    Job Purpose:

    Pharmacist job exists to provide pharmacy and pharmaceutical services to patients in the hospital, provide clinical research and training and advise the hospital.

    Duties and Responsibility:

    Provide technical pharmacy and pharmaceutical advice and service to the hospital.

    THE ROLE 

    Plan International Kenya is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Humanitarian Response who is also highly motivated and experience in triple nexus programming to lead and oversee all aspects of humanitarian response and nexus programming within the Kenya Country Program. This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will require extensive travel and fieldwork, particularly in regions affected by humanitarian crises in country. The position reports to the Country Director, with matrix reporting to the (MEESA) Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa Regional DRM Manager (Functional Leader).

    DIMENSION OF THE ROLE

    This is a strategic role to lead, guide and design the holistic approach for Plan International’s humanitarian response in Kenya, aligning the (CO) Country Office program to sound humanitarian standards and with the organization’s global humanitarian strategy and the specific needs and context of Kenya. The role supports the CO to fundamentally ensure nexus programming is institutionalised, while being cognisant on the changing context of global humanitarian crises. Among the key dimensions of the role include development of a humanitarian and resilience building strategy, a relevant humanitarian response framework that includes resource mobilization, modelling of humanitarian, development and community cohesion approaches, managing an operational Emergency Preparedness and Response plan, while driving gender transformative in PIK Emergency design, implementation and reporting.

    Qualifications/ experience Essential:

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in international development, humanitarian studies, peacebuilding, international development, social sciences, or related field.
    At least 10 years of experience in program management, with a focus on humanitarian response, development, and peacebuilding initiatives, including experience in leading humanitarian programs in complex emergencies.
    At least 5 years proven leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
    Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, standards, and frameworks, including Sphere standards, Core Humanitarian Standard, and the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines.
    Strong understanding of the humanitarian-development-peacebuilding nexus and demonstrated experience in integrating these approaches into program design and implementation.
    Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, with the ability to influence policies and practices at local, national, and international levels.
    Experience working in Kenya or similar contexts affected by humanitarian crises, conflict, and poverty.
    Commitment to Plan International’s values and principles, including gender equality, inclusion, and child rights.
    Proven experience in program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in multiple humanitarian sectors.

    ABOUT COSME PROJECT
    Plan International’s Conservation and Sustainable Management of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems (COSME) project aims to significantly scale up Plan International Kenya’s current women-led, climate-resilient livelihoods and coastal management project in Kwale and Kilifi counties. It takes an ecosystems-based approach in partnership with Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) Canada. COSME will also capitalize on opportunities for South-South learning by working between Kenya/Tanzania cross-border communities within the same marine coastal and coastal forest eco-regions. The project will be instrumental in driving Nature Based Solutions (NbS) for climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation in the selected eco-regions: i) mangrove restoration and conservation; ii) sustainable seaweed farming; and iii) locally-led forest management and conservation. Small-scale conservation agriculture practices will also be deployed to build the resilience of women in selected communities.  The ultimate project outcome is improved climate-resilient, equitable economies within communities relying on coastal and marine ecosystems.
    THE ROLE
    The Communications Assistant will provide support to the COSME project team mainly through designing and implementation of the project communication plan, support COSME SBCC strategy, collecting and documenting significant change stories, events, taking impact photographs and supporting with content for digital media and external engagement.  
    ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MAIN WORK ACTIVITIES
    Documentation 35%

    Documenting stories of change and case studies for the COSME project and related programs that impact on the project work in both Kwale and Kilifi Program Units. (PU’s).
    Coordinating with Project staff to ensure that stories for the weekly highlight are submitted and shared with the country communications team every week for internal circulation.
    Coordinating with project staff to document quarterly stories of change to be shared externally to the donors
    Ensuring that child protection and safeguarding standards are adhered to during all communications related work from content development to dissemination

    Photography and Videography 30%

    Taking high resolution photos and short videos for use on different platforms including the website, publications and on social media
    Editing photos (when there is a need to) and short videos to ensure good quality of work
    You will be the COSME project focal point working closely with Plan Canada Marketing, Philanthropy and Communications (MPC) team in taking high resolution photos and uploading them and developing project stories for sharing with external audience.

    Events and Supporting Project Activities 15%

    Supporting ongoing project and corporate events and activities through photography, story collection and media engagement in consultation with Influencing, advocacy and Communications Manager
    Supporting in organising events selected calendar days related to the project that Plan International commemorates

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    The Project Officer will work under the Conservation and Sustainable Management of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems (COSME) project. Their primary responsibility will be to implement gender transformative climate adaptation and resilience initiatives within the broader scope of the COSME project at the field level.  The PO will ensure effective partnership management and promote meaningful participation of stakeholders to successfully deliver on the project’s objectives. His/her role will include, mobilisation of project stakeholders, monitor and report on progress of project activities specifically on issues related to gender equality and Inclusion, in close collaboration with WROs, lead implement of the Deep and light model of COSME gender equality and Inclusion strategy, implement SBCC in line with the detailed project implementation plan and to provide administrative and logistical support with all stakeholders for seamless project success. 
    ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MAIN WORK ACTIVITIES
    Planning, Strategy and Policy (10%) 

    Ensure the project contributes to the outcomes for girls and young women are realised and that girls and women occupy spaces to continually address issues affecting them and realisation of gender equality.

This may involve conducting gender-based analysis, and providing guidance on gender equality and Inclusion mainstreaming within COSME project.
    Work closely with COSME Project Officer to ensure rigorous implementation of an SBCC strategy to promote gender equality and inclusion, and that addresses the integral connection between gender and climate/environmental justice, as informed by the GBA+.
    Mobilization and participation of women in climate governance and weak collective action among women’s rights organizations (WROs) and youth-led organizations (YLOs) in local climate action 
    Work directly with Change Agents, with an emphasis on regional experience-sharing, learning exchange and intergenerational dialogue between Change Agents and Youth Led Organizations.
    Support delivery of trainings on gender equality and inclusion, SBCC to stakeholders as well as Plan staff and partners. 
    Promote participation of children, girls and communities in project cycle to explore and challenge gender norms.
    Contribute to gender sensitive responses/intervention through continuous data collection during project implementation. write project periodic reports in line with the laid down donor requirements and Plan standards.

    Facilitate authentic community led beneficiary targeting processes and reporting on interventions being undertaken.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Inclusive Quality Education Technical Lead will drive the development of a CO programme on Inclusive Quality Education that is aligned to Plan International Kenya’s Country Strategy and Plan International’s Global purpose. The position holder will drive new program development in Inclusive Quality Education (IQE) by developing sustainable, integrated programming and is accountable to beneficiaries and donors. S(he) will contribute high-quality technical content to the design of new proposals/ grants, establish partnerships with key players in the IQE Portfolio (including with NGOs, Research Partners, and the Private Sector) and will be the technical lead for national level networking and advocacy on all issues relating to Inclusive Quality Education/Learning. The position holder will maintain high level engagement with government and other actors to drive policy reforms, influencing the agenda as need be and to position PIK in the IQE ecoo-system. The position holder will drive program development through new business acquisition by actively participating in resource mobilization efforts to deliver on Plan Kenya’s bold ambitions for girls and youth in Kenya.

    DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

    Communications requirement: Continuous communication internally with Technical Leads and implementation team at National, Program Units (Field teams) and Partner level. Communication with SOYEE people at the MEESA Regional Office, National Offices level and the global network.
    Risk management: He/she will take proactive stance in identifying and mitigating child and youth safegurding/ code of conduct in emergency response related risks in SIQE projects by Plan as well as by partner organizations.

    Strategic Development of IQE programme: 25%

    Lead in design of the IQE programme for Plan International Kenya as prioritized in the Country Strategic Plan;
    Develop all components of the IQE programme to be aligned with government and donor priorities, as well as the priorities of the children and communities where Plan International Kenya works;
    Identify key implementing and strategic partners working in the field of IQE with whom Plan International Kenya can work with to develop proposals, bid for donor funding and partners on research, advocacy and influencing work. Design evidence-based Learning/IQE projects which are in line with Plan International Kenya and CS, for grant funded and sponsorship programmes;
    Document key methodologies used by Plan International in the Education Sector and advise on how these can be adapted for Kenya.
    Seek out innovations that can be used in the IQE space, including the use of ICT4D;
    Work closely with the MER Manager to ensure that all project plans are complete with outcome level monitoring and evaluation plans;
    Continuously learn from implementation to feed into further strategy development, documenting learnings for both internal and external use;

    Promote/support application of Plan International’s global programme quality policy and framework, global IQE M&E standards and Plan International Kenya’s M&E vision in its Country Strategic Plan;
    Ensure programme integration both within and between different programmes to arrive at a holistic, coordinated approach at the community level.

    Business Development: 25%

    Develop high-quality technical content for concept notes and proposals for donor-funded projects
    Assumes shared accountability for resources that are channelled to Plan International by donors.
    Map education sector interventions that are appropriate for Kenya, based on broader Plan International methodologies and wider best practice.
    Take part in national and regional Education Sector Networks and keep abreast of new opportunities for acquiring donor funding
    Established and maintain strong working relationships with bilateral, multilateral and corporate donors in the Education Sector

    Programme Technical Leadership, Quality and Innovation: 20%

    Provide targeted technical assistance to Plan Kenya’s portfolio of education projects , with a focus on programme quality cost effectiveness, building a solid evidence base of what works, as well as driving innovations and moving these to scale;
    Support the development of an integrated approach to programming for adolescents and youth, including strengthening capacity of staff implementing child sponsorship projects that have an adolescent development component;
    Provide technical assistance to support quality design, implementation, monitoring, learning and evaluation of Inclusive Quality Education programs while providing support to teams on reporting for this strategic workstream;
    Strengthen the capacity of program implementation teams and partners, through relevant training modules, to develop, mainstream and implement quality and innovative IQE;
    In collaboration with Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning team, provide oversight and technical guidance in monitoring and harnessing learning from implementing IQE projects, across the programme areas and keep track of achievement of the intended outcomes;
    Provide input into Country Office learning and innovation by supporting the design, testing and evaluation of innovations to advance education for youth, including participating and supporting project/program assessments and evaluations as need be;
    Work with program teams to provide succinct and compelling evidence of IQE and best practices, for internal and external consumption, through documentation and dissemination of lessons learnt;
    In close collaboration with Program Unit Managers, provide timely reports, as may be required on the Plan Kenya’s IQE program portfolio, including updates on program/project challenges and successes;
    Monitor development in the fields of education and incorporate these into PIK experiences in the development of new program work and refinement of existing projects;
    Collaborates with Plan Country Teams in designing projects, identifying opportunities considering the national and global context/target and generating project-related learnings.

    Partnerships, networking and influencing 10%

    Actively participate in IQE eco-systems with the global hub and regional teams as well as within Kenya’s community of practice;
    Participate actively in programme meetings, planning and review activities, providing enhanced insight into child rights programming;
    Actively participate in key relevant internal meetings such as Programme Review Meetings, Advocacy and Communications or area-based meetings as required;
    Participate in any donor visit to project(s) within the country office portfolio, as required;
    Represent Plan Kenya in relevant national technical working groups and networks
    Advocate and negotiate with high level technical experts and government officials, parliamentarians and CSOs;
    Conduct policy analysis to inform advocacy issues and establish and maintenance of dialogue with key decision makers within government;
    Advice on the partnership networks for overall enhancement of the IQE programmes that impact at the different levels of engagement (County, National and Global).

    Risk Management & Financial Responsibility (5%)

    Support the annual planning process to ensure budget are well structured and effectively managed and utilised;
    Coordinate and support programme quality and delivery on IQE project audits and adequate application of management response across all impact areas.

    Roll out and implementation of Your Organization’s Data and Analytics (YODA) (5%)

    Perform YODA specific functions which include but are not limited to; project design and planning; tracking of AOGD core indicators and quality benchmarks in PMERL and project reporting.

    Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) (5%)

    Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures;
    Leads the orientation of programme staff to ensure that they are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

    The Treasury Department is a small specialist team that utilises technology to leverage its services to more than 50 country offices, 19 National Organisations, and 3 Field Country National Organisations. The department transacts approx. 900 foreign exchange transactions a year amounting to in the region of €400,000,000 per annum and manages a deposit book daily of approx. €100,000,000 per day.  The Treasury Department utilizes a Salmon treasury management system and SAP general ledger. You will be responsible for international payments, managing receipts of funds from the member organisations, and the preparation of field Treasury Reporting. 

    Within this role, you will likely interact daily with National Organisation Finance Directors, Country Finance Managers, Regional Finance Managers, Regional Directors and the dealers of Plan’s global banks. The post ensures that the 50+ countries have adequate cash funding daily while monitoring budgets.

    The Person

    With a good grasp of accounting knowledge, you must be a full/part-qualified accountant or studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACT/ACA. You will have an excellent working knowledge of international banking and in-depth knowledge of foreign exchange trades and investment banking.     ABOUT THE ROLE
    The primary objective of the role of the Urban Programme Development Lead, is to:

    Contribute to and provide technical feedback on project reports, research pieces and evaluations of urban projects.
    Provide technical review of bids where urban climate adaptation, resilience or other aspects of urban programming represents an integrated component of the bid, and / or review proposals from other technical teams, as relevant, to provide input and advice.
    Collaborate with DNO’s Program Development Manager, on program development and business development where there is a need to do so.
