    ROLE PURPOSE
    The Project Coordinator is envisioned as a primary support to the Deputy Project Lead and to help assure the quality project deliverables at the county level.  They will play a vital role in ensuring that our advocacy efforts are strategic, evidence-based, and effectively contribute to progress in the milestones of the project. The functions of the role will include implementation of the county advocacy outcomes for the project that will ultimately result to political will and commitment towards refugee children’s holistic skills development. 
    The officer will map out key child participation forums at both county levels to ensure children voices contribute to the realization of the project’s objectives besides packaging information/research findings and developing appropriate communication channels for dissemination of information/research findings; project documentation and dissemination; capacity building, learning and knowledge management. 
    This position is contingent upon donor approval and funding.
    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
    Strategy development & implementation

    The project coordinator will provide leadership in advocacy, learning and policy support to the area office and offer support to ensure there is a coherent process linking the county and national level advocacy efforts for the project. 
    Maintain an in-depth understanding of refugee education legal and policy reform initiatives at the County level.
    Ensures that all advocacy messages and documents are evidence-based and of high quality.
    In close collaboration with the project leads, the Head of Advocacy, the Education technical specialist, develop and implement county advocacy strategies for the project. that will seek to 
     Responsible for the delivery of an annual implementation work plan. 
    Develop and implement relevant context specific strategies for effective child participation within the advocacy activities in collaboration with the field office teams and relevant staff at the country office. 
    Support project leads in identifying policy and practice change, which would improve education outcomes for refugee children.

    Advocacy and Communications

    In liaison with MEAL Officer support the county level monitoring and evaluation of advocacy-related objectives, mapping of key opportunities and events, organisation of Save the Children ‘moments’ and events related to the project
    Contribute to the development of advocacy materials – including policy briefs, position papers, press releases, Questions and answers and opinion pieces for county and national advocacy. 
    Formulate, consolidate and support key policy and advocacy messages (including direct communication and advocacy) for the project to influence county and national government, donors and other implementing actors.
    Develop good knowledge of county government structure, political processes and key decision-making structures with regard to refugee and education issues at county level. 

    Building Partnerships 

    Identify local networks and coalitions and develop sustained partnerships/ alliances that are critical in the dissemination and/or application of research findings and/or learning to influence the policy and practice landscape with regard to refugee education issues.
    Representing Save the Children at strategic county forums, networking with strategic CSOs and other social movement processes that are relevant to Save the Children’s policy work including with regard to refugee education.  It also includes identifying and helping to identify and nurture refugee education ‘champions’ to support our advocacy agenda.
    Support area offices to build partnerships with communities and programme beneficiaries in establishing accountability mechanisms, capacity building and knowledge management.
    Support the capacity building of programme and field staff and key partners on advocacy through training, sharing best practices and supporting learning and knowledge management. 
    Work collaboratively with external partners and stakeholders including government to align implementation efforts with broader project advocacy objectives.

    Programme Management 

    Participate in Save the Children programme meetings and related sessions to draw out research-based advocacy messages in programmes.  Keep abreast of current research, national and donor policies and debates in Kenya, relevant to the project. 
    In collaboration with programme managers, monitor and evaluate project activities within budgets, ensuring that indicators and methods are in place to allow evaluation of the achievements and develop regular reports on progress.
    Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    At least 3 years’ experience in advocacy work, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of advocacy strategies. Experience working within Kenya Health systems is an added advantage.
    Excellent understanding of Kenya’s budget cycle and moments.
    An understanding of policy and legislative development processes at both national and county levels.
    Superior written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex arguments into accessible English for a non-specialist audience, and the ability to write articles that would be published in the mainstream press.
    Knowledge of the devolution processes, and its impact on the health sector. 
    Excellent verbal communication skills, appropriate for high-level external representation (for example lobbying county governors, ministers, MCAs)
    Experience of developing advocacy strategies, knowledge and understanding of a range of advocacy techniques
    Experience of effective teamwork and outstanding inter-personal communication skills
    Experience of coalition building and working with civil society actors to deliver change
    Excellent understanding of Sustainable Development Goals, Vision 2030, policy and legal provisions in support of child survival.

    Desirable

    The role will:

    Provide technical leadership and advice to, whilst building the capacity of, our Country Office teams on the design and implementation of child-focused climate change programming;
    Supports the generation of evidence to demonstrate impact, while promoting and supporting learning across our programmes, teams and partners.
    Supports driving strategic partnerships for new business development, helping to position Save the Children as a leading Child Rights organization on climate resilience, whilst building ownership, agency and engagement of local organisations and child-led initiatives;

    Technical Capacity Building & Mentoring:

    Provide contextualized, hands-on, demand driven technical support for ESA Country Offices, and identify sources of technical support for COs and facilitate access where needed through Save the Children’s flexible Technical Expertise systems (e.g. Global Humanitarian Surge Platform; TE Request platform), and others for key regional technical needs;
    Support the recruitment, technical onboarding and ongoing professional development of CO climate-focused focal points and experts, including capacity building, mentoring; identify top talents, capacity gaps and facilitate opportunities for learning.
    Facilitate cross-country learning between experts in the region, and participate in cross-country learning with other regions; identify creative ways to share learning, best practices and collectively address challenges, feeding learning with global technical staff

    Resource Mobilization & Program Design:

    Work closely with New Business Development colleagues at the country offices, regional office and Members to serve as the technical lead on key strategic climate funding opportunities, including but not limited to scoping, capture planning, and positioning with key donors;
    Provide technical assistance to Country Offices on design to fashion high quality, competitive climate programs (development or humanitarian), and incorporating best practices, evidence-based solutions and innovation; and ensuring that a child rights based approach is reflected with a strong focus on meaningful and equitable child participation
    Promote a Systems Strengthening approach as the overarching framework, that supports working in collaboration and partnership with governments and local partners and working towards impact, scale and sustainability.
    Travel to the field to participate in design workshops, assessments, team writing assignments, and other proposal processes as needed/requested

    Technical Assistance & Quality Assurance:

    Provide technical guidance to the programme implementation teams to ensure that climate resilience programme components are technically sound, implementation methods are consistent with national strategies, acknowledged best practice and global evidence; and are likely to achieve scale, as well as equitable and sustainable results;
    Support the design and operationalisation of Save the Children’s quality benchmarks and key performance indicators, and work with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) teams to conduct quality monitoring against international standards;
    Undertake field visits to project sites; work with implementation teams to understand impacts, operational challenges, and continuously identify opportunities for learning and improvement.

    Role Purpose:

    In Save the Children, we currently have a diverse landscape of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms in use. With this project, we are looking to implement a Global CRM Template via Salesforce with a set of Global Shared Services for the benefit of our global movement. We will place an immediate focus on clusters of member countries that are using Salesforce CRM platforms, alongside member countries who are in the process of implementation projects, but acting independently. Through delivery of this project, we aim to streamline and offer a standardised Global CRM Template, accessible across our movement. We will look to offer a variety of Shared Services for CRM to help members maximise their ability to interact with their donors and to enhance our global fundraising capabilities while promoting collaboration and harmonisation between parallel implementation projects. This is a complex project with a high level of visibility and will require senior level engagement with stakeholders from across the movement.
    The Global Salesforce Administrator will enter the organisation while we design, develop and test our Global CRM Template as well as set up the Shared Service Model. We are looking for a proactive individual that can develop deep understanding of the end-to-end system functionality, manage and enhance our Salesforce platform, gather requirements and feedback and develop scalable best practice solutions. The Salesforce Administrator should enjoy all aspects of user management including support tickets, helping support Member Offices and Users to resolve problems, training, and designing solutions with member’s satisfaction.

    About the role
    We are currently looking for an Education in Emergencies Advisor – Humanitarian Surge Team to join our team. As the Education in Emergencies Advisor, you will be rapidly deployed to support education program teams and ensure that Education in Emergencies (EiE) programming is of excellent technical quality, attracts significant donor funding and contributes significantly to SC strategic objectives, national/global learning and advocacy.
    You will bring to the role with you:

    Previous experience of implementing awards funded by institutional donors with medium to high levels of compliance requirements, e.g. ECHO, CIDA, USAID, OFDA, DfID.  (European donors, European Commission or Scandinavian experience is preferred.) 
    Good knowledge of key education standards, in particular INEE and demonstrated ability to set up learning and development processes in humanitarian settings.
    Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in Education programmes in a humanitarian or development context. 

    Proficiency in English and working knowledge of a second language (French, Spanish, or Arabic) is a must.

    ROLE PURPOSE:
    Over a period of 10 months, Save the Children (SC) plans to implement an integrated economic recovery and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) intervention in Kenya in 2 sub-counties of Turkana and Mandera to address acute malnutrition among adults and children exacerbated by the current climate induced vulnerabilities and inadequate community preparedness to disaster. The project seeks to provide integrated support for increased access to financial services including entrepreneurship skills while strengthening community resilience through nutrition sensitive agriculture (kitchen gardens) and disaster risk reduction approach. The main objective of the project is to improve the resilience capacities of drought affected households and their institutions to respond to and to reduce disaster risks proactively and to adapt to long term trends of food insecurity.
    The position is field-level tasked with planning, coordinating, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community-based disaster risk reduction and resilience livelihood related activities in Mandera/Turkana field office. The Officer will spends most of their time in the field, identifying target communities, establishing relationships with community leaders, establishing community-based disaster risk management committees, Village micro-savings and lending association and delivery of nutrition sensitive agriculture activities.
    SCOPE OF ROLE:

    Role Dimensions:  
    The position holder will work with the project coordinator to ensure successful delivery of the project.  He/She work closely with sub-county and county level stakeholders as well as local community stakeholders. 
    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : 

    With regular support from the Child Poverty Technical Specialist and the Project coordinator, ensure full implementation of the DRR/Livelihoods Project activities to achieve project goals and objectives including monitoring relevant indicators, coordinating with the relevant actors at county level and facilitating meeting/workshops in in the target counties of Mandera/Turkana over the project period. 
    Prepare project briefs in consultation with programme coordinator and Child poverty technical specialist.
    Lead in the participatory vulnerability and capacity assessments based on the project activities using SCI standard tools.
    Mobilize and support the establishment of CMBDRR committees, village micro-savings and lending association and enhance link to formal structure and relevant county agencies.
    Plan and coordinate relevant trainings to target groups in community-based disaster risk management/VMSLA- establish and maintain transparent, functional relationships with target communities – Ensure daily activities at the field level follow implementation guidelines.
    Play a key role in integrating DRR and Livelihoods, for building the collaborative efforts towards the Resilient Communities Building in Project sites
    As required conduct regular monitoring and inspection visits to DRR/Livelihoods project implementation areas and provide technical assistance as needed or identifying areas of capacity development.
    Participate in project evaluations alongside MEAL and assist in the analysis of results.
    Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and final narrative reports as per agreement. 
    Collect complaints and feedback during field activities and ensure that these are shared with MEAL officers for updating of the CFRM database
    Escalate complaints and feedback of a serious nature to Program Manager and field office child safeguarding focal point.

    Role Purpose:
    Save the Children’s programs gather evidence of our results in multiple systems and processes, using many different indicators. Across our program portfolio today we are not able to effectively analyze our results above the program level. We have prioritized building more consistency in how we measure and capture results of our programs. We are in progress of implementing new global tools to standardize how we capture and store data, including digital data collection (Kobo and CommCare) and managing program logframes data (PRIME). We will complement these new tools with improved business processes that allow us to measure results in a more consistent way when possible, so the data is usable to make decisions at scale.
    We have developed a list of prioritised global indicators. The role of the Indicators Specialist will be to manage the governance of this list, advocate for changes where required, and advise on its use. The role is essential to ensuring the Global Indicators are suitable for use across Save the Children, and will lead engagement with stakeholders (Technical Leadership Groups, Technical Working Groups, and Research & Evidence Advisors) to evolve and improve the Global Indicators list. In addition, the role will drive and oversee specific improvements to the Global Indicators, including advocating for changes based on quality criteria and country office user feedback. The role will also manage execution of changes, including managing translations, uploads to SCI IT systems, completion of relevant governance processes, and (where required) overseeing the work of external consultants to develop content for the Global Indicators list. Last, the role is essential to driving uptake of Global Indicators, and will lead the analysis and communication of use data for Global Indicators with senior leaders, including identifying and advocating for potential changes to the Global Indicators where required based on actual usage.
