    Meal Officer

    Role Purpose:
    Smooth functioning of MEAL system in all projects of the designated area. Conduct frequent quality monitoring visit against Quality Benchmarks randomly and build capacity of the program team in data collection and reporting as well as update Output Tracker (OT) during emergencies and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTTs) of all existing projects in the designated area. Support baseline surveys, formative and operational researches, and program reports etc. Make sure the complaints & feedback mechanisms in the field office are functional; strengthen coordination and collaboration with all program team and partner staffs. Ensure that MEAL is visible within projects.
    Key Areas of Accountability.
    A. Monitoring:

    Ensure that the projects have solid MEAL plans, Indicator Performance Tracking Tables and log frames.
    Support the project leads in updating the indicator tracking tables and provide necessary MEAL guidance regarding project performance.
    Functioning CPIMS and EMIS (education in emergencies information management system).
    Ensure systematic filling for child protection cases are in place.
    Lead in the development of tools and guidelines for data collection, collation and reporting, for instance ensure that projects have clear MEAL plans, IPTT as well as tracking of total beneficiary reach.
    Maintain the field office database for all projects and ensure that the databases are updated regularly.
    Capacity building of program staff on project related M&E templates/forms for data collection; Output tracker (OT) and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT) etc.
    Organize field visits to monitor program activities / interventions against Quality Benchmarks/Quality Checklists and produce & share reports with program team as well as management team based on quality and accountability findings.
    Support program staff to strengthen joint planning and monitoring with stakeholders.
    Contribute to the quality of program design – reviewing log-frames, results frameworks, project plan, strategic plans, MEAL Plan etc.
    Lead in conducting data quality assessment to ensure that data reported is validated, is accurate and consistent while providing feedback as necessary to program teams;
    Analysis against the performance indicators and targets on periodic basis.
    Lead the country annual reporting processes for Total Reach and Global indicators reporting at field level.
    Ensure the quality of reporting data and verify the data and information from sources periodically on sample basis.
    Lead the review & reflection of whether the DIP is followed as per the plan or not during all staff meeting.
    To carry out follow-up monitoring visits to materialize action agreed in action plan also update and ensure close follow up of Monitoring-Action Plan Tracker’ at field level.
    Maintain close coordination with field manager at field level and Head of MEAL on Quality and Accountability issues. Share all information (monitoring reports, CFM database preliminary inquiry reports) with Head of MEAL while keeping the field manager in the loop.

    B. Research and Evaluation

    Update the online evaluations tracker on a regular basis and ensure that it is up to date with all the studies and evaluations that are implemented in the field office.
    Participate in inter-agency assessments on CP, education and the annual participatory planning meeting led by UNHCR.
    Provide a synthesis of all evaluations conducted and share recommendations with program teams.
    Provide support for all needs assessments, formative and operational research and evaluations.
    Manage and supervise external consultants while they are in the field office for data collection.
    Assist MEAL Manager/Program Manager in preparing and conducting baseline studies.
    With support from communications, research and learning manager and programs teams develop quality case studies.

    C. Accountability

    Build strong and functional accountability mechanisms and ensure that these are continuously monitored.
    With support of project leads ensure that project information is correctly shared with beneficiaries through the most appropriate mechanisms.
    Data protection and confidentiality for CP cases in the camps.
    Ensure beneficiaries actively participate in project activities.
    Maintain and update a complaints and response mechanism database for tracking feedback from communities and ensure that the feedback/complaints are responded to.
    Build capacity of other program staff to undertake accountability including ensuring participation of communities and sharing information with communities as well as undertake accountability assessments.
    Ensure the Complaint Feedback Mechanism (CFM) are functional and accessible to beneficiaries.
    Develop regular trend analysis of complaints at organizational level and share these with program team as per protocols.
    Support in carrying out preliminary first verification report in case of serious nature of complaints filed by beneficiaries/communities and support for investigation of that types of complaints as per CFM protocol.
    Ensure that the agreed action plans are followed in timely manner by program team.
    Share all information (monitoring reports, CFM databases, preliminary verification reports, case studies) in the support of MEAL Assistant with Head of MEAL.
    Share MEAL findings & CFM issues in each monthly meeting
    Ensure that the CFM guidelines are followed by all staff.

    D. Learning:

    Conduct comprehensive analysis of evaluation and research findings; provide summary of findings, learning and recommendations and share these with program staff.
    Support program teams in developing quality program reports.
    Professionally document and proactively share information and learning from projects with Save the Children staff and stakeholders as necessary.
    Take an active role in ensuring that staff are compliant in uploading data and reports into share point and other relevant online systems and maintain such database systems.
    Ensure the key learning’s are incorporated in upcoming plans and interventions.

    E. Others:

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    Essential

    Minimum three years’ practical experience in M&E system implementation in a large international non-governmental organisation or other international relief/development body.
    Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and proficient in the use of ODK/Kobo and data analysis programmes e.g. SPSS and Stata.
    Demonstrable track-record in data management, with the ability to manage large databases.

    Education is a fundamental component of humanitarian response: it contributes to the physically and psychologically protection of children, their families and communities; it supports and promotes the continuation of child development and learning and helps prevent drop out; it presents an opportunity to improve the reach, quality and relevance of education, including building resilience.
    A key part of being able to initiate, design and implement timely and quality EiE responses that can do this is that the EiE Sector staff responsible possess the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes (competencies) – developing these is the aim of the Education in Emergencies Professional Development Programme (EiE PDP).
    Building on the success of the Certificate in Advanced Studies (EiE CAS) developed and delivered over the last three years by Save the Children, and now accredited by University of Geneva, the ESA EiE PDP Manager will lead the process of implementing the ESA PDP Regional Strategy which will include a combination of accredited long course delivery (EiE CAS), shorter/intermediate course delivery and bespoke on-demand support, as well as looking for regional funding opportunities to supplement these programmes and for post-April 2021.     ROLE PURPOSE
    As a member of the East and Southern Africa Program Quality team, the Regional Research and Evidence Specialist provides leadership to brings consistency, quality and strategic direction to the use of evidence in our work in East and Southern Africa.     The Administrator will work to support the rollout and delivery of the East & Southern Africa (ESA) Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme (ESA CPiE PDP) and of the Education in Emergencies Professional Development Programme (EiE PDP).
    Building on the successful capacity building model developed by Save the Children and now established in the Asia Pacific region (for CPiE) and Middle East & Eastern Europe (for CPiE and EiE), the ESA CPiE and EiE PDPs will raise national & regional response capacity in these respective sectors. Using the results of a regional CPiE and EiE Capacity Gap Analyses and the Mapping & Market Analysis data, a comprehensive CPiE and EiE professional development strategy will be designed for the region to meet the priority needs of organisations and individuals responding on the ground.

    Regional Media Manager

    The Media Manager role is a key management position meant to ensure that quality and timely media are produced for news media organisations and other partners and to ensure visibility of Save the Children’s brand. A key part of this role is to secure international/regional media coverage and ensure Save the Children is positioned as a first responder to emergencies in the Horn of Africa, southern Africa and other emergency responses in the region.
    The post holder is expected to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter who will generate ideas and drive content forward, providing compelling case studies, images and video, as well as spotting strong news lines and writing engaging headlines. Central to achieving this is to oversee a media strategy to highlight the Emergency responses in the region and in developing situations.
    The Media Manager will act as a key focal point for all media requests from members. When necessary, this post-holder may act as a Save the Children Spokesperson. This will be achieved by regular coordination and liaison with the Global Media Unit based in London.
    In addition to the above, the post holder will also be expected to support RO/countries brand building in-country, namely through national and regional media.     Role Purpose:
    The MEAL coordinator role exists to establish consistent MEAL practices across the Regional Programming Unit portfolio and to provide support to the research and learning agenda for the RPU. He/ She will support the delivery of Monitoring, Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) in Save the Children RPU program, build the capacity of staff and partners and coordinate information management and reporting systems. The MEAL Coordinator will thus work with program staff to actively seek to incorporate innovation, best practices, and lessons learned for improvement of programme quality. He/she will lead on ensuring alignment with the Save the Children MEAL framework and m inimum standards. He/She will also be the Unit’s MEAL focal point, coordinating Unit level MEAL activities.
    Qualifications and Experience

    At least 8 years supporting MEAL processes in an NGO
    At least 5 years managing a team

    Experience in working on child protection and child rights
    Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and innovative problem-solving ability; demonstrated ability to handle complex knowledge management issues
    Extensive practical experience in applying information technology to the implementation of knowledge management and knowledge sharing strategies
    Proven ability to write concise reports and deliver effective oral presentations
    Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively in remote teams.
    Excellent partnership building and maintaining skills and ability to guide multiple partners towards achieving agreed outcomes.

    ROLE PURPOSE:
    Working with members of the global IT team, the role holder will be responsible for building, implementing and supporting Business Intelligence (BI) solutions within the organisation. This role will partner with business stakeholders in order to understand their analytic requirements, and implement and maintain BI solutions to meet these needs, utilising best practices. The role requires experience in adapting existing solutions as well as creating new solutions.

    Provide the organisation with accurate and timely BI solutions based on requirements gathered through business partnering activities
    Maintain and support existing BI solutions
    Proactively source new and innovative solutions that provide clear business value and construct ‘proof of concepts’ to demonstrate the new solutions
    Proactively identify any technical project risks/issues related to BI
    Estimate and deliver BI project tasks to agreed prioritisation and timeframes
    Support the IT Service Delivery team with the BI reporting environment

    QUALIFICATIONS
