    Responsibilities

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
    In close consultation with the Evaluation Manager, the Evaluation Consultant will be responsible for the overall management of the Evaluation and timely provision of its outputs, data collection and analysis and report-writing. More specifically:
    Inception phase of the Evaluation, including:

    preliminary desk review and introductory interviews with project staff; 
    draft the reconstructed Theory of Change of the project; 
    prepare the evaluation framework;
    develop the desk review and interview protocols; 
    draft the survey protocols (if relevant); 
    develop and present criteria for country and/or site selection for the evaluation mission;
    plan the evaluation schedule;
    prepare the Inception Report, incorporating comments until approved by the Evaluation Manager

    Data collection and analysis phase of the Evaluation, including: 

    conduct further desk review and virtual in-depth interviews with project implementing and executing agencies, project partners and project stakeholders; 
    regularly report back to the Evaluation Manager on progress and inform of any possible problems or issues encountered and;
    keep the Project Manager informed of the evaluation progress. 

    Reporting phase, including: 

    draft the Main Evaluation Report, ensuring that the evaluation report is complete, coherent and consistent with the Evaluation Manager guidelines both in substance and style;
    liaise with the Evaluation Manager on comments received and finalize the Main Evaluation Report, ensuring that comments are taken into account until approved by the Evaluation Manager
    prepare a Response to Comments annex for the main report, listing those comments not accepted by the Evaluation Consultant and indicating the reason for the rejection; and
    (where agreed with the Evaluation Manager) prepare an Evaluation Brief (2-page summary of the evaluand and the key evaluation findings and lessons)

    Managing relations, including:

    maintain a positive relationship with evaluation stakeholders, ensuring that the evaluation process is as participatory as possible but at the same time maintains its independence;
    communicate in a timely manner with the Evaluation Manager on any issues requiring its attention and intervention.
    The Evaluation Consultant shall have had no prior involvement in the formulation or implementation of the project and will be independent from the participating institutions. The consultant will sign the Evaluation Consultant Code of Conduct Agreement Form.
    The Evaluation Consultant will be selected and recruited by the UNEP Evaluation Office through an individual consultancy contract.
    Comprehensive terms of reference will be shared with the consultant separately.

    Qualifications/special skills

    A university degree in environmental sciences, international development or other relevant political or social sciences area is required and an advanced degree in the same areas is desirable.
    A minimum of 7 years of technical / evaluation experience is required, preferably including evaluating large, regional or global programmes and using a Theory of Change approach;
    A good/broad understanding of sustainable land management is required and a focus on rangelands and drylands would be an advantage.
    Country experience of Jordan and Egypt is desirable.

Using a depth of technical experience and commercial acumen, the role will be hands on, helping to develop insightful customized solutions, whilst achieving sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Accountable for the understanding of the customer’s objectives and growth strategies
    Identifies relevant insights/needs required to achieve value creation for Kerry and the customer
    Account planning for the selected customers with strong proof points and overall validation from the customer
    Leading the customer by leveraging and utilizing cross functional resources and solutions to continually drive the customer experience and business growth needs
    Annual financial budget and forecasts aligned to organizational performance measures and KPI’s
    Opportunity pipeline management aligned to the business strategies and key financial metrics (ie GM%, Profitability, Portfolio Mix)
    Commercial pricing and contract management to protect business risk and deliver sustainable margins
    Customer data management within Kerry internal systems (e.g SFDC)
    Demand forecasting ownership and updates aligned to continuous improvement metrics
    Sharing commercial and customer insights as it relates to business/EUM strategy development and refinement
    Provides ongoing feedback on End-Use Market strategy, to validate learnings and drive overall business priorities and opportunities
    Provides feedback to relevant departments within the organization, to ensure we continuously improve our customer service levels, customer enablement and customer engagement
    Provides competitor, market insights and intelligence to inform business terms and service level enhancements
    Ongoing review of our collections/product portfolio suitability for customer needs
    Industry networking and partnership relations that brand Kerry, aligned to our Purpose and builds long term strategic growth pillars

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related field – Food Technology/science is a plus with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in B2B flavours/ ingredients Account Management within East Africa
    Experience in international environments and the process industry is desirable
    Strong communication skills in English (oral and written) and good organizational skills is required
    Strong skill set in relationship building with a target driven approach
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.

    This position is located in the Digital Strategy Section in the Communications Division. The incumbent will be under the direct supervision of the Head of News & Media.
    Under the direct supervision of the Head of News & Media, the consultant will:

    Strategy implementation: Ensure timely implementation of activities related to the media strategy to publicize priority issues and/or major events related to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and UNEP’s work on climate action, to include drafting information strategies, coordinating efforts, monitoring and reporting on progress, taking appropriate follow-up actions, and analyzing the outcome; Ensure effective design and delivery of communication products; Undertake activities to promote media coverage (e.g. press conferences, interviews, press seminars and other special activities) of priority issues and/or major events, to include development of a media strategy and action plan, initiating proactive media outreach efforts.
    Capacity building: Build information networks by interacting with journalists, other media representatives and followers, subscribers, and supporters of media networks; Develop and sustain partnerships with internal and external partners for successful development and execution of UNEP’s news media strategy; Monitor media, analyze information and prepare reports in order to ensure outreach, engagement and growth of media coverage.
    Content creation: Produce and oversee production of media-orientated communication products (editorial writing, news writing, proofing, pitching, placement, etc.). Recommend appropriate information and communication materials for use in media and other communication activities; Participate in selecting the news and media related information transmitted to key constituencies; Maintain and update online media relations contact list/database; Ensure rapid and accurate information dissemination to the media; Act as a News desk Officer for the Unit.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in journalism, communication, public relations or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive work experience in media relations, a digital newsroom, editorial production or journalism, some of which at the international level, is required.
    Experience in the development and execution of an earned media strategy entailing complex research and story innovation is desirable.

    Languages

    English and French are the working knowledge of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French is an advantage.

    The consultant will contribute to:

    Global coordination for the observance of the International Day of Clean Air for blue skies as well as communication on air pollution in general. This includes coordination of various working groups, engagement with existing and new partners; facilitation of participation of and inputs from the regional offices, support from member states and stakeholder groups; as well as the design and preparation of communication campaigns, assets, and activities, including any associated flagship events, and maintenance of digital presence. 
    Production of various programmatic documents in relation to the Day and air pollution in general, including briefs, concept papers, and reports. This also includes the event report based on major highlights, activities, and engagements, including digital and social media activities and engagements across all channels and for all partners.
    Engagement with air pollution/air quality programmatic colleagues and offices across the main emitting sectors to ensure all relevant opportunities for communicating work on air pollution mitigation are undertaken based on latest science and innovations including any relevant updates to the existent air pollution dashboard in line with the aforementioned. This will also include supporting air pollution content and data related coordination as well as documentation and dissemination of best practices and successful case studies. 
    Forging new and maintaining existing partnerships with major stakeholders, including the private sector and civil society with a focus on aligning efforts toward addressing the issue of air pollution and mobilizing resources.  
    Plan and maintain a steady pipeline of content on air pollution and keep content updated on UNEP’s corporate and the Days websites as well as any other campaign pages.
    Public advocacy and communication tasks aimed at air pollution action and improving air quality. 
    Create and contribute to a growing positive discourse by improving knowledge and inspiring action on air pollution.
    Contribute to increasing ambitions among public, private, and policy making circles for accelerated action on air pollution.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, international relations, social sciences or other related field, is required.
    Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public information, communication, programme management or related field is required.
    Prior experience of working with UNEP or a UN organization is desirable.
    Prior experience in public advocacy and communication on air pollution is desirable.

    Languages

    For this assignment,  fluency in oral and written English is required; knowledge of French is an advantage.
