    Scope of Work
    The consultant will:

    Undertake field visits in Dadaab and Kakuma to capture the status of different interventions such as schools and remedial centers, progress on school upgrades, and out of school project intervention.
    Submit photo captions including the names of subjects included in the photo, their age, institution and location, and description of the photo.
    Submit high resolution action videos of some of the project interventions ongoing, or short interviews with the subjects on the different project interventions.
    Obtain written consent for photographs and videos (the consents will be provided by the WUSC MERL team), to be signed by the concerned parties or the beneficiaries’ guardians.

    Deliverables

    The Key Deliverables for the consultancy are as follows:
    At least 100 color digital images in high resolution shot as a RAW file (300 pixels/inch: minimum size 3000 x 2000 pixels;) from each region;
    At least 100 color digital images in high resolution from each region edited in specialized photo editing software (e. g. Photoshop) to comply with WUSC photography and image standards;
    All digital photographs must contain complete caption information in “file info” and separate word format captions list. Caption information should consist of: date, place, subject names and age, and brief description of the situation photographed;
    Photography and videography consent forms signed by parents or legal guardians of children under the age of;

    Reporting requirements

    The consultant will report to the WUSC ICT Officer, who will regularly communicate and provide feedback and guidance on their performance and all other necessary support so to achieve objectives of the assignment, as well as remain aware of any upcoming issues related to consultant’s performance and quality of work. All activities and deliverables undertaken by the consultant shall be discussed and planned in consultation with WUSC.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Qualifications as professional photographer and a demonstrated minimum of 5 years’ experience as professional photographer;
    Good command of own photographic equipment (cameras, lenses, lights, filters, tripods), as well as photo-related image editing software;
    Good knowledge of technical requirements and settings for taking photos in various settings (i.e. outdoor, indoor, portraits, group activities etc.) is expected;
    Experience covering social, humanitarian and development subjects will be an asset;
    Knowledge on ethical standards in reporting on issues related to children will be an asset.

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Incumbent will report to the Group Head of Compliance and will be responsible for:

    Developing and maintaining a mapping of Data protection and privacy legislation in all UAPOM’s operating territories
    Maintaining data protection policies and procedures.
    Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Data Protection laws and policies of the Group as outlined by the regulator.
    Conducting training and awareness sessions to all EA Staff on Data Privacy requirements and obligations of the Group
    Ensuring Data privacy policy availability by publishing on the Intranet for employees and independent contractors to access and providing it to all third parties who process personal information on UAPOM’s behalf or in terms of a contractual agreement with UAPOM.
    Management of third party data protection risks
    Ensuring Data Privacy Impact Assessments are undertaken in line with data privacy laws.
    Driving implementation of essential elements of the DPA, such as the principles of data processing, data subjects’ rights, data protection by design and by default, records of processing activities, security of processing, and notification and communication of data breaches.
    Overseeing the maintenance of records required to demonstrate data protection compliance.
    Review and update Data privacy policy for the Group as required.
    Supporting data incident response and data breach notification procedures.
    Providing updates on the Data Protection and Privacy compliance programme.
    Regular reporting on Compliance as required
    Any other Compliance related responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    Experience working in a financial and/or regulated industry.
    Experience reviewing information systems related contracts
    Self-driven individual able to take accountability for role delivery
    Excellent writing and presentation skills.

    Under the supervision of the Nairobi-based DREEM Deputy Director, the Communications Officer will work closely and in collaboration with the WUSC team in Kenya, the WUSC team based in Canada and the Mastercard Foundation team.

    Displaced and Refugee youth Enabling Environment Mechanism (DREEM) project
    WUSC, through the DREEM project, will play a unique role as a technical assistance and strategic learning partner to the Mastercard Foundation and its partners. DREEM will contribute to the Mastercard Foundation’s commitment to meaningfully include refugee and displaced youth in their Scholars Program and Young Africa Works initiative. As the Mastercard Foundation also works to deepen its refugee and displaced youth strategy, DREEM will closely work with the Foundation to ensure that the project continues to support its overall goals of the meaningful inclusion of refugee and displaced youth. 
    The DREEM project will focus on three key pillars: 

    Support Scholars Program (SP) partners and staff with the knowledge, capacity and networks to meaningfully recruit and serve refugees and displaced youth in higher education and transition to work and to work towards more inclusive societies;
    Support Young Africa Works (YAW) country partners and staff in East Africa to gain the knowledge, capacity and networks to meaningfully include and develop programming  that meets the unique training and employment needs, opportunities and aspirations of refugee and displaced youth, especially young women;
    Strengthening Economic Opportunities for Refugees (SEOR) to complement WUSC’s existing Learning through Education and Access to Employment Pathways (LEAP) project and provide refugee entrepreneurs, especially young women with improved access to market-oriented business support services that improve business and employment outcomes in Kenya. 

    Job Role
    The Deputy Project Director (DPD) supports the Project Director (PD) in ensuring that the DREEM project reaches its stated results and objectives. The DPD assists with strategic and work planning, coordination and management of project staff, and overall management and administration of the project at the national and regional level. 
    Under the supervision of the PD, the DPD will work closely with project staff including the Scholars Program Manager, the Young Africa Works Manager, the SEOR Coordinator, the MERL Lead and Officer, the Gender and Safeguarding Officer, the Policy and Communications Manager and other staff to ensure that project activities are effectively planned, implemented and monitored. The DPD will support project staff and partner organizations to develop capacity building and training activities, mentoring and coaching interventions and follow-up support in ensuring that refugee and displaced youth are meaningfully included in higher education, employment and entrepreneurship pathways. 
    Under the supervision of the Nairobi-based DREEM Director, the Deputy Director will work closely in collaboration with the WUSC teams in Kenya and Canada, the DREEM Youth Advisory Committee, and the Mastercard Foundation team. 
    Responsibilities:
    Supporting oversight of project activities, ensuring that commitments made under annual workplans are achieved or that adaptations/changes are adequately planned for and monitored for quality assurance; 
    Supporting the Project Director in providing mentoring and coaching to project staff to ensure that they are building relevant competencies in partnership management, project management and in the inclusion of refugee and displaced youth in their respective areas of work;
    Overseeing the development of capacity building tools, training materials and other resources for a diversity of partners and clients;
    Supporting and supervising the recruitment and selection of program staff and/or external technical assistance to support various facets of the project;
    Working with project and Foundation staff to identify and assess partners, prioritize capacity needs, identify areas of intervention, develop action plans, and help implement those plans through gender and youth sensitive training, coaching and mentoring;
    Foster relationships with sub-contractors and consultants for the implementation of the DREEM project, ensuring strategic alignment, communication, and compliance with donor regulations and internal  organizational policies; 
    Participating in and leading regular meetings/events with Foundation staff and partners;
    Contributing to the development of DREEM’s reporting, budgeting and workplanning processes (led by the Project Director);
