    MAIN TASKS
    The GHAN Coordination Officer will:
    Ensure the good functioning of the GHAN in line with agreed ToRs, notably by facilitating the following:

    Maintenance of a forum for sharing key analyses and reflection on global health issues of relevance: ongoing and emerging, including relevant themes, actors, and dynamics.
    Organization of the monthly Core GHAN meetings for coordination, planning, prioritization and reflection purposes.
    Provision of cross-cutting analyses and policy trends common to several GHAs that may affect people in places MSF works or MSF operations.
    Contribution to institutional knowledge and the strategic decision-making process of MSF related to issues linked with the global health arena. Including ad-hoc briefing of and reporting to the IMS, relevant platforms, and other analysis and advocacy bodies within MSF.
    Collaboration on specific issues and prepare key or extraordinary moment/event under the coordination of the IMS.

    Ensure the good functioning and coordination of the Core GHAN in line with agreed ToRs, notably by ensuring the following:

    Membership, including participation, dedication, responsiveness to tasks, and understanding of the functioning and history of the GHAN.
    Organizing and/or facilitating calls about topics relevant to the GHAN;
    Promoting the use of the GHAN Sharepoint platform for centralizing information and outputs from GHAN members.
    Maintenance of the Sharepoint platform to ensure availability of up-to-date analyses and info sharing.
    Identifying and developing (or delegate the creation of) additional necessary tools to fulfil the role of the GHAN, etc.
    Securing and maintaining admin support for the GHAN to improve information sharing and management for all interlocutors.
    Maintaining an updated mapping of GHAN members and GHA focal points in line with priority issues, organizing regular calls among peers and regular info sessions with relevant WG.
    Good functioning and relevant outputs from thematic groups, including decision to create, maintain, hibernate, or disband them.

    Maintain functional links and information exchange with GHA focal points and wider peer network, notably by:

    Actively seeking updates from GHA focal points or other internal priority global health issue (GHI) dossier managers as relevant.
    Organizing the peer network calls quarterly to update on issues or trends of relevance to MSF and get input.
    Ad hoc / as needed provoking active information gathering and analysis on priority issues as agreed with the IMS.
    Organizing the annual GH “Pop Up” meetings.
    Working closely with the International Medical Secretary, serve as secretariat and provide strategic support to the GHAN, including preparation and enactment of the GHAN’s agenda, yearly workplan and objectives.
    Undertaking other duties and ad hoc tasks as delegated by the International Medical Secretary.
    Contributing to planning and organization of Operational Reflection Days or other key moments of debate at the MedOp or other relevant platforms requiring GHAN input and analysis.

    Maintain dedicated administrative support to the GHAN, work together to organize:

    Meeting logistics (dates, location, virtual connections, technology needs).
    Supporting documents related to the platform meetings from GHAN members and other stakeholders across the movement as relevant.
    Meeting minutes in a timely manner and follow up on action points.
    Archiving of documents as required.
    Tracking and follow-up on outcomes, flagging deadlines and new requests as they arise.

    Knowledge of MSF internal architecture, as well as decision-making and representation platforms a must.
    Experience working in global health arena and demonstrated knowledge of key actors, trends, and policies.
    Experience or involvement in advocacy work related to health issues. Experience in humanitarian affairs a plus.
    Demonstrated ability to compile information for analysis and make operational recommendations on the basis of such. Good writing and documentation skills.
    Proven and significant ability with Microsoft Office (experience using SharePoint is an advantage).
    Prior experience in project management an advantage.

    Objective of the Position:
    Perform secretarial administrative activities according to the instructions of the supervisor and MSF rules and protocols to ensure efficient administrative support to MSF office staff.
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Manage the Front Office: Handle all incoming and outgoing calls. Oversee the use of the photocopier and scanner machines, providing instruction and assistance as needed and reporting any problems with the equipment to the Logistics Manager. Daily mail collection and distribution of letters and other information to the department mail boxes.
    Travel and Visitor Assistance: Welcome all visitors to the office, directing the persons as needed. Arrange for pick-up and drop offs as requested and according the movement plan. Plan and organize in collaboration with the log base routine movement.
    Transit & Movements Organization & Follow-Up: Manage domestic and international transit of people in Kenya, under the supervision of the COFIHR. Prepare all the documents and coordinate expats briefing/induction. In collaboration with the HR assistant, ensure the housing of all staff in transit is taken care of. Answer to any queries related to transit. Provide a basic briefing on taxis and other practical information to people in transit. Maintain a monthly planning for all movements.
    Expatriate Staff Immigration Support: Assist in the immigration administrative procedure for all expatriates and maintain an updated file with this information to ensure timely renewals. Liaise with embassies and immigration in order to follow-up files, deposit/collect documents, get updates on policies and procedures. In collaboration with the RPO office, ensure cancellation of work permits and deposit recovery are done after expatriates’ departure.
    Information Management: File all correspondence received. Maintain an updated contact list. Coordinate and arrange for meetings. Prepare memos as requested, verifying information with the Administration Department.
    Administrative Support: In collaboration with the HR assistant, maintain the front office by organizing the items needed and stationery orders on a weekly basis. Assist the Office Cook with follow-up of the lunch program as needed, including assistance with the accounting records when requested.
    Due to the nature of MSF activities, other duties may be assigned. Assist the management with various tasks as requested. Participate in meetings and trainings as needed. Follow up on taxi/telephone bills and monitor usage.

    Qualifications & Requirements:
    Education

    Diploma in Business administration/Secretarial Studies or any other related administrative course

    Laboratory Supervisor

    Main Purpose
    Planning, organizing and carrying out laboratory activities and supervising the laboratory staff according to MSF protocols, security measures and hygiene standards, in order to support the MSF medical team in the diagnosis of patients’ diseases.
    Accountabilities

    Participating in the project planning and follow-up and reviewing the laboratory budget when necessary in order to support MSF’s medical activities.
    Ensuring the compliance of MSF hygiene and safety protocols, both individually and collectively as well as informing staff of existing biological risks.
    Performing laboratory tests and carrying out sample collection (serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, parasitology …) in accordance with prescriptions as well as ensuring that quality control tests are carried out regularly. Informing the doctor of the results of the tests and keeping a record of the analysis with data from patients.
    Ensuring proper management (cleaning, maintenance, arranging) of all laboratory equipment and the adequate supply of needed equipment and material in order to prevent stock-outs. This includes being responsible for all required automatic instrument calibration, ensuring that no material is taken out of laboratories without prior authorization and carrying out a proper storage system and conditions, inventory, etc. In cooperation with logistics department, ensuring that cold chain is properly maintained in Laboratory areas for both, samples and reagents.
    In the absence of a Laboratory Manager, ensuring proper registration and needs of all lab related activities and implementing a correct use of the associated management tool (EpyTryp. Etc.) in order to have a proper recording of laboratory activities. Preparing and sending slides/samples for external quality control.
    Supervising, in close coordination with the Hospital Director, the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, coaching, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
    Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
    Producing regular reports on the testing and on any issues / problems related to laboratory personnel and / or the material used.

    MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

    Day-to-day running and coordination of all laboratory activities. On the job and theoretical teaching/training of auxiliary laboratory technician’s frequent supervision and support to the auxiliary lab tech working in the HP.
    Weekly blood supply management through deputy-Medical Coordinator request if require from the donor
    Collect samples in an appropriate manner and according to the criteria in place, for further processing of sample in other locations (Nairobi, Lancet MSFF etc.). Ensure that results reach their destination timely.
    Ensure the equipment is available, handled carefully and that consumable goods are available and ordered in due time.
    Facilitate any needs relating to epidemic surveillance.
    Supervise the health post and lab consumable material and drugs, weekly order is done according to the schedule agreed upon by project pharmacy managers, follow-up of daily, and weekly registration books and reports. The storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, and drugs consumption related to departments.
    Part of the emergency team and also on–call providing support for emergency laboratory investigations at short notice round the clock as needed.
    Use appropriate, PPE’s provided by the facility while in the clinical setting and also when attending to patients.
    Support capacity building of nurses, clinical officers and doctors in regards to making them proficient to perform point-of-care rapid tests on their own.

    Requirements
    Education

    Essential Laboratory Technician diploma /degree.

    Experience

    Essential 2 years’ experience in a laboratory, preferably as a Lab Tech

    Main Purpose

    Accountabilities

    MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

    Supervise all WATSAN activities within the project KE-128 and act as a referent to all departments.
    Support Medical and Logistics activities in medical facilities where MSF works.
    Ensuring the maintenance and repair of technical equipment in the project to guarantee adequate running of Watsan activities.
    Guarantee compliance with MSF standards regarding WATSAN and Planetary health in all MSF facilities and also in outreach activities.

    Ensuring the maintenance and repair of premises in the project to guarantee adequate and safe working spaces.
    Identify, draw and follow a work plan ensuring that the MSF procedures and standards are followed by contractors to guarantee the operational quality of the project and the inherent safety of the buildings themselves.
    Cold chain management – to prepare the passive cold chain equipment for respecting the conditioning of icepacks for transportation, as well as active cold chain equipment should be maintained.
    Biomedical equipment management – all equipment should be maintained based on a chronogram, the technical protocols are well respected, and users to be trained.
    Energy – Solar systems should be maintained according to maintenance protocols, and the consumption of power is monitored and reported on a monthly basis. All the technical requirement/recommendations to be addressed to Log Manager in the appropriate time frame.
    Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning- ensure providing the suitable temperature and humidity conditions for medicines. Follow the maintenance chronogram.

    Requirements
    Education: Technical diploma, essential specialization in water and sanitation Other technical diploma in logistics desirable
    Experience:

    At least one year in MSF or 2 years in a similar post out of MSF
    At least 2 years experience in technical aspects of water and sanitation works

    About the role
    The International Potato Center (CIP) through the SweetGAINS project has been working at modernizing sweetpotato breeding programs, by improving excellence in the management of breeding data. The position will support these efforts for Root and Tuber Crops (RTB) in Sub-Saharan African (SSA), Latin America and Asia. Also the MIPPI and EiA Initiatives of the One CGIAR are in demand of similar support.
    Key Responsibilities:

    The data specialist will be part of the data management team overseeing RTB breeding and genetic data management systems.
    Understand existing tools used for data capture and assist in the developing modules that extend the scope for the current tools. 
    Respond to ICT support requests from CIP breeders and partners in a timely manner through WhatsApp/telegram/telephone/field visits. 
    Contribute to writing standard operating procedures for RTB breeding data management.
    Lead capacity building efforts among project collaborators and partners in data collection, storage, documentation and management. Act as lecturer in these     trainings.
     Implement and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) protocols and routines, including safe and remote back-up of database systems and tools.
    Contribute to development and management of germplasm data management systems for RTB invitro and invivo germplasm collections at KEPHIS, Mugaga,     Kenya. 
    Designing (in collaboration with subject area specialists) and implementing comprehensive, gender-aware, monitoring and evaluation systems to assure that quality data (both quantitative and qualitative) are collected, entered, and stored for project use and documented for eventual public use. 
     Contribute to development of additional dashboards to enable routine monitoring of social science data coming from the field.
     Keep up to date with the latest tools and resources, including open-source software, for the collection, management, storage and sharing of data and information.
     Maintain the confidentiality of all information collected.
    Perform any other activity as assigned to by the supervisor. 
    Supervise a junior data management staff member.
     Be committed to using research for development in a complex cooperative environment of research and development partners.The work will require considerable travel within Sub Saharan Africa.

    What are we looking for?

    MA/MSc degree in Information Systems, Database Management, Computer Science, or related discipline.
    At least five years research experience in the design and implementation of data management systems
    Experience working with integrated database systems preferably for research projects, including large-scale socioeconomic and/or biological surveys e.g., MySQL or MS SQL Server.
    Knowledge and experience of mobile data collection systems.
    Knowledge and experience of Linux operating systems preferred.
    Experience with database design, database management and computer programming, and with the application of quality assurance standards and procedures.

    Objective of the Position:

    Fleet Management and Supervision: Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance: planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all vehicles according to MSF standards.     Human Resource Management: Participates in the planning and implementation, together with the Logistics Manager, the HR associated processes (recruitment, team management, training, induction, evaluation and objetive setting, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibiltiy in order to ensure both the sizing and capacity required to correctly perform their activities. Follows on the work planning for his/her team.
    Logistics administration and reporting: Assists the Logistics Manager with the follow up of the logistics budgets, expenses/realization and the preparation of the monthly cash request. Analyses the monthly utility bills (water, electricity) for all premises and flags and investigates any irregularities, reporting back to the Logistics Manager. Gives input on the annual budget and its revisions. Attends the weekly planning meetings and takes notes/reports whenever necessary.
    Due to MSF nature of activities, other duties as assigned by the Supervisor like participating in emergency response or logistics support to the other projects if need be

    Requirements:

    Education:  Technical training in Logistics or any other course in a technical family relevant to MSF activities (Water & Sanitation, Mechanics, Electricity, Biomedical, Construction)

    Responsibilities

    Maintaining security of the premise both property and personnel;

    Qualifications
    Formal Education and Professional Qualifications:

    ‘O’ level education with a minimum mean grade C (Plain) or Division III
    Background in discipline forces with clean separation record is must.
    Relevant professional training with a minimum of Diploma in Security Training or equivalent with knowledge of law.
    A recognized university degree and Competence in Driving (BCE), Dog Handling, Computer knowledge (MS Office) and unarmed combat skills,
    Experience with electronic alarms, access control equipment, CCTV and other sophisticated technology based security systems,
    Previous clean record in disciplined services and basic accounting knowledge is an added advantage,
    Must be medically and physically fit with no criminal record and a valid Police Clearance Certificate (Certificate Good Conduct) from the Kenya Police PCR.

    Relevant working experience:

    Proven management and communication skills, excellent planning, organisation and analytical skills; including report writing and computer skills.
    High integrity with excellent team and interpersonal skills, with strong customer. orientation, tact and diplomacy.
    Basic understanding of Kenyan law, particularly; the Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Evidence Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act of Kenya.

    Principal Responsibilities
    Provide technical support to project implementation.

    Provide technical support for the integration of gender findings from the gender analysis studies into program activity plans, strategies, budgets, and monitoring, evaluation and learning systems.
    Ensure FH’s project compliance with FH gender justice policy and mainstreaming guideline, USAID’s Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Policy, Food for Peace Gender Guidance, ADS 205 and other relevant guiding principles, policies, and regulations throughout the RFSA initiatives and other USAID funded projects as applicable.
    Continuously recommend adjustments to project strategies and activities to respond to gender findings throughout the life of the program, ensure strategies and activities to prevent and/or mitigate gender-based violence are included during project implementation.
    Evaluate project monitoring systems and adjust as necessary to disaggregate data by sex, include gender sensitive indicators and have strategies for monitoring unintended consequences.
    Represent FH to identify and facilitate relationships with Universities and other learning partners, identify learning questions related to gender, manners of meeting those information needs, and their fulfillment and documentation.
    Develop gender-sensitive empowerment approaches for all program design, implementation and monitoring activities, considering the special interests and needs of women and men to promote behavior change; provide technical support for the integration of gender and youth within RFSA Theory of Changes (TOCs).
    Build staff capacity in gender, possibly including gender sensitization training.
    Conduct field visits and monitor implementation as it relates to gender concerns.
    Provide technical oversight for any gender programmatic aspects as relevant, such as behavior change initiatives to transform gender norms.
    Represent FH and communicate with the USAID Food for Peace staff and/or other USAID staff in order to support on-going and potential gender programming.
    Lead regional gender champions and gender community of practice meetings.
    Support FH regional gender, youth, and SBC mainstreaming effort in collaboration with other gender, youth, and SBC experts in the region and GSC.

    Provide technical support for the development of new programs.

    Write technical components related to gender for proposal development, such as new RFSA applications.
    Ensure that gender and youth issues are well integrated within the TOCs.
    Provide technical guidance in the development of proposal strategies to ensure that gender (and youth) are well integrated within every sector.
    Advocate to ensure that gender is adequately budgeted for in proposal budget applications.
    Evaluate the appropriate gender assessments required based on the specific needs of an opportunity; identify or develop appropriate assessment tools; and support and/or conduct the assessments.
    Actively engage in FH program model development.

    Represent the organization at BHA, Consortium and learning forum meetings.

    Represent FH at relevant forums and working groups in order enhance FH’s technical work and reputation in the international development community.
    Attend meetings that are related to innovations, technical approaches and/or best practices and strategies.
    Document lessons learned in the field, especially new lessons gained from operational research, and share these lessons and new programmatic methodologies/strategies with relevant working groups.
    Participate in the development of new tools within the working group(s) in the area of gender.

    Experience

    Objective of the Position:
    Participate in defining, planning and monitoring medical and humanitarian Emergency programs in Kenya in accordance with MSF’s protocols as well as coordinating human and material-related resources needed in order to ensure the quality of care provided by MSF.
    Tasks & Responsibilities:
    She/he will perform the following main tasks, among others:  

    In collaboration with the Medical Coordinator and the Medical team, MoH partners, define the surveillance, monitoring mechanism and tools for epidemic disease potentially recurrent within the country, according to MSF Eprep strategic plans, standards and protocols.
    Launch an exploratory mission as results of an alert from epidemic disease surveillance report, outbreak and natural catastrophe or conflicts situations within the country and develop the project proposal.
    Responsible for the medical data collection, analysis and reporting to the Medical Coordination in the capital in order to ensure a proper monitoring of the Emergency Intervention/ project.
    Provides technical support to medical personnel in the field through self-knowledge and policies, ensuring compliance with the protocols of MSF medical activities.
    Coordinates, supervises, coaches, supports and evaluates the Emergency team members’ performance to improve the medical and non-medical components of the Emergency intervention/project while ensuring compliance with MSF protocols and standards as well as MoH protocols.
     Collaboration with the Mission Epidemiologist to establish functional network with the county disease surveillance team and/or Epidemiologist. Update the EPREP strategic plan annually and the county profile.
    Supervises an efficient management of the MSF Emergency/project pharmacy and medical equipment, in collaboration with the Logistics department. Monitors consumption and preparation of medical orders.
    Implements the health policy for international and national staff, providing all prophylactic and preventive necessary measures, emergency plans, managing any medical evacuation in order to ensure MSF staff health.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    Education: Medical doctor or paramedical degree. Desirable specialization or training in Emergency and project Management Course.
    Experience: Essential 2 years working experience in paramedics and previous MSF field experience.
