    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    As the Solutions Delivery Analyst for Visa’s East Africa markets, you will be part of the Visa Product organization based in Nairobi, Kenya, reporting to the Director of Products for East Africa. The position is designed to be entry-level to Visa and the payments industry, where the successful candidate will be immersed in the business and required to learn quickly.
    You will be responsible for support and project management facilitation for the implementation of Visa’s product capabilities and solutions in the East Africa region.

    Project Delivery

    Drive execution of digital payment projects across East Africa, utilizing effective project management methodologies, execution skills and reporting
    Actively participate in or manage various ad-hoc projects as assigned that will help achieve internal and external goals – examples may include product launches with clients, delivering local benefit platforms or driving market-wide programs for Visa

    Purpose
    The Risk Management (RM) Director serves as the “face of Risk” for the office, countries, Sub-Region or Region they cover.
    Externally, The RM Director’s obligation is to ensure Visa’s interactions with clients, merchants, regulators and other third parties on risk-related matters are well informed, effective, and collectively moving the Visa ecosystem towards a stronger state.
    Internally, the RM Director’s obligation is to leverage our market knowledge and presence to ensure Visa’s risk-related policies, programs and frameworks are aligned with current and future business demands.
    The RM’s work begins with delivering on the traditional role of engaging clients, merchants and other stakeholders to mitigate fraud and data compromise events, promote stronger authentication and data security, and help enforce Visa’s external risk programs and policies.
    Relationships are strengthened as we provide additional insights and support against a broader set of risk-related issues and activities, including client fraud and approval optimization, credit settlement risk, anti-money laundering, deployment of Visa Risk Products, the use of third parties and deployment of emerging technologies.

    Job description

    The Functional Literacy and Numeracy Specialist will lead an assorted team comprising of government officers, development actors and project participants accomplishing the following:
    Development/adaptation of learning assessment tools for assessing the girls’ abilities in literacy and numeracy at entry point and progressive acquisition of functional literacy and numeracy skills
    Development/adaptation of a Teachers’ Needs Assessment/Gap analysis tool: this will provide benchmarks for each volunteer teacher in the project that will inform continuous professional development through coaching and mentorship processes
    Development/adaptation of a functional literacy and numeracy curriculum that will be used by volunteer teachers to deliver learning sessions for girls at the catch-up centres in readiness for the selected girls to choose the suitable pathways for transition.
    The consultant will also lead the process of developing functional literacy and numeracy teaching and learning materials for use by the volunteer teachers and girls during catch-up sessions.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    Bachelor’s or post graduate degree Education
    At least 7 years’ experience designing and delivering literacy and numeracy interventions
    Evidence of experience in material development specifically on functional literacy and numeracy
    Highly desired- Experience working in hardest to reach areas where social norms and abject poverty impede access to education for girls
    Highly desired -Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, Gender and Inclusion
    Desirable – Experience in implementing Girls’ Education and Empowerment projects

    Job description
    Responsibilities
    This person will be the primary technical specialist responsible for ensuring development and tendering of environmentally-sound generation and transmission projects and working with East Africa electrical utilities to help address their environmental challenges. The work will require liaising with the project staff such as Community Engagement Advisors to ensure that affected communities for proposed projects are heard in relation to environmental issues that impact their communities.
    Specific Responsibilities

    Be the subject matter expert for the EAEP project regarding environmental issues
    Review environmental impact assessments for proposed generation projects and to a lesser degree for transmission and distribution projects. Provide feedback on these reports and recommend courses of action to country counterparts, developers, and other country stakeholders.
    Support counterparts’ understanding of environmental issues regarding the energy sector. Assess knowledge gaps and develop plans to address them, referencing international standards.
    Work closely with the EAEP Community Engagement Advisors to understand the needs of communities that will be affected by projects, especially regarding right-of-way issues for transmission infrastructure and related power generation infrastructure. Support the Community Engagement Advisor to facilitate dialogues among communities, developers, and government officials with the to come to agreements on environmental issues related to projects that will affect communities.

    Required Minimum Qualification And Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, or another relevant field.
    6-10 years of experience working with completing and/or reviewing environmental reports, specifically in relation to energy for at least 2 years
    Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the power sector and its environmental challenges in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia

    Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
    Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required. Strong proficiency in another East African language is preferred.
    Level of Effort
    We anticipate this position will be part-time, with a level of effort of approximately 100 days per year. This position will be based primarily in Nairobi, but will require working in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and possibly Djibouti, Somalia, Burundi, and DRC. Some work will be handled remotely such as document reviews, but other assignments will require ground presence.
