budget, business administration or related area is required.
    Experience with SAP (Umoja) or similar Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) is desirable.
    Experience within the UN system or other international or public sector organization is desirable.

    Languages
    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

    NOTE: ‘Fluency’ equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write and understand) and ‘Knowledge of’ equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.

    The Role
    The Campaigner will primarily support the roll-out of the 2021 CREST Priorities – People’s Vaccines and Climate Justice. Reporting to the Campaign Manager, the campaigner will also help facilitate the campaigning capacity development, learning and knowledge sharing across the federation. Specifically,

    Supports development of, coordinates, manages and delivers Climate Justice and People’s Vaccines actions, events and mobilisation activities, in order to meet the campaigns’ agreed objectives and targets. Working with ActionAid member countries and other Global Secretariat stakeholders, ensure effective ownership of these activities across the ActionAid Federation. 
    Support AAI countries with their campaign work especially for jointly coordinated activities for the CREST Priorities and to ensure information about campaign actions nationally and globally are effectively transmitted across the federation to enhance coordination and shared learning.  
    Ensure that public and supporter campaigning and communications strategies for the campaign can reach and engage large numbers of potential supporters. Devise and produce actions for supporters and the wider public to contribute to campaign objectives. Produce or manage the production of print and web communication materials for the campaign and for regional or international events organised for the campaign. 
    Playing a coordinating role internally to ensure all of the structures of ActionAid are contributing. With the Campaign Manager, identify risks that may arise from the CREST pushes and develop plans with GS and country colleagues to address and manage them. Liaise with heads of CREST priorities and their teams, to develop clear political influencing plans and messaging linked to the campaign strategy and annual plan. Ensure online mobilisation approaches are effectively incorporated into national strategies and plans
    Ensure a strong knowledge and learning campaigns culture in the Federation. Ensure there are clear supporter targets accompanying all campaign pushes that have been agreed by all countries involved in the push. Ensure there are clear plans and assigned responsibilities for the effective monitoring and reporting of indicators for pushes; contribute to monitoring of agreed campaign indicators. Maintain a high level of up to date knowledge of national activities, plans and challenges for the campaign and ensure information is circulated to relevant stakeholders within the federation.

    Who we’re looking for

    A competent indivudual with a relevant Bachelors or Master’s degree with substantial experience in locally and nationally rooted campaigning, particularly involving people living in poverty and their organisations- building power from below.
    Sh/e will need to be organised and responsive with excellent written/verbal skills.
