    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    As the New Markets Donor Development Manager, you will play a crucial role within the Non-Member Markets Team, focusing on digital fundraising programs in regions where Save the Children does not have a physical office presence. This includes many countries in Eastern Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
    The New Markets Donor Development Manager will drive our existing plans for supporter retention and development. This pivotal role is responsible for engaging with donors to build and nurture relationships, increase engagement, and maximize their lifetime value. You will be responsible for developing the donor development annual and long-term plans and strategies for individual giving,as well as implementing and overseeing all campaigns and activities related to donor development. While the program has been primarily digital in the past, this role will also incorporate telemarketing into the mix of channels. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of donor engagement strategies, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build long-term relationships with donors. As the New Markets Donor Development Manager you will be an expert in donor retention and development, responsible for promoting best practices and innovation. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting Member offices by sharing best practices from testing conducted in non-member markets.
    Working closely with the Global Digital New Markets Specialist and the New Markets Acquisition Manager, you will contribute to our long-term strategy and align with our global organizational goals. This role offers the opportunity to provide input into the program strategy, take a hands-on approach to your work, and collaborate effectively within the team.
    The New Markets Donor Development Manager position is part of the Digital Public Engagement Team, an agile team that has been working virtually even before the pandemic. This team provides strategic support and specialist technical guidance to our 27+ Members, primarily located in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and the Americas. The team also focuses on reaching new audiences and engaging with them in non-Member markets, with a special emphasis on key markets.
    The New Markets Donor Development Manager will be part of the member offices practitioner communities, the New Markets Donor Development Manager will actively engage in sharing and learning from best practices and case studies among different offices. This position offers a unique opportunity for continuous learning and growth.     EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
    Essential:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in donor development, fundraising, or related roles, with a demonstrated track record of successfully engaging and stewarding donors.
    Donor Engagement Expertise: In-depth understanding of donor engagement strategies, including digital and telemarketing approaches.
    Experience with CRM systems and data analysis.
    Experience with Marketing Automated tools.

    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    The Gender Equality and GBV Intern will be integral to Save the Children’s East and Southern Africa Regional Office. They will provide support to Gender Equality and GBV teams, focusing on promoting gender equality and social inclusion across the region. The intern will work closely with the Gender Equality and GBV team, contributing to research and analysis, program design, knowledge management, and administration. 
    SCOPE OF ROLE:

    Dimensions: Save the Children works in 12 countries in East Southern Africa (Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, and Ethiopia) with a current staff complement of approximately 3,500 staff and current expenditure of approximately $290 million each year
    The Gender Equality and GBV team focuses on driving transformative impact in gender dynamics and preventing and responding to GBV, encompassing various thematic areas. The intern will play a key role in supporting the team’s initiatives and strategies within the region.     ROLE PURPOSE: 
    The Child Protection Officer is responsible for field level implementation, coordination of case management processes and monitoring and evaluation of child protection activities as well as providing leadership and guidance to child protection community workers and staff. Manage individual cases for children with protection concerns, deliver capacity building trainings for CP volunteers, community structures and staff partner agencies.  To coordinate Save the Children program activities in the field offices.
     
    SCOPE OF ROLE: 
    Reports to: Child Protection Coordinator 
    Dimensions:

    Save the Children has been operational in Kenya since the 1950s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners. Current programming focuses on child protection, child rights governance, education, health, HIV/AIDS, livelihoods, nutrition and WASH. In 2012, as part of a global reorganization process, Save the Children combined the programmes of SC UK, SC Canada and SC Finland to create a single operation in Kenya. In Feb 2014, we completed a second transition, which saw us join forces with the British INGO, Merlin, and merge their health and nutrition programmes with our own. Save the Children now has an operational presence in Bungoma, Dadaab Refugee Camp, Garissa, Mandera, Turkana, Samburu and Wajir and we work through partners in many other parts of the country. We employ nearly 300 staff and will have an operating annual budget in 2023 of approximately US$20-25 million. Save the Children has a three-year country strategic plan upon which all our interventions and priorities are premised.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
    Case management

    Manage and support the individual case management and BIA & BID development processes in the  field offices, 
    Provide mentorship and support to the community supervisors and workers through on the job training and guidance to enhance their case management skills and competencies
    Design a capacity building strategy for BID community workers and other stakeholders involved in the of BIA & BID process.
    Actively participate in interagency coordination meetings such as BID panels, CPWG and Case conferences both at DMO and the field office.
    Analyse training schedules for the BID community workers and provide technical support and guidance for effective implementation of BID/BIA process
    Ensure timely management of data and documentation of cases at camp level; and through coordination with MEAL assistants ensure children records, data are accurately recorded in the CPIMS database and updated regularly with case progress. 
    Contribute to the design of an overall programme contingency plan when needed
    Provide BID Supervisors with technical support regarding complex cases or specific technical difficulties
    Produce timely progress reports, including both quantitative and qualitative information, on Child Protection activities and input into regular situation reports, monthly and quarterly reports
    Ensure correct management of BID/BIA documentation at camp level
    Manage and coordinate  the planning of the Camp Child Protection activities to ensure minimal disruption to programme activities-Including staffing issues and office administration; to ensure effective management of programme resources
    Facilitate regular interviews and home visits with relevant persons who can give information on the child (the child, his/her family, leader, teacher, neighbour…) 
    Participate in camp level interagency meetings and engage in the identification and building of linkages with other partners/agencies, the Government and the community to ensure that issues related to child protection are raised and addressed. 
    Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies
    Manage BID community workers staff annual leave and time off ensuring minimal disruption to programme activities
    Collect required data and coordinate with the MEAL team on a monthly basis and ensure data is correctly captured
    Identify and build links with other partners, ensuring that issues for child protection are raised and addressed
    Coordinate the identification, follow up of children in alternative care  and , monitoring  of foster parents/Guardianship
    Ensure the placement of children  in alternative care adhere to SCI procedure  and with the Kenya alternative care guidelines(Guidelines for Alternative Care of Children in Kenya 2011)

    Program Planning and implementation

    With the support of the Child protection coordinator, Develops a feasible, coherent time bound  and detailed implementation plan for all active grants
    Under the support and guidance of the Child protection Coordinator, coordinate plans for the implementation of the project activities in all camps.
    Work with the Child protection Coordinator and other team members and sister departments to develop project implementation and procurement plans 
    Ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with the approved work plans and with the involvement of partners and concerned stakeholders at all levels
    Participate and/or take lead in joint activities such as distributions and assessments as and when assigned.
    Conduct regular data collection using existing tools in order to track project performance on indicators and measure overall impact and for donor reporting purposes and make recommendations on the improvement of these tools

    Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation:

    Ensure monthly, weekly and quarterly reports are submitted in good time and meets the quality standards
    Ensure project activities are implemented in the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable manner without compromising quality and Save the Children’s value for money
    Ensure that good practices and lessons are documented and shared with the MEAL team and the Child protection team for replication and wider dissemination 
    Identify and contribute to development of case studies and success stories to ensure milestones are documented and reported on.
    Ensure that field based monitoring data and information is collated regularly and made available to Child protection  Coordinator and the MEAL Team for data entry, reporting and monitoring purposes
    Work with the Child protection  Coordinator and the MEAL Team to prepare and/or revise project monitoring tools (LOGFRAME, IPTT, MEAL PLANs) to track indicators and monitor achievement of objectives and impact of the program
    Travel to all project sites to conduct regular monitoring of projects quality together with other project team members
    filling of forms and quality data collection using the CPIMS forms
    In collaboration with the MEAL Team, focus on project data collection to generate practical information that can be used for ongoing program decision-making while also capturing results at the impact level
    Assist the Child protection  Coordinator in preparation of periodic progress reports in a timely manner for both internal and external use (monthly sitrep, quarterly and final reports)

    Partnerships and coordination

    Develop partnerships and rapport with the refugee community structures to enhance community participation, ownership and sustainability of programmes by orienting them on the project goals and to solicit their involvement in the implementation of the project especially in case management and implementation of the community based child protection systems and activities. 
    Collaborate and coordinate with other aid agencies, governmental institutions and other child protection organizations in order to promote cooperation and strengthen systems for children
    Represent Save the Children in interagency working groups and camp coordination meetings and partner training as may be required by the CP coordinator.
    Develop and cultivate team work both internally and within the inter-agency circle

    Grants Management and Accountability

    Under the support of the CP coordinator work closely with finance and awards team to ensure effective budget monitoring for the project in line with donor requirements and contractual obligations, including Grant opening, mid-term and closing meetings.
    Ensure full and meaningful utilization of assigned budget lines in accordance with phased budget whilst ensuring quality and value for money.
    Ensure timely production of activity/events reports as well as monthly reports as per the agreed timelines.
    Staff management and capacity building
    Ensure community workers are fully supported and managed, through coaching and mentoring.
    Develop SMART objectives for all line reports and ensure continuous performance management and review
    Develop leave plans and work plans that are In line with the project timelines and ensure close collaboration HR on matters staff management.

    Coordinate with other departments to ensure operational systems are in place to support field activities including logistics (transport, warehousing and asset management), procurement, security and administration

    ROLE PURPOSE:
    An experienced Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Technical Advisor to provide remote and in-country expertise to support design and implementation of CVA programmes so they are appropriate, timely, accountable to beneficiaries, donor-compliant and cost-effective, across the region. The Regional CVA advisor will use their in-depth contextual understanding, technical and operational expertise, and relationship building skills to provide a critical link between Save the Children’s global and country level technical work while supporting response planning, quality program implementation, preparedness, and advocacy. The role will contribute to building CVA capacity and fostering networks across country office staff.  The role supports regional CVA advocacy and influencing, and contributes to strategic partnerships and relationships (with donors at Regional level) for new business development. It provides input into the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems to demonstrate impact, while sharing learning across country offices, and ensuring quality of our programmes. The position will work closely with both internal and external Cash and Markets Technical Working Groups to ensure global and country office experts are collaborating and sharing learning, best practices, and working towards a comprehensive and unified strategic approach to CVA for child outcomes.
    This position will be part of the East and Southern Africa Regional Office team, with extensive travel throughout the region (up to 50% of time), but can be based in any of our country offices.
    In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly, either through remote support or in-country deployments.

    Strategy & Technical Leadership:

    Develop and monitor the implementation of a regional CVA strategy and action plan in consultation with TAs in Child Poverty and other thematic areas (for a range of “Cash Plus” opportunities to support child outcomes across our breakthroughs), and country offices. 
    Support recruitment, onboarding and capacity building of Country Office (CO) CVA experts in the region; identify top talents and facilitate opportunities for learning.
    Influence and support CO PDQ TEs on objective modality selection as part of the wider adoption of a cash plus approach across all SCI programming in the Region. 
    Facilitate cross-country learning between CVA experts in the region, and participate in cross-country learning with other regions; identify creative ways to share learning, best practices and collectively address challenges, feeding back to the SCI Global Cash Team;
    Support regional technical experts in other sectors to understand and contextualise global cash & market guidance for their thematic area, learning and evidence and ensure that learning from the region informs our global evidence, technical standards, and strategic direction in CVA for child outcomes, as well as in Child Sensitive Social Protection.
    Support CO preparedness for cash programming, and compliance with CTP Operations Manual and SCI Policies and Procedures. Ensure that all country programmes have completed cash transfer feasibility and risk assessments (and support in the completion of these assessments).
    Working closely with the SCI Global CVA Team and SCI Humanitarian Preparedness teams, support the identification and implementation of CVA preparedness activities in prioritised countries (e.g. standard operating procedures, framework agreements, feasibility & risk analysis), regularly tracking their preparedness rating and proactively engaging with new COs. When needed, support the design and review of country Emergency Preparedness Plans and Contingency plans on CVA aspects.

    Programme Quality in Design & Implementation: 

    Provide in-country surge support and remote backstopping as needed for all prioritised emergency responses in the region.
    Support COs with the design, proposal development and donor engagement for key strategic programmes and opportunities.
    Support CO in their implementation and monitoring of key strategic programmes, to ensure high quality delivery, monitoring and evaluation. Work with SC member staff to meet donor compliance and quality standards. Ensure that gender, disability and resilience considerations are reflected in our programme design and implementation.
    Promote a Market Systems Strengthening approach as the overarching framework, that supports working in collaboration and partnership with governments and regional bodies, working towards impact, scale and sustainability.
    Oversee the design, implementation and monitoring of regional Cash & Market-based programmes; ensure that sectoral and internal technical best practice (including Save the Children’s Common Approaches) is applied in collaboration with relevant Country Office technical colleagues. 
    Explore innovative opportunities and trends which could be applied in CVA-based programming in the region and support country offices to pilot, and document, new or updated tools and guidance, especially with a focus on gender, disability, and resilience. 
    Work with Child Rights Governance colleagues to ensure that a rights based approach is reflected in our programme design and implementation (in line with our child rights programming approach), with a strong focus on child participation
    Respond to requests for technical expertise from Country Offices in the region where possible/appropriate through Save the Children’s flexible Technical Expertise systems (e.g. Global Humanitarian Surge Platform; TE Request platform), and identify support from others for key regional technical needs.
    Support Emergency preparedness, recovery, and where appropriate response, including country office capability building for humanitarian response, emergency preparedness planning.
    Provide oversight of regional CVA projects to ensure their quality and compliance (e.g. ensuring appropriate design and risk management processes, performing spot checks etc)

    External Engagement: 

    In collaboration with the Regional Resource Mobilisation team, contribute to regional strategic partnerships; identify partners and donors to strengthen our CVA portfolio in the region and maintain an overview of CVA best practices and coordination mechanisms
    In collaboration with Advocacy colleagues, influence key regional stakeholders and policy-makers to ensure they reflect the needs of children in the countries where we work, such as the Regional Cash Working Group; Regional CaLP Office; Regional Clusters, especially the Nutrition Cluster, the Education Cluster, the Food Security Cluster and others; Collaborative Cash Delivery platforms that may exist in the region.

    The Regional T4D Support Officer is a key part of the Digital Programming team at Save the Children International, which is responsible for leading the digital transformation of our work with children. This work is a central pillar of our strategy to deliver a greater impact to far more children in the 120 countries in which we work. The Digital Programming team is putting in place the processes, platforms, tools and resources that enable Save the Children and our partners to design, deliver and scale safe, high quality digital programmes. 
    One of our top priorities is to provide a suite of tools that our local teams will depend on for the effective delivery of a wide range of digital programmes across different thematic areas (including health, education and child protection). In addition to data collection and case management tools, these will include messaging and content management platforms to train and support teachers, healthcare workers and other professionals remotely. 
    You will be responsible for training colleagues within your region on these new digital tools and processes and for ensuring that the tools are configured correctly in advance.  In addition, you will contribute to the design and production of training materials for your region.  The Regional T4D Support Officer will deliver training via various methods and channels, including face to face training, Training of Trainers, online Q&A sessions etc. to ensure successful roll out and consolidation. As well as configuring global apps and tools for countries within the region, this role will also dedicate some of their time to developing new global apps and templates for the benefit of all teams.

    This project has many stakeholders across Save the Children International countries, regions and centres, as well as Save the Children members. We work in around 120 countries worldwide and employ around 17,000 staff within Save the Children International and a further 8,000 within the Save the Children member organisations.     ROLE PURPOSE:

    The Regional Award Management Officer provides support to the regional Award Management team in the planning, securing and managing of both development and humanitarian awards, through all stages of the Award Cycle (inception to close out).  The position involves supporting award information management and compliance with SCI systems and processes.     Prepare Strategic Portfolio Analysis Report to inform New Business Development Initiatives and Management Decisions.

    Partnerships – Sub awards and sub grantee management

    Support program staff to comply with Save the Children partnership policies and procedures and ensure all implementing partners undergo legal vetting on AMS and preparation of partner agreements are undertaken as per partnership processes to ensure donor compliance.
    Working with CO Awards and Partnership teams, ensure that the partner data integrity and completeness of information in the system for all partner documentation including reports is uploaded onto AMS through spot checks of AMS data.
    Support coordination of the monthly calls with Partnership Focal points to discuss partnership management and share best practices.

    Humanitarian Response

    Provide direct and/or remote support to emergency responses as required, including administrative work and effective management of humanitarian pooled funds and appeal funds, including sub-award agreements with specific COs/members.

    QUALIFICATIONS   

    Undergraduate degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Law, Business Administration or Finance or a relevant field.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential:

    A minimum 3 years of experience in award/finance or a similar functional area within an NGO.
    Demonstrated interest in career in donor-funded project management with International NGOs, particularly those addressing human/children’s rights and those applying partnership approaches.
    Exposure to developing proposals (narrative and financial), negotiating agreements and managing compliance of major institutional donors in the development sector (e.g., USAID, EC, ECHO, UNICEF, DFAT, etc.) including knowledge of grant documents & compliance issues.
    Demonstrable experience in grant/contract management and financial management
     Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent documentation skills are a must.
    Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
    Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
    Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
    Highly developed interpersonal and English communication skills including influencing and negotiation
    Commitment to goals and values of Save the Children.
    Excellent time management and planning capacity
    Experience working with implementing partners and managing sub awards/grants.

    Desirable:

    Experience in financial accounting and accounting systems (i.e., Agresso).
    Experience with Save the Children Award Management System (AMS). 
    Experience working in across departments and in business processes.
