    Accountabilities
    Programme Development  

    As part of the CPiE technical team, contribute to the development of the CPiE country programme and strategy  
    Support identification of emerging needs and gaps in the refugee response and conduct consultations with affected populations and other stakeholders as part of needs assessments.  

    Technical Support and Implementation 

    Ensure that there is effective planning, implementation and coordination of inclusive child protection programming, that addresses the key child protection needs  
    Work closely with the rest of the Plan International Romania team to ensure that the implementation of relevant activities are planned and implemented in a phased and prioritised manner, in full consultation and coordination with all relevant agencies 
    Provide technical guidance and direction to Plan International Romania for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the agreed child protection plans 
    Work alongside Plan’s local partners to implement and monitor project activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments that are needed. 
    Provide regular updates to the Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist on progress, priorities and constraints related to CPiE programme activities  

    Partnerships and Capacity-Building  

    Roll-out capacity-building plans and activities for partner organizations on key child protection risks and interventions, including cash and voucher assistance for child protection outcomes  
    Contribute to the review of technical tool and capacity-building resources and ensure they are adapted and contextualized to the Romanian context  
    Regularly deliver capacity-building sessions, such as on-the-job coaching, mentorship, and trainings, to Plan partners staff and volunteers, and other stakeholders.  
    Support ongoing identification of technical capacity gaps among partners and other child protection stakeholders.   
    Regularly updated Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist on progress related to partner capacity-building and feedback on technical tools and resources 
    Support identification of new partnerships and opportunities for child protection programming, in collaboration with the Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist and Partnerships Manager.  

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning

    Work with the MERL & Information Management Specialist to review data on indicators related to capacity-building of local partners and key child protection program activities such as cash and voucher assistance.  
    Build the capacity of partner staff to collect quantitative and qualitative data and to document key learnings from the response 
    Contribute to the evaluate the implementation of CPiE programs and draft recommendations for improved programme design 

    External Representation 

    Represent Plan International at local-level coordination groups and task forces related to child protection, sexual and gender-based violence, and mental health and psychosocial support.  
    Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures

    Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
    Essential
    Knowledge 

    Fluency in written and spoken English and Romanian is essential. 
    Knowledge of child rights, child protection, and child development concepts and practices.  
    General administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills 
    University degree in social work, a social science or another related field. 

    Experience 

    Minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in working with child-focused or child protection mandated civil society organizations or government agencies 
    Experience working directly with children, adolescents, and young people, including vulnerable or marginalized groups such as refugee or migrant populations.  
    Experience in delivering presentations or trainings to actors such as local authorities, civil society organizations, and volunteer groups  
    Experience in developing and monitoring workplans and project reporting

    Accountabilities and MAIN WORK ACTIVITIES
    Local Fundraising Strategy Finalization and Market Mapping (20%)

    Under the guidance of the HoBD, update and lead the phased roll out of the Local Fundraising Strategy with a priority focus on Corporates and Corporate Foundations.   
    Conduct and continuously update scoping, assessment and mapping of private sector companies, corporates and philanthropic foundations for purposes of relationship building
    Conduct private sector ethical screening and due diligence assessment guided by PII Corporate Engagement Ethical Guidelines
    Conduct Service/programme/strategic/collaborative level relationship building and engagement with select private sector companies and corporate foundations and create affinity aimed at securing grants funding
    Organize and spearhead business development and capture engagements with private sector around CSR/I; PPPs/PPDPs; Consortium-led programme design, ideation & co-creation; and joint sponsorships and matched funding.

    Strategic Engagement and Prepositioning with in-country Private Sector Companies, Corporate & Philanthropic Foundations for purposes of Resource Mobilisation (20%)

    Support Head of BD to develop, in collaboration with the Strategy and Innovation team business cases and funding propositions to the private sector
    Support the BD team in reaching out to a priority list of selected private sector companies for relationship building and BD pursuits and target to have engagement MoUs with at least 3 for FY23
    Support HoBD and the team in strategic partnerships engagement in collaboration with Strategy and Innovation team targeted at prepositioning PIK as a GO-TO Agency for the Private Sector in Girl child and youth focused programming (Child Protection, Health -SRHR, Resilience and Youth Employability & Entrepreneurship)  

    Coordinate and technically backstop the development of private sector fundable products (proposals, business cases, concept notes and expression of interests) (15%)

    Prepare and develop concept notes and other proposal write ups including proposals;
    Monitor, document and highlight new business development to ensure that Plan Kenya is abreast of new opportunities in line with Plan Kenya’s strategic focus;

    Support and work with PIK teams in managing potential and current corporates, foundations and major donors with all mapped NOs towards building and revamping funding pipeline diversification
    Support and deepen current Private Sector Donor Accounts and Engagements for scalability and expansion through UKNO, USNO, JNO, KNO, DNO, NLNO among others 
    Create and sustain relationships building and engagement all mapped NOs for entry into their markets for Mission-Driven Private Sector Engagement supported by Products, Business Cases, Ideation and Co-creation mechanisms
    Map out and cascade Private Sector Engagement aligned with NOs GAM processes tapping into the market of multinational corporations

    Representation, Partnerships Engagement and Networking (10%)

    Build a network of professional business contacts within Plan’s industry including negotiating partnership teaming arrangements, related budgets and other institutional arrangements with partners;
    As delegated and under the direction of the Head of Business Development, represent Plan Kenya to donors and partners in line with the an agreed-upon Country office response plan;
    Attend forums and meetings (virtual or in-person) with/or on behalf of the HoBD to represent Plan that will advance its interests to improve its resource base;
    Support to mobilize and setup network meetings between Plan Kenya, its partners, donors and other interested parties.

    Operationalize the Individual Giving and High Net Worth Individuals component of the Local Fundraising Strategy (10%)

    Conduct Market assessment of the individual giving landscape and identify innovative entry points and best practices for adoption.  
    With the support of a Consultant and in consultation with the Finance and Operations team as relevant set up the operating model and infrastructure for individual giving and high net worth individuals (digital fundraising platform account opening- etc)
    In collaboration with other SCBDs, develop or customize and roll out a Customer Relationship Management system for tracking donor engagements.
    Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop bespoke products and IEC materials (both paper and digital

    Qualifications/ experience essential: 

    Bachelor’s degree equivalent practical experience, in interdisciplinary areas within human rights, international development, and program leadership;
    5 years of demonstrable and relevant experience in managing Private Sector Engagement and Resource Mobilisation
    Proven experience in Private Sector Product Development for fundraising, Membership, Relationship Building, CSR/I Engagement, and Campaign fundraising with Private Sector and major donors
    Proven Experience in leading Public-Private Partnerships with Private Sector through Co-Creation, Innovation and Take-to-Market Prospecting including business cases, concepts and proposals

    Purpose of the Job
    To ensure safety of all guest by overseeing all activities under his/her supervision – plan, schedule, coordinate and report performance of the business line with the objective of generating revenue through the use of this attraction, the Zip Line operator assists guests in proper harness and helmet fitting, demonstrating proper zipping techniques, operating the zip line activity, breaking guest’s speed upon incoming approach, performing retrievals and rescues, inspecting equipment, and educating guests on how to enjoy it at best.
    Key Accountability

    Take care of the operational aspects of the Zip line instructing guests in how to properly use the attraction.
    Socialize with Guests giving special attention to the very young/old, any disadvantaged persons, guests travelling alone or of minor linguistic groups.

    The Opportunity
    The Global ECD (Early Childhood Development) network Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and administering Plan International’s ECD network, which currently includes approximately 300 staff from Country Offices, Programme Units, and National Organizations working in both development and humanitarian settings. The aim of the network is to catalyse and support sharing and learning among ECD programme and influencing staff, in order to progress quality, gender-transformative ECD work aligned with the nexus approach.  
    The network coordinator collaborates with the other members of the ECD Hub, and the ECD Core Group to mobilize network members’ support and inputs for advancing global ECD priorities, including the development of guidance/standards, policy and advocacy briefs/positions and external representation. The network coordinator supports the practical application of these resources in the countries, through the facilitation of ECD knowledge management platforms and processes; coordination of the design and implementation of an ECD network learning plan; and through facilitating connections for peer-to-peer technical support, where relevant. 
    The Global ECD Network Coordinator works with staff engaged in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of ECD programming and influencing work across different Country Offices (COs) and National Organizations (NOs). The coordinator also works in collaboration with the coordinators of the Hubs/networks for Plan International’s other priority thematic areas, relevant Disaster Risk Management (DRM) specialists, as well as Specialists in Knowledge Management, to ensure consistent and joined up communication, knowledge management and learning approaches.
    About You
    You will bring experience in at least three of the following areas;  

    Facilitation/coordination of networks or communities of practice
    Design and facilitation of knowledge management platforms and processes; and prior use of relevant platforms/software and tools (e.g. Sharepoint, other online libraries)
    Design and Facilitation of learning opportunities (face-to-face, virtual or hybrid) using a variety of software and tools

    THE ROLE
    Working under the overall direction of the Head of Business Development the Senior Business Development (BD) Coordinator will play a critical role in the development and realization of an ambitious business development country strategy.     THE PERSON

    Accountabilities and Main work activities

    Representation, Partnerships Engagement and Networking (10%)

    Lead in strategic repositioning and build strategic partnerships for new resource mobilization and program development
    Build a network of professional business contacts within Plan’s industry including negotiating partnership teaming arrangements, related budgets and other institutional arrangements with partners;
    As delegated and under the direction of the Head of Business Development and Partnerships, represent Plan Kenya to donors and partners in line with the an agreed upon Country office response plan;

    Develop Fund Agreement Documents and monitor to ensure contracting is finalized between National Offices (NOs) and Plan Kenya;
    Act as a liaison between Grants Department and Business Development Department to ensure there is a harmonized coordination between the departments especially during proposal development (including developing proposal budgets), contracting and hand over of contracted projects to the Program leadership and project staff;
    As part of hand over processes, support in setting up new project start up workshops with the program team and designated project staff and other Plan International key staff.

    Support a high performing team and ensure all relevant departments have the necessary knowledge and skills to acquire and implement sustainable grant funding (30%)

    Identify staff training needs and Work together with the Head of Business Development to identify and coach Plan Kenya staff on grants acquisition to ensure there is a steady pool of staff to support the department in its fundraising efforts.
    Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall smooth operation of the department.

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Plan International seeks an education policy and advocacy expert who has experience with policy analysis and advocacy strategies and initiatives that span both development and humanitarian contexts. The role will be key to advancing Plan International’s influencing on gender transformative education and building resilience of education systems in order to ensure continuity of learning during times of disruption. This will be done by leveraging global, regional, and country level opportunities and processes. The role will ensure Plan International becomes a recognized thought leader on education in all contexts – including development, humanitarian, and protracted crises – and will offer analysis and recommendations to both internal and external sectoral stakeholders on the global education crisis that has been brought on and exacerbated by COVID-19 and climate change. The role will help connect and bridge education policy and advocacy efforts for acute emergencies, with longer term efforts for recovery, resilience, and adaptation.
    SCOPE OF THE ROLE

    Working together with the Inclusive Quality Education Hub and the Education in Emergencies Network develop robust policy analysis and position papers on priority thematic issues related to education, particularly as it relates to education in crisis/ emergency including in displacement settings, education and the nexus approach and climate change education, for Plan International’s strategy, operations and influencing
    Provide robust, accurate policy advice and information to drive Plan International’s strategic education influencing strengthening our niche in gender transformative education to ensure that advocacy efforts can be utilised for global and domestic purposes.
    Manage global campaigning and advocacy efforts on education, coordinating with National, Regional, Country and Liaison Office colleagues.
    Manage and coordinate external representation and partnerships as they relate to education in crisis/ emergency, education recovery and resilience and education and the nexus approach. Key strategic partners will include Education Cannot Wait, INEE, Global Education Cluster and the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack, among others
    Provide though leadership, policy and advocacy support to the ECW and GPE Global Account Management (GAM) mechanisms to ensure coordination and harmonization.
    Deploy (virtually or in person) to support Country, Regional and/or Liaison Offices with education policy and advocacy upskilling and capacity backstopping up to 20% of the time.

    Qualification and Experience:

    University degree in Education, International Development, Humanitarian Response or other relevant subject matter.
    Proven advocacy and policy influencing experience in education, gender equality, and/or humanitarian systems. Strong preference given to experienced gained in a crisis affected country.
    An understanding of concepts of the right to education, inclusion and quality within education both in development and humanitarian contexts will be essential.
    Strong understanding of humanitarian systems and policy landscape, both globally and at country level.
    Solid experience of working on children’s rights and gender equality at a global level within an NGO, UN agency or government department.
    Proven experience of producing high quality evidence based policy positions and briefings. Having developed advocacy strategies on related topics in a national and/or international context using a variety of advocacy approaches, policy analysis and positioning.
    Knowledge of global institutions, initiatives, and organisations with a priority focus on education combined with an awareness of the global financing requirements to achieve the right to education for all children, including domestic and international financing needs.     Practical experience in providing technical support and advice to field staff and country offices is essential in this role and you bring the ability to adjust approaches, communication style and behaviour to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders and communities. 

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Works with internal clients to understand their needs and define the technical support services needed
    Supports offices across MEESA to have the strategies, tools, skills and capacities required to ensure high technical quality in the design, implementation and monitoring of SRHR projects, programs and initiatives.
    Ensures that offices embed gender-transformative approaches and inclusion principles within SRHR work. Promotes values and attitude transformation within the organization and its partners to foster a positive and rights-based approach to SRHR.
    Develops new and innovative approaches to the work to improve how programmes/ projects are designed and delivered.
    When requested, supports Country Offices in ensuring their Country Strategic Plans and Influencing Strategies have well-designed, ambitious, yet attainable SRHR components.
    Facilitates new program/project development, provides technical guidance to scale up and sustain SRHR programs and projects, supports resource mobilization for SRHR initiatives across the region.
    Work with M&E teams to recommend appropriate mix of measures, evidence and analytical methods, including methods to assess project progress, outcomes and impact.
    Generate and review the evidence and research to inform decision making on programmes and projects.
    Works with COs to document promising practices and innovations in SRHR programming, support gender-transformative programme model development.
    Is an active member of the global SRHR network, supporting organisational learning, continuous quality improvement and technical excellence and linking COs in the MEESA region to the global network, fostering peer support.
    Contributes to shaping tools and related processes on SRHR across the organisation, representing the views and priorities of the MEESA Region and ensuring contextualization of global tools.
    Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.
