    Regional Head, HR Regional Head, CFO & EBS

    Reporting to the Head, Group HR, the Regional Head, HR, will oversee and drive the execution of the Group’s HR strategic plan in the East African Region and position the organization into being an employer of choice.
    Requirements
     

    Responsible for overall management, co-ordination, and oversight of HR in the East African region;
    Lead effort for setting strategic direction and objectives for the East African region in alignment with overall Group HR direction and objectives;
    Facilitate and oversee expansion with regards to HR in East African subsidiaries both organically and through mergers and acquisitions;
    Enforce the implementation of group-wide HR policies for advancing the group objectives and ensure compliance.
    Drive the Performance Management initiatives of the Region;
    Develop productive relationships with key strategic partners and stakeholders to advance the cause of the entity across the East African Region.
    Review HR budget of the East African region; co-ordinate HR activities and act as liaison with the Group office to ensure full alignment.
    Provide HR support and advise to executives of the African subsidiaries and to the Group office on issues affecting HR matters in the East African region.
    Drive, Monitor, and report performance of the subsidiaries in the East African Region;
    Develop productive relationships with key strategic partners and stakeholders to advance the cause of the Group in the East African region; and
    Perform other functions as assigned by the Regional Managing Director/Head, Group HR

    Person Specifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Arts, or any other relevant field. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    Professional qualification in Human Resource Management, valid practicing certificate and membership to IHRM.
    Have knowledge and experience of not less than twelve (12) years’ experience in Human Resource Management within the Financial Services Industry, with at least 5 years at management level. Experience in the Banking sector is preferred.
    Have the knowledge and understanding of HR specialist competencies including business partnering, occupational health & safety, career counselling, succession planning, remuneration programs & policy.
    HR policy formulation, knowledge of labour laws & agreement, grievance & discipline management, and diversity dynamics, as well as change management.

    Support implementation of Binti Shujaa intervention including supporting established Binti Shujaa groups.
    Work with the departments of education and public health to support sensitization sessions for teachers to equip them with the knowledge and skills to establish school health clubs.
    Support training of natural leaders, CHVs, catalysts and community members on various Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) components including sensitizing communities on food and water safety measures.
    Spearhead the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) processes aimed to deliver village open defecation free.
    Work with Community Health Units (CHUs) and CBOs to ensure smooth coordination of CHUs/CBO volunteers’ activities such as pregnancy mapping, referrals and documentation and reporting.
    Establish and maintain excellent relationship with the Sub-County Health Management Teams (CHMTs) and other community stakeholders within identified area.

    The holder of this position will ensure that all audit assignments in Public Sector and Government Service Line are carried out to the highest standards in order to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm; develop high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters; and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.
    What you will do 

    Support the Partner on delivery of designated engagements and managing the implementation of the agreed deliverables;
    Manage work in progress on engagements and ensures billings are timeously done and collections followed up;
    Leverage a deep understanding of audit services and stakeholder needs to deliver high quality engagements;
    Manage engagement budgets through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management;
    Perform risk assessment procedures to provide a basis for the identification and assessments of risk of material misstatement;
    Assist in the preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations on request; and
    Generate innovative solutions on projects / engagements in collaboration with team members to enhance / renew service offerings to clients.

    Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
     A recognized accounting qualification such CPA/ACCA or equivalent.
    Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards.
    At least 5 years’ experience post-qualification with an internationally recognised Auditing Firm.
    Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Requirements

    Be a holder of a university degree in any of the following fields: Engineering, Technology, Science, Business or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field, from an accredited/recognized institution. A Master’s degree and/or professional qualification in related field will be an added advantage;
    Have at least ten (10) years’ experience in Power, Utilities & Renewables sector, with not less than five (5) years served as Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer or 10 years as C -suite executive responsible for at least three function areas of an energy utility company. Work experience in more than one utility will be a definite added advantage;
    Have experience in distributing electricity, liaising with clients, engaging in business development, managing operations, and working with local and global stakeholders;
    Possess demonstrated exceptional management skills, including program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation and promoting innovation;
    Must have excellent people skills, a history of demonstrated leadership and the ability to work effectively with the board;
    Have significant experience in successfully leading high impact projects and high calibre multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments;
    Should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and success in influencing and communicating with diverse audiences, governments, and donors at the national, regional and international level;
    Have ability to think strategically while promoting cohesion and team building and maintaining strong morale among the staff is paramount; and
    Be a discernible change catalyst with ability to transform a power utility from ‘’Good’’ to “Great”.
