    Examine titles to property to determine validity and act as company agent in transactions with property owners.
    Interview or correspond with intermediaries and claimants to correct errors or omissions and to investigate questionable claims.
    Interview or correspond with claimant and witnesses, consult police and hospital records, and inspect property damage to determine extent of liability.
    Investigate and assess damage to property.
    Prepare report of findings of investigation.
    Refer questionable claims to external investigator or claims adjuster for investigation or prosecution.
    Assist with business or managerial research
    compile evidence for court actions
    compile information for court cases

    KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Pre-authorize scheduled and emergency admissions within the defined guidelines.
    Determine the appropriate parameters for admission i.e. initial authorized cost and expected length of stay
    Negotiate professional fees as appropriate for each admission.
    Conduct hospital visits for admitted clients within the major towns
    Liaise with doctors on the day to day management of patients and obtain medical reports where indicated.
    Ensure smooth discharge process and coordinate any necessary post-hospitalization or stepdown care.
    Revise reserves after discharge of member.
    Collect feedback from admitted clients on quality and level of service by the providers
    Assist in verification and audit of inpatient claims prior to settlement
    Maintain relevant reports on admissions
    Promptly respond to queries from clients, intermediaries and providers
    Liaise with underwriting section for development of new products or benefits
    Proactively escalate any identified risks or risk events
    Any other duty assigned by management

    Background
    In 2020, Mastercard Foundation developed and adopted a new refugee framework to support programming that strengthens the resilience of refugees and displaced young people, their host communities, and the institutions which support them in their educational journey and transition into employment.  This strategy builds upon the Foundation’s Young Africa Works Strategy and the commitments to refugee inclusion pledged during the 2019 Global Refugee Forum.   
    As part of these efforts, a new collaboration with WUSC  will support the Mastercard Foundation to fulfill its commitment to meaningfully include refugee and displaced young people  across the Foundation’s work.  The Displaced and Refugee youth Enabling Environment Mechanism (DREEM) is a 5-year project that will work towards greater inclusion of refugees and displaced young people across the Foundation’s programming, especially the Scholars Program and Young Africa Works Strategy in Kenya. 
    In order to meet the objectives of the Foundation and ensure that DREEM activities are designed and delivered to meet the needs of refugees and displaced young people, an Advisory Team composed of individuals with lived experiences is needed to advise and provide guidance to WUSC, Mastercard Foundation, their stakeholders and program partners.  
    The Advisory Team will provide guidance on three key areas of focus that are highlighted in Mastercard Foundation’s Refugee Framework:

    Inclusion in Education and Comprehensive support
    Improved access to economic opportunities
    Strengthen Institutions and Ecosystems 

    As Mastercard Foundation also works to implement newly adopted refugee and displaced  young people  framework strategy, the DREEM project and Advisory Team will ensure that the design and implementation of the Foundation’s work are informed by and continue to reflect the unique perspectives of displaced and refugee youth

    Maintaining data protection policies and procedures.
    Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Data Protection laws and policies of the Group as outlined by the regulator.
    Conducting training and awareness sessions to all EA Staff on Data Privacy requirements and obligations of the Group
    Ensuring Data privacy policy availability by publishing on the Intranet for employees and independent contractors to access and providing it to all third parties who process personal information on UAPOM’s behalf or in terms of a contractual agreement with UAPOM.
    Management of third party data protection risks
    Ensuring Data Privacy Impact Assessments are undertaken in line with data privacy laws.
    Driving implementation of essential elements of the DPA, such as the principles of data processing, data subjects’ rights, data protection by design and by default, records of processing activities, security of processing, and notification and communication of data breaches.
    Overseeing the maintenance of records required to demonstrate data protection compliance.
    Review and update Data privacy policy for the Group as required.
