    Job Description
    Supervising the daily logistics activities and providing maintenance to the MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructures, according to MSF standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.
    Accountabilities

    Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSF standards
    Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager’s supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor’s instructions; checking that premises observe security norms and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices
    Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSF standards
    Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision, monitoring of the quality of work and the definition of each person’s task, drawing up their working schedules; organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and attending logistics meetings and accounting for his activities
    Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and Instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks
    Managing and following up orders which includes collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force; providing technical support to the storekeeper, makes local purchases according to MSF supply procedures and ensures reception conditions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment

    MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

    Ensure the proper use monitoring and maintenance of the installations and equipment in the MSF compound according to MSF policies.
    Ensure correct operation of VHF, HF, and satellite phone and project mobile phones.
    Maintain the office IT network of computers, printers, switches, routers and satellite.
    Monitor generator and vehicles fuel stocks; send weekly fuel reports to the line manager and logistic coordination.
    Ensure that the fleet of vehicles meets the needs of the project in terms of size and quality is maintained; propose any necessary changes to the line manager
    Oversee the effective management and regular maintenance of the vehicle fleet and correct completion of the logbook.
    Organise transport daily movements in conjunction with the line manager taking into account the needs of the project and security consideration.
    Ensure the security of persons and goods during transportation.
    Ensure transport CSP is known and followed.
    Update assets inventory of the project on monthly basis or when new equipment is received in the project.
    Manage and supervise the team of drivers, radio operators and log helper.
    Ensure up to date job descriptions, evaluations, duty roosters and leave plans for the staff.
    Ensure routine maintenance of all generators in the project are done after every 250 hours and record on the generator logbook
    Ensure frequent cleaning of the fuel tanks.
    In charge of maintenance of the fuel piping system.
    Ensure generator rooms in hospital and staff compound are kept clean at all times
    Maintenance of the water pumps in the compound and hospital.
    Evaluate training needs identify candidates and take part in on-going training
    Actively participate in meetings and trainings.

    Requirements

    Education: Essential secondary education and formal technical training
    Experience: At least one year in MSF or 2 years in a similar post out of MSF
    Languages: Mission language essential (English); local language desirable (Somali/Kiswahili)
    Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel)

    Main Purpose
    Defining, coordinating and monitoring all the IEC( Information, Education, Communication) Health Promotion activities in the project and promoting MSF services according to MSF principles, protocols and standards in order to increase the knowledge of the target population around their health, the support of preventive activities and the collaboration to improve the services. 
    The selected candidate will be reporting to the Medical Team Leader.
    Accountabilities

    Defining and updating the HP/IEC strategy and related activities through annual project and budget plan (objectives, target population, campaigns, messages, activities, specific actions, etc.).
    Assessing knowledge of the target group on a health risk and analyzing the context (local culture, traditions, habits, health perception) to adapt health activities and support the social mapping (villages, populations, actors), Identifying indicators in order to monitor HP activities results and achievement and using the concrete tools to measure and follow up those activities
    Assessing, developing and adapting IEC/HP materials according to the needs of the project. Ensuring content and format have been pre-tested with target groups in order to ensure the adequacy, relevance, full understanding of the messages. Leading focus-group discussions with target groups in order to ensure the adequacy, relevance, broadcasting and full awareness of the messages, ensuring they are worded in a pedagogic manner
    Liaising with other relevant actors (national and International NGO’s , authorities) also involved in prevention activities, analyzing interventions and building cooperative relationships and advocacy, in order to enhance the influence of the campaigns and messages and to improve awareness among the targeted population;
    Ensuring regular collaboration and coordination with the MSF medical team, to guarantee that the HP is part of medical activities and contribute to the medical objectives of the project
    Knowing protocol(s) for Sexually Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and ensuring its application. Identifies possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team for treatment according to protocol(s)
    Supervising the IEC/HP team and their activities, in and outside health facilities, reporting difficulties and progress as well as adapting format and content when necessary. Planning and supervising the HR associated processes (recruitment, training, evaluation, development and internal communication) of the IEC / HP staff of the project. This will be done in close coordination with the HR department, the administration manager and project coordinator and according to MSF vision, values and procedures. Ensuring that HP/IEC participates in counseling services when needed, specially including Prevention Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) and Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VTC)
    Participating in the monthly reports according to guidelines (SitReps, statistical reports, etc.)

    MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

    Plan and conduct periodic surveys, MSF census and assessments of humanitarian situation that are directly or indirectly health related to feed the operational and advocacy strategy of MSF in Dagahaley camp.
    Plan, organize and coordinate health promotion activities in Dagahaley camp and ensure implementation of those activities in accordance with the existing community health strategy in Dagahaley project
    Daily management of his team: monthly/weekly activity schedule, annual leave planning and monitoring for punctuality and attendance/absence from duties… also support the team in problem solving and conflict resolution and ensure good collaboration among the team with their respective supervisors
     Schedule weekly/monthly departmental meetings among the outreach team and also with other departments to ensure proper communication and guidance/direction to the department and maintain good working relation with other departments.
    Together with the field coordinator’s office, collaborate with the community representatives in health related issues.
    Plan and organize for monthly, quarterly and yearly training need assessment with the help of the training supervisor and ensure the learning gaps in the department are highlighted and addressed through appropriate training
    Participate in the yearly evaluation of the HP staff, update their different Job descriptions and take part in the recruitment of the HP staff
    Participate and contribute to the development and discussion of the yearly/multiyear plan of action for the project 
    Foster integration with both primary health care (PHC) and hospital programmes, departments and clinics through weekly defaulter tracing activities, strategy meetings and also participation in peer reviews relevant to the programmes, departments and clinics

    Médecins Sans Frontières France Mathare Project is looking to fill the position of a Psychologist. The successful candidate reports to the SGBV/Mental Health Supervisor.
    Objective of the Position:
    The Psychologist will be providing psychological support to patients according to MSF principles, standards and procedures in order to improve the patients’ mental health.
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    1. Provision of counselling activities in the Trauma/SGBV clinics

    Liaise closely with other departments in the programme to enable open communication and ensure smooth referral of patients
    Attend supervisor meetings, discussing relevant issues concerning the counselling department.
    Reinforce confidentiality in the clinics
    Order requests of commodities and stationery for the department activities

    2. Psychological care for SGBV patients and other Mental health emergencies

    Provide patient centered psychological care for clients according to MSF guidelines.
    Sensitize the medical team to recognize psychological disorders and to refer patients to the psychologist for further assessment and management
    Ensure the patients receive open-minded support regarding their right to choose, especially in delicate issues like TOP, desire for a child, marital discrepancy etc.
    Provide psychotherapy interventions for patients with complicated psychological diagnosis and evaluate the necessity of referral for external support or for a 2nd opinion
    Referral of acute mental health emergencies and follow up of the patients in referral facilities (together with MAM)

    3. Continuous Medical Education (CME) presentations about psychological disorders

    To participate in CMEs and on job training for staff on trauma cases, SGBV cases, child development, counselling techniques etc. The counsellors should be encouraged to present with your support and input.
    Participate in training new Staff or other health workers from MOH/ other organizations
    Develop treatment literacy sessions and provide materials and tools.
    Train and supervise counsellors and expert patients, as needed, to conduct such sessions with the involvement of the medical team
    Provide health education materials for patients

    Requirements
    Education: Degree in Clinical Psychology.
    Experience: Psycho-social counselling experience of at least 2 years.
                         Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs is an added advantage
    Languages: Fluency in English and Kiswahili is a must, other local languages is a plus.

    Overall Responsibilities:
    The COP leads and manages the project and is accountable for project deliverables and results, with full accountability and authority for the development, execution, and monitoring of the project, including (1) vision and technical strategy; (2) project management; (3) documentation and communication; (4) client(s) and stakeholder(s) relationships; and (5) coordination and synergy with other USAID and MSH projects. In the role of Chief of Party, s/he ensures that the Program has a strategic vision of success, and deploys all resources – financial, technical, and human – in support of these strategies and plans. S/he is aware of and adheres to MSH’s Procurement Integrity standards and procedures in all project management responsibilities.
     
    This position is subject to project award and funding.
     
    Specific Responsibilities:
    The COP serves as the primary project liaison from MSH to the donor, US Government representatives, non-government partners such as civil society organizations, private entities, professional associations and academic and learning institutions, and appropriate officials from the Government of Kenya and representatives from other donor and development agencies. The COP is accountable for the achievement of results, ensuring quality of services is maintained at the highest standard, and that all project objectives and deliverables are met.
    The COP adapts and implements management systems with standard operating procedures to administer all activities funded by the agreement, ensuring sufficient financial staff for disbursing all local costs under this project, monitoring and tracking expenditures, and preparing financial reports of project expenditures for submission to USAID.
    The COP collaborates with partners, donor, and stakeholder representatives, building and maintaining productive relationships.
    The COP supervises direct reports with a particular focus on achievement of their key tasks and project deliverables.
    The COP communicates, implements, and assures adherence to MSH and project policies, guidelines and values; develops staff skills and knowledge; and facilitates supervisee success and professional development whenever possible.

    A Masters’ degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university. 
    A minimum of 12-15 years of project management experience (of which at least half is in a senior management position) in large, multi-year international health sector development programs that have implemented successful activities in areas such as governance, analytics and information systems, health systems strengthening and support to decentralized governments structures. 
    Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in two or more of the following areas: supply chain systems and improved access to and accountability of quality health products and technologies; health systems governance; evidence-based policy development and implementation for quality and equitable services: and health systems strengthening, including human resources for health management systems, analytics and information systems, county-based health care financing and good governance/leadership.
    Experience in public health in low- and middle-income countries managing the technical operational, and organizational aspects of health projects including staff supervision and oversight of operational procedures and policies; preference given to those with experience in Kenya.
    Familiarity with USAID regulations and administrative procedures in the implementation of donor assisted projects.
    Proven record of aligning diverse, multi-level teams with project mission and vision. Track record of strong commitment to sharing knowledge, documenting experiences, supporting creative initiatives, and sharing credit. 
    Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level colleagues, particularly interacting productively, proactively, and comfortably with government agencies, NGOs, private sector groups, USAID, CAs, and donor organizations.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Support Tissue Culture Lab Operations

            Cleaning and sterilization of laboratory and laboratory apparatus.
            Preparation of plant growth medium (MS).
            Initiation of Ipomoea batatas explants into growth medium.
            Subculture and multiplication of in vitro Ipomoea batatas.
            Culture maintenance of in vitro Ipomoea batatas in the growth rooms.
            Meristem-tip culture of infected Ipomoea batatas following virus screening.
            Multiplication of received clones and preparing them for distribution.

    Conduct Greenhouse Maintenance and Multiplications of materials

            Hardening sweet potato plantlets from the tissue culture lab.
            Rapid multiplication of disease-free varieties in the screen house.

    Requirements
    Selection Criteria 

    Technical studies in laboratory. Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology is a plus

    Functional responsibilities
    The MEL Advisor will be responsible for the design, implementation and technical quality of all monitoring and evaluation activities on the project. S/he will ensure that systems are in place to ensure quality data reporting and promote learning and knowledge sharing. The M&E Lead will also direct implementation science and evidence utilization for the project. S/he will develop and deploy systems to make data, tools, materials and products relevant to M&E, available timely to the project. This position will communicate, connect, and coordinate with other HQ and country office technical staff, partners, faculty, government and stakeholders, and donor to ensure successful design and implementation of the M&E portfolio of activities expected.  This position will provide highest level strategic technical and program M&E leadership and quality assurance and will take a lead role in disseminating lessons learned from M&E at national and regional forums. The position will be based at the project’s main office, and s/he will report to the Technical Project Director.
    Duties and responsibilities

    Lead the design and implementation of the project’s M&E activities, including developing and executing the project’s evaluation and result measurement plan.
    Support the project leadership and partners to develop and implement appropriate M&E standards and guidelines.
    Provide technical assistance on the design and implementation of qualitative studies and quantitative surveys for NCDs, educational and social services, including sampling strategies, survey instruments, survey implementation, data analysis, report writing, and dissemination of results. This may include cross sectional surveys, trials for improved practices (TIPS), sentinel surveillance, lot quality assurance sampling, focus group discussions, in-depth interviews.
    Oversee the dissemination of information on project evaluations, successful and promising approaches, lessons-learned and other program results to local, national and regional-level intergovernmental bodies, funders, partners and other stakeholders.
    Promote forums that facilitate collaboration, learning and action as a result of this information among these actors.
    Contribute to strengthening data collection and information systems including providing capacity building (TA and training) as needed in strategic collection and use of data to track inputs, processes, outputs and outcomes, undertaking periodic reviews and participating in planning M&E system to strengthen actions, as well as other initiatives.
    Contribute to work plans, quarterly and annual reports, financial reports, and others summarizing project results and evidence.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Desired knowledge, skills and attributes

    In-depth knowledge of educational and social services, simulation mode of teaching, NCDs, including medical faculties, governmental and non-governmental contexts.
    Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others, including developing and maintaining compatibility among project staff, consultants, partners and recipients of project TA and support.
    Demonstrated management and team-building skills, including relevant experience in direct supervision of professional staff.
    Articulate and able to communicate in a clear, professional manner with clients and staff.
    Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the social, political, ethical issues surrounding Tunisian medical community.
    Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workflow.

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, public health, demography, health management, social science, bio-statistics, statistics or related field. Master’s degree or higher preferred.

    Minimum of eight years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility in designing, implementing, managing and leading M&E activities for large public health programs, including educational and social service, NCDs, technical assistance, health systems strengthening, integrated health service delivery, human capacity and organizational capacity development.

    Strong quantitative or mixed-method analytical skills. Must be able to use MS Excel Word, PowerPoint and Access, and at least one data management software program, such as R, SAS or SPSS. Experience training others in its use is highly desirable.

    Demonstrated ability to engage in knowledge management and be able to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills, as well as strong oral presentation skills in English.Ability to undertake extensive local travel, and limited international travel as assigned.

    The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit a highly skilled, results-oriented Logistics Analyst to provide support to the Logistic Officer.
    The Position: The Logistics Analyst will be based at the CIP Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya and will be responsible to support the Regional office in offering effective and efficient procurement and logistics services.
    Key Responsibilities:

    Identify new suppliers and derivative products by constant market follow up, call for bids and acquire the best suppliers that will guarantee an optimum supply chain;

    Identify and implement alternatives for purchase sources, to minimize costs and time;

    Receive and review procurement requests and initiate procurement procedures for goods and services in a transparent and cost-effective manner;

    Process and issue purchase orders through the OCS (One Corporate System) for approved requisitions in coordination with the program staff to ensure the efficient and faster processing of requisitions;

    Organize and monitor acquisitions, following standard processes and track product flow from origin to final delivery;

    Create and maintain contact with internal customers, in-order-to assist them with technical queries/ requests, agreed standards and deadlines;

    Process documentation for execution of logistics operations, taking appropriate actions to resolve operational issues in coordination with the Logistics Officer;

    Gather and prepare all purchase documents for Donor or Internal Audits;

    Assist the Logistics Officer in preparing Bidding Templates for Purchases of goods, services and consultancies;

    Maintain regular contact with contracted suppliers to monitor adherence to delivery period according to the terms of procurement agreement;

    Prepare reports on Purchases statistics (supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution) for decision making;

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business or related disciplines;

    At least two years of experience required in similar position;

    Knowledge of suppliers in Agricultural Research activities highly desirable;

    Proficient on MS Excel, Word and Power Point at user level;

    Knowledge of ERP software’s and administration of products and suppliers master files; previous experience of Agresso software will be an added advantage

    Knowledge of EU, USAID, BMGF and AFDB procurement conditions a plus;

    Working experience in NGOS is a plus;

    Membership to KISM or CIPS certification is an added advantage;

    Fluent written and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili;

    Ability to work under pressure and in a team setting;

    Strong client service orientation and displaying a good-natured cooperative attitude with internal and external clients;
